I just bought this and noticed it had a new label which is fine. BUT they obviously also changed the recipe and that is not ok. I read other reviews and turns out I’m not the only one who thinks so. They are right. It smells and tastes rancid and has a strong vinegar smell and flavor. That’s just nasty. I made a chicken salad with egg and mixed this in per usual and ended up having to throw it all out. It was so gross my dog wouldn’t even eat it and he eats almost anything. So don’t buy this brand or you’ll regret it. It’s not good anymore.

I think of Blue Plate in away similar to how people see blue collar workers. Not upper class not lower class just average run of the mill everyday product. Like myself (a blue collar worker too by the way) it's necessary to give a sandwich, pasta salad, egg salad or potato salad the creamy texture and taste it needs nothing more nothing less. Just like myself and other blue collar workers are necessary to provide certain services in this world. I hope this analogy makes sense. It is the only one that popped right into my head. I am not putting this brand down it is a great low cost way to make great food. The taste just does not stand out to me more than any other mayonnaise.

Blue Plate is the best and only mayonnaise I have ever liked. It is thick, rich, and creamy. It doesn’t have spices that ruin the pure white color for you dishes. It is smooth and tasty. You can’t beat Blue Plate for your mayonnaise needs. This gallon jug is big enough to get the job done from making salads to long submarine sandwiches. The price is right on this jug even though it recently went up it still beats buying a bunch of small jars. It is great for dipping your French fries in, or putting on your banana sandwiches. I would definitely recommend you buy Blue Plate.

Because they use only the egg yolk and none of the whites, Blue Plate mayonnaise is richer and creamier than other brands. One taste and you’ll be convinced! Makes the best potato salad and macaroni salad, too! If you want to try something different and delicious, look up Paula Deen’s recipe for Garden Pea Salad.
I grew up with Blue Plate and Hellmann's mayonnaise. They had the freshest flavor and consistency. I have been purchasing Blue Plate due to it's price. After the new label it seems to me that the consistency has weakened abit and seems runny when spread. I will have to go back to Hellmann's as my go to for sandwiches and smaller amounts of Blue Plate for ingredients.
Arrived opened with a blue tape over the top to prevent leakage. The jar came from a different state. I appreciate the effort to bring this product to me, but it didn't work out.I didn't attempt to open it until I ran out of my existing supply of mayo. The jar was opened and the seal was opened. I didn't try the product.
I'm really not a fan of mayonnaise but I do enjoy both tuna and chicken salad. I've always bought the "H" brand because that's what my mother bought when I was a child. After reading reviews online and seeing the ratings of food magazines I felt compelled to try Blue Plate. I'm happy that I did. This stuff tastes better than any mayo I've ever eaten. I think that they only use egg yolk is the difference. It's much creamier and thicker and mixes better. I am a convert and now even put a little bit on my sandwiches. Great product!
I'm a life-long fan of Hellmans/Best Foods mayonnaise but received this as a substitute. There are those who love Blue Plate, and I am not one of them. It's... it's... ... I dont know how to describe its consistency and mouthfeel other than as unpleasant, and its flavor is bland, fishy, and... ish. It'll do for the time being as a binder for tuna salad where its fishiness will blend right in and its glum tonelessness can be prettied up with amendments, but I'm not sure anything can be done for its plasticky consistency. I'm back to Best Foods as fast as I can go, and if they dont have it I'll hit every store until I find it!
this mayonnaise is absolutely horrendously disgusting. complete waste of money. it taste rancid it tastes like chemicals and just absolutely foul. please don't waste your money and buy this. anyone who likes this Mayo needs to get checked by a doctor and have their taste buds examined. seriously this Mayo is beyond disgusting.
The Mayo is great. Walmart, however continues to use fed ex , who are CRAP and Walmart is aware fed ex is CRAP but continues to use them anywayFed ex is one of the LOWEST RATED shipping companies! They DUMP your packages as far from your door as possible. Easy access to street/sidewalk… they don’t want to make any roaming porch bandits have to work too hard to scoop up your package and make off with it! See attached photos. Fed ex also does not mind trampling your plants planted around your porch… due to the fact they are evidently too lazy to go up steps, or in our case a wheelchair ramp to place your packages AT YOUR DOOR!!!
