The tent itself is fantastic, sturdy and stood up well in high winds (couldn’t even tell from the inside that it was as windy as it was!!) easy to set up and pack down, would highly recommend.Dissapointed that my purchase was delivered from anaconda Frankston, and despite not paying for a display item, it was clearly an ex display when it arrived with chocolate wrappers in the pockets inside the tent, and random poles that don’t belong to this tent. Extremely disappointed in Frankston Anaconda for supplying an ex display when a brand new item was purchased!

On our VERY FIRST camping trip the zip popped above the slider! 3 TIMES!!! The quality of the zips is terrible! We were forced to abandon our camping trip and get alternative accommodation on the return trip. Costing us money we did not plan for!! When we got home I contacted Snowys for a refund as the this expensive tent was not up to the task of its intended purpose!! We sent the tent back and we’re then told that the zip had been serviced??? And that no refund would be offered as Black Wolf think this is not a “major fault” Mind blown!! On a brand new tent!! Always followed the instructions on setting them up (close all doors and windows before pegging our, we even watched the blackwolf YouTube clip on exact instructions on this model of tent before use) We have never had this happen before, not even once on previous blackwolf turbo tents!! Having owned older models of black wolf turbo tents I can tell you that the quality has diminished considerably and they are obviously now cutting cost and relying on there brand! I’m sure there will be a response on this review saying that I’m wrong and the tent was in fact fine but in all honesty would you be happy with a brand new top of the range “premium brand” tent failing to do its fundamental job on the first camping trip?? Snowys should of stood up for there customer and given me a refund! but instead they have left me with a faulty tent and I am now forced to file with VCAT to have this resolved legally.

The other thing that I noticed, was every time I would pop the frame up the tent would I clip from the centre hub. I solved that problem by crimping the clip with some pliers. After replacing the parts and finally going camping, the same issue happened with the bent pole, on a different arm, I was able to set the tent up, on pack down I needed to take the centre hub apart to take the tent down. i was able to fix in my self and bend the pole back straight when I got home and set it up to make sure it was fine. Its been nearly 2 years since purchasing with two 14 days Fraser Island trips and roughly 6 Camping trips to Caravan Parks with no major issues. This tent has held up very well in all weather condition so far from storms, wind, rain ect no leaks. I set this tent up on my own and it is very easy, once you have it all down pat. It fits our queen mattress and portable cot, with so much room still left. The Windows are great in the rain as the are gusted our, I use occy straps instead on the ropes to hold them out, makes it very easy to unhook when you want the window open or closed. I get a lot of comments about the tent and onlookers watch me set it up, most seem to be very impress with what they see and that it can be done with just 1 person. The only some small issues that I have had of late - Ridge pole from centre hub to the middle awning pole is bent but isn’t causing any issues, I can just see it have a bend in it. The middle awning strap that the rope is tied into snapped, but I can loop the rope over the top of the pole point to counter this issue, it snapped in some high wind. Snowys has been quick to respond the this issue but I have been busy to deal with it just yet. I have just been camping this week and noticed that some of my zippers on the front door have corroded and I can’t unzip the door now. I have never packed my tent in the wet and left me last camp trip in March a day early to void the wet weather. All in all this tent has been good, easy set up, keeps us dry, steady in the wind and suits our family. I would recommend Black Wolf upgrading the Gauge of the Alloy Poles all round to make their structure stronger with out bending so easy.Update from Ben, 14/01/19:Just come back from another 14 day Fraser Island trip and come across another issue with the tent, that you would know until you have had it for some time. The fly now leaks from the Centre Hub and the Clips that hang the Cabin to the Frame, the clips rub on the fly and cause it to leak as it is wearing away at it, i cant see why it leaks from the centre hub yet but will get onto it. The issue with it, it leaks down onto the main tent and pools at the zipper vents and then leaks into the main tent. The inlets for power also need to be looked at, water came straight through them, Black Wolf need to look at a sock type of inlet with a draw stings to pull it tight and points down. Definitely have a good think about this tent before purchase.

Excellent tent. Very easy to set up considering its huge size. Camped four days in very wet conditions with no problems at all. You have to be gentle with the zips as they are not top quality for some reason. A bit strange considering that the rest of ALL other materials and construction are of the highest quality (fabric and seams, pegs, ropes etc). Would have given this five stars if zips were a bit better. Packing up was also very easy and everything fit right back in the bag.

