After swearing for years that I would never wear Birkenstocks, I gave in to the trend and bought the Madrid in white for summer. I wear size 6 shoes and chose the narrow 36, and that was the right size choice. The first couple of times that I wore them, they were horribly uncomfortable. The top strap dug into the tops of my feet, and the bottoms felt like I was walking on wooden boards. I had read that it takes time to break in Birkenstocks, so I kept wearing them, and they did break in. After about three weeks of nearly daily wear, they're now very comfortable, and I find myself wearing them just about every day. Very easy to slip on, lightweight, and look really cute with shorts and skirts/dresses.

The two-strap Birkenstocks aren't my thing, but I like this one-strap option a lot. It feels sleek, yet still provides all the things one would want with this sandal. It takes a bit for the bed to mold to your foot, so walk around in them to break them in, and you'll love them. I'll wear these as a quick slip on while I'm heading out the door or while I'm taking the dog out.

I love these sandals so much I usually wear them until the cork is gone in the heel and then they become my climbing gym shoes. I've never had the narrow size before but it's an even more perfect shoe now. The size is accurate to my shoe-store measured size. Do note, you have to break them in a bit as they're a bit stiff at first, but they just get more and more comfortable. This style is the least 'granola' of the Birks so I've been more inclined to wear them to a bar (outside of Vermont) than my Arizona-style Birks. Won't be looking for a new sandal anytime soon.

Great fit and very comfortable.This was my first pair of birkenstocks and I now also purchased slippers for myself and my partner.Not many brands make shoes in Narrow Fit so I an pleased I found a brand that makes shoes for those of us with Narrow feet 😍
I shouted myself these silver birkies for Christmas. My chiro told me I should always wear arch support sandals rather than havianas or just flat sandals. especially if you’re walking on tiles all day or concrete. She’s right. I feel much more balanced and supported. The silver is a really nice shimmery matt silver. There are a lot more glamorous and sexy sandals around but when your feet feel comfortable, the smile on your face is genuine .
They stylish, comfortable and light to wear. They are sturdy without being cumbersome. I like the design, easy to just slip into. Love the colour and style . I like leather sandals. Love the look of these shoes, esp how they're more minimal looking and narrower than other birk styles. When they first arrived, I almost returned them because they're a hard to keep on your foot at first (especially going down stairs). But I took a risk and kept them and and am SO glad I did. I very quickly got used to them being more floppy than other birk styles (took about two wears), and am now able to wear them all day long. I've now had them for over a year and find myself reaching for them often. I rotate between this style and the classic Arizona, depending on my mood/outfit. If you like this style, give them a try!
I love Birkenstocks! I love the Madrid style! I bought my first pair in 2010 in Sweden! The shoes were so comfortable. Easy to slip on and off. Supported the arches of my feet so my plantar fasciitis doesn't flare up. Stylish with my clothes. Great buy!
I adore the style of these shoes! However, like other reviewers have said, they run narrow. They do not fit right, especially in the toe area, and aren’t as comfortable as other Birkenstock styles. I even tried ordering the next size up but they were still narrow and much too big. The black patten is lovely and looks great with anything. So sad that these aren’t a good fit. Because the style is so cute, I’m still considering keeping them. I’m sure I could wear them around but if a lot of walking was involved they’d be a no go.
Love to wear with my lulu lemon wide legged pants . The color goes well with a summer white too . Comfy shoe . I bought the cleaning kit to protect the shoe
