Same great oatmeal. I couldn't give 5 stars as Bob's has made the package smaller. My last purchase the package was 32 oz. The package is now 28 oz for the same price. Shrink-flation strikes again!
So warming and comforting on a chilly morning before stepping out into a day of deadlines and whatever else. Only takes a sec to cook 'em up, and I prefer their consistency to long-cooking oats. Can be made creamier to taste, savory or sweet, keeps me going all morning. Bob's Red Mill never disappoints, I use many of their grains, flours, and GF mixes.
This product has a lot oat byproduct shells ect. Plus I purchased the quick oat vs the thick oats, these came out super mushy and jelly like, I might have to put to much water.
I am sensitive to Gluten so it is good that this does not have any. and it it non gmo..I am still sensitive to oats, but I eat no bake cookies. I take digestive enzymes and make them with 1/2 coconut oil, 1/2 grass fed butter, maple syrup and Swerve, organic peanut butter. Eat it because it satisfies my sweet tooth.
I pour boiling water on these, add fruit & sweetener. Very quick! Also use them w/ a little oil & maple syrup as a crust to semi-stewed apples. Bake all a bit at 350 & makes a great crisp!
The texture is a little different than some other quick-cooking oatmeal but after my second bowl, I liked it better than the others. Love that it's gluten free, organic, and very quick to prepare. When it's ready to serve, I mix in a little butter, about a tablespoon of raw cacao or regular cocoa powder, top with whipped canned coconut milk, and I have a delicious breakfast that keeps me going until mid-afternoon.
We go through a lot of these wonderful oats! I make my son large batches of overnight oatmeal pancake batter that I keep in the refrigerator; that way, he can make as many pancakes as he wants before work, after work, and on weekends. I appreciate that these oats are organic, gluten-free, and non-GMO. Thank you, Vitacost, for offering this great product at a reasonable price.