In heavy rain the tents floor became completely permeable with water coming up through the floor. We have camped many times in much worse weather and have never experienced a tent leak through the floor. The only solution was to line the inside of the tent with tarps. I purchased the tent based on what I perceived was a premium brand after several OzTrail and Coleman tents. By comparison those cheaper brands lasted and performed far better than this expensive Black Wolf Tent. Whilst our experience is with an older model a quick online search indicates that issues with the integrity of the floor is not an isolated issue. ... First time out with wife and two kids (both under 5)... Seems good quality but the condensation was absolutely ridiculous - also big questions on the waterproofing. We kept the windows at each end open, as well as the front and rear doors and the ceiling vents too! Yet the condensation was that bad it was pooling all over the roof inside the tent and slowly dripping onto the floor. It was also all over the inside of the fly which was dripping onto the inner tent and then leaking through into the sleeping areas (I took video). All the walls were also soaking wet on the inside. And I suspect it's more than condensation because the underside of the awning was also dripping with water next morning - that can't be condensation. IT WASNT EVEN RAINING over this Easter long ... I'm over 6 foot so I would bump my head on any surface and get wet - wipe your hand and like you put it under a tap - bump the ceiling and you literally get a shower of water droplets come down all at once. I am shocked at how bad it was. I researched a long time and thought this was the best money could buy but in my opinion it completely failed my number 1 criteria for a tent - KEEPING YOUR FAMILY DRY! As I said it did NOT even rain and I would hate to think how bad it would be if it did. Lastly the door zippers are super tight and hard to open despite me fine tuning the main frame pegging... I also bought the supposedly 'perfect' fitting $400 ground sheet only it didn't fit perfectly at all - longer at each end and flush along back and front.Now the positives, are good floor plan, heaps of space (even thought it's totally reduced when you need to keep all beds at least 30cm away from the walls to avoid getting wet) and set up was ok for this size of tent and being my first time. Even though the instructions are not clear and some things like the bedroom curved poles don't really work great. Where are they actually meant to be placed on the ground - inside or outside the main frame?? People loved the look and size of it but when I showed them the leaking and amount of moisture retention they were put off. Their tents cost less than half mine but they were bone dry inside as you should be especially when it's not raining. Has really put me off Blackwolf and camping to be honest. Would really like to hear of anyone else who has experienced something similar.
I bought this tent a year ago, it's not anywhere as good as the price you expect from this tent. Thinking this would be a good brand.. My old cheaper tent was far better. I should've stuck to my other brand. Used this twice in my camping trips, 3 night's both times. Very flimsy. The zip broke on the screen door on my 2nd trip. And yes, I always hold the panels together. Should be halve the price you pay for this brand. Don't even bother with it.

We graduated to this from two separate smaller tents, and the difference the extra space makes to day-to-day living is huge, including the area under the front awning once you add the optional side panels.One problem we had isn't really Blackwolf's fault. The issue was that with such a large tent, a small campsite pitch can force you into setting the thing up at a sub-optimal angle to the prevailing wind. This led to the problem which I will lay at Blackwolf's door - that awning is a fair-weather feature on a foul-weather tent. For next time we will rig lines through the awning pole holes with a eye at both ends and peg them down, but it remains to be seen whether we can still get in and out - it may be that's when only the rear door can be used.In Kalbarri this week we also discovered that while the tent, frame, guys etc. are all nice and strong, the awning poles are the sort you would expect with a pop-up beach shelter you paid $50 for at a kiosk. The centre pole snapped clean off at the upper joint and we are lucky the ragged edges didn't cause any further damage as the now collapsed awning flapped about at 0300hrs, restrained only by now slack guy ropes which we had doubled up before going to bed, That said, the tent itself remained firmly attached to the ground and stubbornly waterproof, so that was great. It certainly survived better than our Oztrail gazebo which tried to fly to Broome for the winter before snapping half it's struts and falling to earth.One minor additional point, irritating because of it could be so easily avoided. The side rooms of the tent are supported by a two-piece aluminium tube frames. They are slot together and are circular in cross-section - or they are supposed to be. Time constraints prevented us from trying our new tent out before actually camping in it, so imagine my choice language when I discovered one of these critical tubes had been crushed flat, apparently by the weight of the tent in the bag above it. I was able to reshape it using a combination of brute force and ignorance, but it will have to be replaced. This problem could have been easily avoided with a $0.01 plastic insert to maintain the shape of the tube.Overall I would recommend the tent, but suggest taking spare awning poles as a minimum and giving some thought to a plan to secure the awning in bad weather.
Yes, this costs a bit, but past a few minor issues it is a fantastic tent. Goes up in a very short time (what for the jaw drops in the camp ground as people watch) thanks to the permanently attached poles. Another 10 minutes and it's fully pegged an ready to go. We can all stand upright in the middle of the tent. We sleep at either end and put gear in the middle, heaps of space for 5 full size beds, gear and fridge.We have a small issue with the tightness of the door zips at times. Even with taking care to zip all doors closed when pegging out, it can still prove tough to zip up again after everything is opened up.We've bought the side walls for the awning to allow us to close out the weather a bit.Far more positives than negatives. No regrets here.

The room divider is flexible with the continuous floor, or a narrower door space between sections. Tent was super fast to put up, and put away. Having owned a few family size tents in the past, it took some time to get used to having no internal window coverings, with the only privacy covering on the outside. This made the tent a bit dark during the day. Our only dislike is the high door openings (most tents zip open to ground level), and the thin floor. A thicker floor would obviously add some weight to the tent, but would feel more secure underfoot.We also purchased the mesh extension, thinking it would create a third space for added storage and dining. I could only judge from the pictures online, so didn't't see it in action till we arrived at our camp site. I assumed it would velcro onto the existing fly, with an open floor, but it turned out to be a complete 'cell' which clipped and anchored to the tent poles. It took some time to get the tensions right, and was difficult to work out. It also had a complete floor, with the same thin plastic floor, which was also slippery, requiring us to put rubber mats on top to prevent slipping. Also meant double screens on the internal door, reducing the air flow considerably. In hindsight, would have chosen the solid wall options with windows.Otherwise, a great tent!
