Love to use ground flax as an egg replacer/binder, and for adding fiber to recipes. I even tried it in place of eggs when making fried green tomatoes, and it worked well! ...Mix about a tablespoon of flax, (per tomato), with enough hot water to imitate the volume of an egg. Let sit for a few minutes to make a gooey clingy liquid. Add more water if needed. Sprinkle tomato slices with salt and pepper and coat with flour.Remove excess flour, then dip into flax "egg". Let the excess drip off and then coat with cornmeal. Allow flax liquid to soak into cornmeal coating a few minutes, then fry on medium heat until golden brown. Delicious!

I am prone to gastrointestinal problems and have also suffered from chronic constipation for almost 30 years.I did my own research on the internet and found out that this taxseed is also effective for constipation, so I purchased this powder. I love Bob's products. I eat it in my breakfast yogurt or cereal.I also use it in homemade cereal bread, banana pound cake, and other baking ingredients. It took me a few weeks to see the effect on my constipation, but it even reduced the breakouts on my face. I was chronically constipated and prone to breakouts on my face, so this was a very significant effect.

I purchased flaxseed primarily for digestion and a bloated stomach. The quality and ingredients which are organic and all natural with nothing but Golden Flaxseed. I have mixed the flaxseed with water or juice. It doesn’t seem to have much taste and to date it appears to have helped my issues. I feel like I’m benefiting my digestion issues and because the product is such high quality it can be useful just adding to your diet. I will continue to use it and hopefully it will be beneficial for a long while.

You can always count on Bob's Red Mill for a high quality product and this is no different. I've been eating ground flaxseed almost daily for many years and Bob's Red Mill has always been consistently good. I usually put it in my yogurt or on cereal and it makes no real change to the flavor, adding consistency to yogurt and almost undetectable in cereal. Otherwise, flaxseed has a somewhat nutty flavor. You can't go wrong; flaxseed is relatively high in protein and fiber but you're really after the omega 3 which pound for pound, flaxseed beats fish. Admittedly, your body has to convert the ALA (unlike fish) but it's a good option for non-meat lovers. This is a big bag and will last for a quite some time eating 1-2 tablespoons a day, so I usually freeze at least part ... MoreYou can always count on Bob's Red Mill for a high quality product and this is no different. I love Bob's red mill flaxseed and have been using it for years. It is the best flax I have ever used. I even have a favorite bread recipe that I created using flax, 5 grain cereal and oatmeal that we have been eating for breakfast for over 15 years. I don't call myself a foodie, more a gourmet and am a serious baker and gourmet cook. I majored in home economics in college many years ago. I have created many recipes and enjoy fixing new and exotic foods.Unfortunately, I will no longer be buying it because I can not order direct any more. Purchasing direct made it less expensive to purchase a great quality item which is always very fresh. I recently purchased a 1 pound bag at the nearest location to me and it was $11.59. It is just too expensive for me any more. ... MoreI love Bob's red mill flaxseed and have been using it for years. It is the best flax I have ever used. Glad Vitacost has at least one good option for organic flax meal since their own brand has been out of stock so many times in the last months! Bob's Mills also makes good products. This one's organic. Although highlighted text doesn't say 'cold pressed', the longer description says 'our process keeps the flax cool'. I do REALLY like the velcro-type closure on the bag & will keep it to store Vitacost flax meal when it's in stock. Their bag closure is often troublesome.
I typically buy a cheaper ground flaxseed product, but I tried Bob's Red Mill this time since I was buying other products on iHerb and there was a sale. Wow, so glad I tried it, as it tastes better and is more finely ground than the previous product I was using. I really like Bob's Red Mill products, they are always high quality and reasonably priced. This two pound bag is a generous amount and I love that the bag has a Velcro-like closure which makes it very easy to close and will stay fresh. This is now my top choice for ground flaxseed which I eat everyday. Highly recommend this product and you will appreciate the easy bag closure so product will stay fresh.
I enjoyed this product more than the golden flaxseed due to more wholesome nutrition and better taste with even cheaper prices. Bob's mill has been offering a good product with high credibility. Quality and taste are both in high level. When it comes to flaxseed, I think this product is best. For a tip, I dip apple pieces or purple cabbage shred into the flaxseed power and eat every morning. It augments the taste of vegetables and fruits!
Flaxseed is so healthy and helps us in so many ways. I keep mine in the refrigerator and sprinkle it on cereal or put it in smoothies. Flaxseed meal can also be used for baking, and I can attest that it's delicious in many kinds of cookies. Putting it in things like cookies is a terrific way to get your children - and maybe you! - to eat more healthy flax. I've never kept mine out of the refrigerator, so I can't say how well it keeps on your pantry shelf, but it does very well in the refrigerator. I've always found Bob's Red Mill to be a very high quality brand, no matter what product you buy, and one that I could trust completely, and this flaxseed is no different.
