I have the Makita version of this saw which is only good for very lightweight jobs...I decided I would go with the Bosch Pro saw as its claimed to be used by trades people, meaning heavy use in construction ??I've only used it about 6 times and it appears to be far superior than the Makita version, time will tell..In use, its a lovely well balanced piece of equipment. I also have the plane and the router in the same range and I'm well pleased with these, well balanced, nice weight and really easy to use and set up..

Perfect for small or DIY projects at home, would not recommend it without a work table, the tool is light but the location of the electric motor protubes in ways that can make it a challenge to manipulate the tool during certain cuts, so be mindful. It also works good for wood under 2.5 cm thick.Battery life is quite dynamic and lasts a decent amount of time or work should I say, over 45 min in cuts under 2 m long in average. The tool is steady, it can be very precise as long as the experience or the work table allows you keep balance.

I'm renovating a barn and am currently working on the cladding. I figured since I was doing the work myself and saving on a builder, I could afford a decent saw - I am so glad I did. The process of cutting the T&G has sped up enormously plus I don't have to take the planks to the big chop saw I have and can do it in situ. I was so impressed with the quality I also bought a Bosch drill and a driver with the hexagonal thing at the front (not a chuck). Expensive but what a combination and a fraction of the cost of getting in someone else.I have a battery for each tool and one on charge so never have to wait and the batteries last plenty of time anyway. Easily held with one hand if need be but better if the other hand guides so you go straighter. If this is the sort of saw you are thinking of needing, you won't be disappointed. 10/10.

I have little use for a circular saw but was considering hiring one for construction of a bespoke shed for my son. As I already have a number of Bosch 10.8 / 12V tools I thought I would give this a try. It performance far exceeded my expections and was able to make a good many cuts of 8x4 boards ( up to 18mm ply) on a single charge. As I have a number of batteries rotating them meant I was never held up. Key is to take the cut at a leisurely pace and if you want it to be accurate use a straight edge clamped to the board.I now use this saw in the workshop for the occasional parting of large boards down to handleable size for my table saw.Note: If you are a heavy user of circular saws this will not be the tool for you.
When I got it out of the box, I thought it was going to be really weak but thanks to that ultra thin blade it tears through stuff. The main thing about this saw is that it's not one of those direct drive rip snorters. The blade is geared down and feels more like a worm drive saw. It's quiet, it doesn't try and break your wrist and unlike a worm drive it's light. It could easily fit in a rucksack. Take a bunch of spare batteries though. My only gripe so far is the lack of blade variety offered by Bosch. More TPI needed
Light in weight and quite small, I've found this saw to be surprisingly acurate for straight vertical and 45 degree cuts. The guide accessory is very effective. Overall package is well designed. It does have the limitations you might expect given the low power - cutting is fairly slow and the finish doesn't match the smoothness of a big powerful 6,000 RPM saw but it's usable in places where a big saw would be impractical. Not sure how long the blades will last. Reliability score based on the other Bosch tools.I have had the Bosch 12v (formerly 10.8V) system for years and I needed a couple more batteries, otherwise I would have gone for the bare saw at about half the price.
I bought this saw after seeing a roofer using something similar to cut rocklath. It's now one of my favorite tools.I was going to buy the Makita version as all my 18v tools are from the manufacturer, but as I had a 12v Bosch drill and charger in 12v I picked this.Just 2 observations, you will need at least a 4 amp battery and the supplied fence is poor.I run mine up against a roofing square and the back edge of my Makita plunge saw rail. The Bosch rail is not worth the money in my opinion. All in all a great addition to a toolkit and you will be surprised how much you use it.
A very useful addition to the workshop's tools. In a small workshop there isn't much room to move around an 8 X 4 sheet of board. This neat little saw means I can cut off a piece and then true it up on the table saw. I planned its use to be cutting up an 8 X 4 sheet at the supplier in order to fit it into my car. Make sure the batteries are fully charged and beware the green series of Bosch cordless tools as they have a different fitting battery with two flanges. Use the blue series.
