This camera is operating so well! My wife's brand new SUV got keyed twice within 11 months and didn't go through insurance 2nd time or may get cancelled. So I bought 2 dashcams. This one is infrared for excellent night vision and records inside car. (The other one records front and back outside car). So now we got full coverage 360 degrees including sides of car where it got keyed. This dashcam has impeccable night vision and we love that it can be used in low light especially when parked. It also has excellent voice recording!My only advice would be to buy a model which has cloud capabilities. This one does not. I've purchased two Blackvue DR550 2CH from Blackboxmycar many years ago. The Blackvue dash cams are one of the best and have been flawless. I recently replace one with the DR590x 2CH which has great features, clear picture night and day. I had some issues connecting it to the wifi but after talking more than once with customer service sorted it out. Blackboxmycar has excellent customer service. They are prompt and very helpful. Ive had many different dash cam and this one is not bad at all. The important to me is reliability. In hot climate like Florida you got have one that can withstand the heat inside a car. This one does! I installed it on my C7 corvette and I like the fact that it is low profile, since I have very little real estate available in my windshield. Also I want it to be discreet. All that being said, this product is as expected. Now the bad, initial set-up is a pain in the rear end since I opted for the one without a GPS and it took me hours going back and fort to my PC trying just to get the time right and it is still showing KPH instead of MPH which is annoying even though I dont have the speed being displayed. Keep mind that in the 900 model with 4K resolution, it also takes up more memory hence the need for the biggest you can find. Since I have the 590 model I only get HD and is not bad. So ultimately, not bad for the money but Id be happier if I at least get a wi-fi. Sadly, I think for the price Id just buy the Thinkware 800 again.

On my DR590-1CH I have to remove the micro SD card, bring it in to my PC, plug it in, open the Blackvue Viewer, then change settings and put it all back together in the car. This is an okay 1080p recorder. It's not great in very bright and very dark conditions. I have seen better in this price range that handles the light balancing better. Overall the video quality of what I have is not as good as any of the reviews of this camera I watched before purchasing. The settings options are very limited.The amount of space the camera fits into and how it can be easily removed, even in a tight space, is a good design.On sale, it was a good buy.

The most annoying thing I find with this camera is the fact that it erases the memory card when you change a single setting. As a software engineer I am sure this is an overkill and could be avoided. At the same time, there are not that many settings to play with and once satisfied with them, I think there will be no reason to change them again. One thing I wish they could do better is to design some sort of test mode where the new owner could test the sensitivity, parking mode etc. Some sort of configuration wizard probably.Another concern I had was about the installation of the rear camera and the length of the supplied cable. At the end, F-150 crew cab is pretty large.
