I contacted several contractors and all said “Polish must be stripped, total refinish necessary to restore floor at a cost of $3000 plus! Horrible product. Followed all instructions. Polish left a chalky white streaky finish on my beautiful cherrywood hardwood floor. Contacted Bona and they had me read the 8 numbers on back of bottle. Said this was from 2019 because number began with a 19. Said their product “does not expire but may breakdown!!” There are no expiration dates on bottles and no warning this could ruin your floor, so how would consumer know this was old product? It ruined my floor and they don’t care! Contacted 3 contractors to correct the floor all said same DO NOT USE BONA ! Will now cost me $3000 to refinish!!

High gloss vs Low sheen
1 September 2024

I have always used the low gloss ready to use cleaner on my Bruce floors. Have always been happy. I use it with a floor polisher so it is quick and leaves a nice low gloss sheen. I used the high gloss today for the first time and the jury is out. It goes on well and polishes quite nicely. I have a large room and I can't keep going in a line blending half wet with wet, so the issue came when I was trying to blend the dry with wet, left cloudy area as though I had cleaned with a dirty mop.......I ended up stripping the whole lot off and using the old low gloss which is much easier to blend wet and dry areas. Not sure if I will use this again, will probably stick with the low gloss one

Love the gloss!

Looks beautiful!! My solid oak floors were refinished and then a topcoat of polyurethane was applied back in 1985. They looked great for about 39 years. Then this year I hired a painter who dripped paint all over the floor. I had to clean up the drips and it just wasn't as beautiful as before. I vacuumed and used the BONA floor cleaner first and then applied the Bona Hardwood Floor Polish High Glass. It looks great on the half that I've done so far. I'm going to wait until tomorrow to move the furniture and polish the other half. Directions say wait one hour. I think I'll let it go until morning. On another note: I did see the photo of the floor that another customer posted (they have it a one start rating) I had a problem similar in another area of my house that ... MoreLooks beautiful!! I went ahead and started to clean that floor with a mop n glo product and it was a disaster, thankfully in a very small area. THEN I read the directions that Mirage wants you to use nothing BUT their own brand cleaner. I don't know if that other customer also had Mirage floor or not, but if so-get the Mirage floor cleaner and follow the instructions and it will come up loking good

Greetings Sir or Madame: I have been using the recommended Bona with the Young Baby Feet on Front of the Packaging for my Lifetime Mahogany Elm Wood Floors for many years, then I could no longer find it on my local store shelves. I tried the Newer, Water Based, Blue Colored, Bona, yet I never achieved, the same quality of Performance, as I had previously received, from the Bona mentioned earlier, than while using the Bona with the Young Baby Feet on Front of the Packaging. I then tried the Bona Polish. It did not work for me. Trying to remove it was a whole new different ballgame. Things became worst. Ok, sooo 10 plus years ago we bought a house with wood floors. The kitchen, dining room and hallways had a high gloss gunstock oak wood floor. There was already some kind of finish on the floor. Every single floor expert I asked told me only ever clean it with water and a little bit of vinegar. For 10 years I did that. In the wear spots around the kitchen island and in front of the fridge, the floor got really dull so I tried the polish. It looks great. But I’m not putting it on the areas where the finish is still good. There’s no way in heck I would ever, ever put this on a new floor, but when you’re trying to postpone a refinish anyway i figured what’s the harm anyway. I do use the floor cleaner on the rest and it temporarily looses its luster and streaks if I’m lazy but it goes away and the floor is clean. Personally I usually spot clean my wood rather than weekly mop the whole thing like you would other floors. I don’t think wood floors are designed to withstand weekly mopping tho I sweep almost every day. With Covid my house is always occupied because everyone’s working or learning at home so I’m noticing the floor is dirty faster. But if I had a newer floor I’d not use this product until the wear is so bad that you’ll try to help it.

14 December 2022

The high gloss polish did an excellent job on my floors but I did make one small mistake. I followed the directions carefully, first vacuuming, dust mopping with a Bona mop, washing with their cleaner system, gently agitating the polish bottle. I estimated about how much I would need for my floor area and squirted the polish in an S pattern. Then I spread it with their mop. The final floor looked great except one small section where I had neglected to spread the S material and it began to dry along the edges and I couldn't spread it evenly and completely in this small patch. So, divide your floor into sections and work each section. Don't let the material start to dry (20-30 min???) before spreading.

very beautifulmust have debris free floor, what ever is on your floor will stay molded. clean slate is bestI used clean dust mop to apply against grain then finished with, leveling is very nice, thick so wet (water) dust mop allowing spread of application. Will use again. wishing I could of had second bottle. second bottle would cause a very shiny and thicker protection.
