The vacuum for the price is amazing . The about of dust and dirt it took out of my carpet was shocking considering my last vacuum was a expensive Dyson Ball Vac that was more powerful apparently. The only downfalls are all the tools cant be stored and the hose and extension don't give very much reach. I like to vacuum cobwebs from ceiling corners and this doesn't give the reach easily like my old one would have been nice to have a Telescopic extension rather than one small extension.. also would have been nice to be able to remove the brush to clean it and replace it if it ever wears out . But safe to say i love how much it cleans. My daughter got one as she just moved into her own place and the carpets were awful even though she was told they were professionally ... Kia Ora, I have given this Vac 4 stars only because of the cord length so it would only do the space of one room, it would have been awesome if it was extra longer but I do appreciate its own wind up button for it to store itself. Im not a fan of the astetics and how chunky & plastic it looks and feels with a hint of doubt that it won’t last that long however my 1st clean was amazing, great suction, easy fill up of 1 & a 1/2 cannister of dust and stuff for a 4bedroom home & 2 living spaces. Easy to empty. The end result looks really good on my carpet like brand new. I also have the Bissell Wash Vac that I purchased a month previously which gave awesome results too and so to top it off with this Vac it it is well worth to have them both. Ugh I’ve always loved Bissell, with pets my previous Bissell’s have been fantastic. I purchased this one to replace my old Bissell with high hopes. This one worked for 2 months great, and then the belt fell off. Ok, no problem, simply put the belt back on and went to cleaning. But 7 months later, 7 times of taking this stupid vacuum apart, and putting the belt back on, I had to buy not one, not two, but 5 new belts for this aggravating plastic junk. And this evil monster of garbage just ate it’s last belt, as a plume of black smoke emerged from its underworld and seized the motor. Oh and not to mention, the plastic filter pops out constantly, causing the vacuum to blow dust/dirt everywhere. Gone are the days of good sucking vacuums. Save your money, buy something ... I use a Rainbow vacuum cleaner for my deep cleans, and I’ve gone through hundreds of cheaper vacuums for my in between cleans. This one is, hands down, the best cheap vacuum cleaner I’ve ever used. It EASILY competes with my $800 Rainbow, which is incredible. It picks up great on hard floors instead of spitting everything out like I’ve experienced with every other inexpensive vacuum cleaner, and it beautifully fluffs up even my berber carpets and 20 year old area rugs. The hose and attachments did amazing on pet hair on furniture and hard to reach corners, however the vacuum head was able to pick up just about everything out of the corner itself without having to drag out the attachments. Maneuverability was pretty difficult as well, it definitely doesn’t swivel as easily as some of the lighter weight vacuums I’ve used, and using it on carpet was also a major workout. My mother has a bad back and said it was not easy for her to maneuver or change the settings, which are located at the bottom. In all, the cons are not enough for me to be upset, because this really is a great vacuum cleaner for $88!
I’m very impressed with this vac. Not only does it get the dog hair off the couches, but the amount of crap it picks up off the floor makes me wonder what the purpose of a broom is for. Let me explain… I didn’t realize this vacuum had a hard floor mode. So after sweeping, I vacuumed. The amount of dog hair, human hair, and dirt that came up was mind blowing. Let’s just say, I no longer sweep unless it’s to pick up larger items that shouldn’t be vacuumed. I even vacuum the bathroom. If you have teenage boys, you know body hair can be found everywhere! Changing the belt was different than other vacuum cleaners I've owned: you need to unscrew the bottom plate rather than flip some catches. I washed the dust filters, dried and replaced and turned it on. I am amazed that a vacuum cleaner that costs less than $100 works as well as this one does. One other feature not found on this one: switch to turn off roller when using the hose and wand. Overall, for me it's an excellent machine and does what it is supposed to do: pick up hair, dust, etc from the carpet. I checked on Bissell's website and the lowest priced model with a brush on off switch was just over $200. For that extra $100 most users can skip the feature and use common sense when using the hose and wand rather than the regular operation. I don't own pets any longer, so I can't comment on pet hair pickup, however, given the amount of suction on this vacuum cleaner I'm sure it will pick up the hair . Overall, I'm very pleased, and as I mentioned at the start of my review, this cleaner only cost me the price of a replacement belt. Whatever the comparable current year model is I think it's safe to presume it works well too.
The main issues I've had after using this vacuum for 3 years... 1 - Hose length is too short OR not able to be stretched to reach farther than 3 feet away without causing the entire vacuum to fall over. 2 - The brush continually spins ALL THE TIME even when Im using the hose so when I attempt to move the vacuum to a location to reach something with the hose if I put it on carpet and forget to adjust the height, then the vacuum "eats or melts" my carpet. As such, when the hose is in use the brush should stop spinning. 3 - All the attachments can not be stored on the vacuum, and so I have to keep going into another room to get another attachment as I move around my house cleaning. 4 - When on a hard surface, the brushes spinning cause some small particles to be kicked ... I don't think I would buy this again.. They need to reinvent some parts and test them on a REAL house for a few months. I'd gladly test one with improvements and let you know! :)

Since we moved in permanently in mid December, we have replaced the belt three times. At first I thought I'd inadertantly left the height adjuster in the wrong position so it put too much stress on the belt. However, the belt broke with the correct setting and again while doing my bare hardwood floors. We have 3 area rugs and hardwood floors, so it isn't like it is being used hard. It appears from reading the reviews here, we are not the only ones. It's lightweight, manageable, and convenient when the belt isn't breaking.
