Old Fashioned Rolled Oats make a delicious, chewy, wholesome hot cereal that will give you lasting energy throughout the morning. Also a great choice for classic oatmeal raisin cookies, homemade granola, and oatmeal bread. Beyond oatmeal, there are many ways you can cook with oats. They make a great crispy coating; they extend meatloaf and burgers, while enhancing their juiciness; and they can make a savory side dish.

I LOVE Bob’s Red Mill products. I buy as many products as I can from this line. The whole grain old fashioned oats are among my favorites. They are gluten free, Non- GMO certified, great nutritional value and very high quality. They taste VERY good too! They are excellent for making overnight oats or oatmeal and for baking and adding to smoothies or using as a topping. There are so many uses for oats and there is a website on the bag for recipe suggestions. I highly recommend these particular oats and ANY Bob’s Red Mill products

I was very happy to review Bob's Red Mill Old Fashioned Rolled Oats free to review from Social Nature. It is Gluten-Free therefore my husband with Celiac Disease can eat them. I like that there is a high source of fiber very easy to make. I used 1/2 cup (one serving) of old fashioned rolled oats, 1 cup of water with a pinch of salt. You could either do the stovetop method- bring water to a boil, add the rolled oats plus a pinch of salt then stir for 10 minutes or Microwave method which you put on high for two minutes. Make sure you cover therefore you do not have oatmeal all over your microwave. I prefer the microwave method to set my microwave to 1 minute then stir in between then 1 more minute. I learned the hard way not to put my oats in a small bowl because I had oatmeal everywhere. I also replaced the water for milk or almond milk if I wanted more protein. I added a bit of brown sugar fresh strawberries. The Bob's Red Mill Old Fashioned Rolled Oats is not just for breakfast. I also made apple crisp oatmeal cookies with them. I will always keep a bag of Bob's Red Mill Old Fashioned Rolled Oats on hand not only for breakfast but also for my desert. @socialnature @bobsredmill #trynatural #breakfastwithbobs #gotitfree

These oats has been a favorite of mine for years. I can make it stovetop or in the microwave. Great texture and nice oat flavor. It is a staple of mine and I like to add my usual Ceylon cinnamon, cardamom, almond milk or oat milk, and either butter or some good olive oil. Depending on my mood, I will add blueberries, hemp seeds, pecans, etc. Great to bake with and make some really good oatmeal cookies.

17 parts per million is probably more than I can handle unfortunately

I have extremely aggressive sensitivity to Gluten, and I really also like porridge, and last month I had begun to eat these oats for breakfast every day. By the end of that period I was questioning everything I ate that could possibly have become contaminated or did not have a GF logo on the package. Fortunately since I began to not eat the oatmeal at all this has begun to clear up. This is not hard evidence of anything unfortunately as finding safe options for me can be a bit like the paranoia of COVID when the pandemic was first called, it's invisible and it's everywhere and I never know where it came from when I catch it.I have to assume based on the clear information presented on this page that due to the nature of oat production and storage Bob's Red Mill is ... MoreI have extremely aggressive sensitivity to Gluten, and I really also like porridge, and last month I had begun to eat these oats for breakfast every day. This would explain this issue I have experienced and I appreciate very highly that it is presented openly. It also means if I moderate consumption to once in a while and not as a staple I can still enjoy it.It is a wonderful product and Bob's Red Mill has good transparency. It is just unfortunate I probably can not enjoy it as much as I have been, going forward. And I am just writing this review as the events described above and the deductive reasoning has basically just concluded now.

Excellent!

I've used Bob's Red Mill products for years and have always been 100% satisfied. The organic rolled oats are no exception. If you compare them to the leading seller of non-organic rolled oats there is no comparison. Bob's are head and shoulders above them - you can honestly see it just by visually comparing the oats. And of course by taste - they just taste great. Also, if you eat a lot of oats, I'd recommend you go with organic. More and more evidence shows how non-organic products are laden with chemicals and/or are GMO. From times before I actually was buying non-organic oats that I could get at a big discount store, but after reading articles about the problems with non-organic oats, I stopped and went full organic with Bob's. They are very hearty and great on a cold morning with some honey or maple syrup, cinnamon and raisins. I don't bake a lot but I'm sure they would make killer oatmeal raisin cookies. Oh - I love to use these to make granola or home-made health bars. They provide excellent consistency and are super tasty.

Rolled oats containing lots of husks
22 February 2023

It happens now and again in some batches that the rolled oat packages contain a fair bit of hushs. This makes eating breakfast a terrible experience. While chwing you've got to try and remove these husks bits from your mouth. Why does this happen? Is it something that can't be avoided or is it a matter of bad working habit from some employee who aren't cautious with their line work that let the husks to be included in the rolled oats bags that we consumers buy from the vendors.I wonder if it's the case where sometimes when the product is rushed and the quality is hard to control. I'm considering siwtching brand. I'm sick of having to remove lots of bits of husk while eating oats for breakfast. Photo is just to show from just a few spoons into eating. Tasty and nutritious!
14 November 2021

I really like these Bob's Red Mill gluten free, old fashioned rolled oats. They are tasty and nutritious, easy to fix. I soak mine overnight in water with a TB of yogurt per cup of water in the top of a double boiler. The next morning, I add some chopped apples (optional), plenty of sea salt, and cook over boiling water for 30 minutes or more; I like them good and cooked for the nutritional value and to decrease the phytic acid, thereby increasing nutrient absorption. I usually make 2 dry cups at a time, then portion the cooked oatmeal out into serving bowls with tops for the week - nutrition and convenience, can't beat it! I also pre-make topping jars to dump on top of the reheated oatmeal (sweetner, protein powder, nuts/seeds, spices, etc). So yummy!
