We were at Port fairy got back to our old tent and it had a hole in the roof one of the poles broke went through the roof. We went on line to get some reviews for a good quality tent black wolf had great reviews. We drive to Mount Gambier nobody stocked them and we needed a tent straight away we found one in Ballarat 4 hours drive away we drove there and back that same day it was WELL WORTH the drive The best tent I have every owned super easy to set up extremely well thought out design so strong and stable and most of all it fits back into the bag it comes in with ease

Reviewed after first camp when storm front came down from north. What I liked: -Big tent, lots of room for 3 people, meets and exceeds the needs. -Window covers at half open gives good ventilation and privacy. -Power cored openings at both front door. -Two roof vents great to remove condensation inside tent and regulate the temperature. -Side and front panels attach directed water away from tent. -Option for screen room, purchased but not attached during the camp trip. - A lot of peg points and pegs are heavier duty than the side panel pegs. Different in gauge thickness. What I noticed: -Heavy rain, awning dwell water, so did adjust a few times, but might have to work on my roof angles. Not sure how this will go if I attached the screen room. Does it mean I will get ... MoreReviewed after first camp when storm front came down from north. This was notice in the morning. - If cabin walls are wet from rain, contact could draw in moister into other side of wall. Had to ensure slept away from wall. Opinion: - Setup looks easier on the snowy videos. Delivery service: - Fast - Sadden by courier service with condition of carton. A bit heavy to lug around unless you are build like Arnie.

Bought this tent on 22 March 17 and very impressed with Snow’s quick delivery. However, during a test set up in our backyard, we realised that the rainfly had few holes in it. Contacted Snowy’s customer care the very next day & I was advised that this matter has been escalated to their warranty department. More than a week now since I first contacted Snowy but even after long chain of communication and follow up calls, I haven’t received any outcome from Black Wolf yet. We now have just four days remaining before we go camping during school holidays. Not at all happy with Black Wolf approach towards warranty claims. I have also found online similar reviews from many customers reg. poor warranty claims / customer service by Black Wolf. Hoping for a quick resolution ... We purchased this tent at the end of 2016 from Snowys and have used it twice a year since purchase. Great service and prompt delivery from Snowys as usual! Unfortunately, not such a great choice of tent on our part! The Blackwolf 450 has an awesome layout and design. Great head height and really well ventilated, with windows you leave open- even under heavy rain. The front awning area is a good size and really usable with the side walls on. It’s fairly easy to set up and pack up too. The issue is the build quality. Twice we’ve had poles pop out of the centre hub, which requires the whole centre hub to be dis and re-assembled to be rectified. Not an easy nor quick fix. The fly has now worn thin in all the main frame contact points. This has caused leaking whenever it rains for more than 5 minutes. We have always secured the fly correctly at all tie downs to minimise any undue rubbing caused by wind. The thinning of the fly was evident even after the first camp! But by far the biggest issue is the choice of floor material. It’s porous! Without a ground sheet , any sort of dampness will come straight through and wet anything in contact with the floor. If you put a ground sheet down, water runs down the side of the tent, under the tent and through the floor. If it rains properly, it’s all over. Multiple times we’ve had to remove everything from the tent, mop it out and even try to get under (!) the tent to dry it out. It truly leaves you scratching your head as to who would design a tent with a totally porous floor! (See photo of actual puddle inside the tent.) As a result, after just returning from a trip plagued with rain showers we are faced with now having to look at cutting our expensive losses and starting again. In short, this tent was designed and manufactured to be used carefully on a flat dry surface, free from any possibility of rain or wind. Very disappointing for a premium priced tent.
We've had our turbo cabin since 2017 and used it probably 7 times. Its a great size, we can get four kids and our double mattress in there with room to move. The setup is easy as is packing it down. However it is not suitable for ANY wind. We had to replace the hub last 3 trips ago because it shattered in strong winds. We replaced it and two poles that bent, snowys sent those to us promptly and their service is great so no issues there. We are currently 3 days into a two week trip and experienced moderate winds last night and the hub has broken again. No issue with Snowys they are great. The tent however is not.
Bought the Black Wolf Cabin Turbo Lite 450 in late 2018 and used it for the first time over the Australia Day Long weekend. Easy to set up in strong gusty wind conditions, properly secured the guide ropes which held up in strong gusty wind conditions, during strong winds and overnight heavy rain downpour! Would definitely recommend this tent to any serious camper. Additionally purchased the side panels with windows, enclosed front panel and ground sheet which whilst expensive were well worth it. Very spacious tent with good ceiling height. Snowys service was great and fast delivery.
I am disappointed with this tent and the service from Blackwolf and Snowys. It was delivered with holes in and one hole had even been stitched up! The pole was also jammed. When we unjammed the pole and were able to use the tent, standard size ants were easily able to crawl through the mesh and there were tones of standard size ants in the tent crawling through the mesh window! It is not fine enough! This is an obvious design flaw. Lots of condensation...literally dripping off the ceiling. On the pro side the frame is robust. I like the pockets for the guy ropes, and the middle of pole guy ropes which give stability. The customer service I have received from Blackwolf and Snowys has been poor...I do not still have a date for replacement yet. Nor has a refund been ... I really think they should offer a decent goodwill gesture in the circumstances where Blackwolf have clearly tried to get away with knowingly supplying a shonky tent which they are not in a position to replace...the fabric was actually stitched up! By way of comparison I also have the Coleman gold 10p which is a similar design and much cheaper. I wanted to 'upgrade' as I find in winds the Coleman struggles. The Blackwolf does have a more robust frame so the frame is better in winds, but for non windy camping the Coleman is the better tent in my opinion and is easier to put up. I wanted to love and be proud of this tent...but I am just disappointed and feel ripped off. Photos by way of example.
Just returned our very first camp with this huge tent. Orientation is difficult but set up is relatively quick...and we did it with 2 females (56 and 14). Once the fly is off the quickest part of breaking camp is collapsing the tent - and stuffing it into the bag doesn't take long either as it's a generous sized bag. I have a 4 person dome tent from Blackwolf I bought 8 years ago and the quality doesn't compare. The Turbo Lite Cabin 450 ripped on first use - 2 small holes that duct tape will fix but my 8 year old tent doesn't have one hole. I found the middle wall poorly designed. I'd prefer it to be able to be a solid wall that could be opened up completely to the bit of lightweight curtain that is NOT attached at the floor. Whilst the cabin is large we could only ... I'd prefer it to be able to be a solid wall that could be opened up completely to the bit of lightweight curtain that is NOT attached at the floor. Whilst the cabin is large we could only get stretchers/blow up mattresses around 2 sides of each "room" as they are 20 cms too short to fit in a third stretcher in a |_| configuration. So with 4 beds around the 3 walls there is only the middle of the tent to stow gear in. The fly screens and door zips do not combine so you can't open both at the same time or just one, the screen door and tent door are separate entities. The tent well is deep, very deep. One really has to lift the leg up to get over it...a fair amount of tripping ocurred. There are no luxuries in this tent...no compartments for gear, the walls are too thin for anything structured. This tent is not my favourite. That would be the quality dome tent from 8 years ago which unfortunately, only 3 people can crowd into. This tent is good for lots of people who don't own any clothes or 2 people and then a gear room. I also bought the screen room....my opinion on this is still out. Would I buy this tent again....I'm considering selling it so I think not.
Purchased this tent before Easter holidays, it arrived with a broken clip however we received a new one before we went away which was great. The tent had a few problems, from the middle not being able to pull out completely with the pegs if you do pull it all the way out then you can’t open the doors as it’s too stretched. After 3 days away and only 1 day of light rain we came home to rain damage on the tent & was told by snowys that it isn’t covered by warranty. Which is extremely disappointing considering the tent cost $1300!!! The tent bag and peg bag had numerous holes in it and like I said we used this tent 1 time!!!!! None of this should be happening.. Now I have the replacement tent brand new in the box not knowing what to do with it?? As I have lost all faith in blackwolf quality. I believe snowys should of honoured the refund considering I had spent a BIG amount of money. Now I am stuck with a tent I won’t use and can’t sell because the reviews are so shocking!!! Who would want to buy it??? Will probably never buy from snowys again or blackwolf which is disappointing as we are big campers!!!
In continuance of my feedback from 9 April, 2017- thanks to Nick for an excellent customer service and timely resolution of the issue. We used the tent first time during our 6 nights camping at Diamond Head NP. The tent is very easy to set up and quite specious. Make sure you do a test set up before first use. Our total set time was around 40 mins (first time) with all guy ropes pegged and side and front walls installed. The front and side walls are highly recommended as they provide lots of extra space which can be used for almost anything- cooking, sitting, storage etc. We didn’t had any high wing conditions but it rained once and no leak at all.
