As technology developing and wireless headphones are what you looking for in a crowded bus or plane - for indoor chillout - that's my pick. For serious job or for an audiofile - look at the higher shelf. For chillout, loud neighbor or snoring suppression - I highly recommend it.

And can I just say, the sound quality is amazing! It is a very dynamic range so I was a bit worried that the bass might not have as much umpf as I like, but I was pleasantly surprised. It definitely rivals the Sony extra bass headphones which I really liked, but was so much more comfortable. I also like that the cable is detachable and it comes with a case so I can throw it in my cabin bag or purse without worrying about damaging it.So overall great comfort for long hours of listening; noise cancelling is as good as, if not better than, earbuds; you have the option to turn noise cancelling on and off which is great when you want music but know you need to keep tabs on your surroundings; great sound quality - crisp and clear; bass is definitely there for us bass lovers; and in-line mic and control that works flawlessly with iPhone :)

Hopefully, the earpad material will last and not disintegrate overtime. If it does, there are replacement ear pads that can be purchased.The comfort is on point for me. I have used them on 2 oversea flights of 6+ hours and they remained comfortable throughout the flight. They warm up like any over-ear headphones do normally, but I don't have an issue with this this on flights as it's always a bit chilly on the plane for me anyway. I wear glasses and the headband and ear cups don't pinch too much on the eye glass arms on my over-sized head. This is a problem I have with other headphone brands, but not this one! Also, I appreciate that the ear cups are large to the point that my entire ear fits inside without any contact with the ear pads. This is due to the fact that BOSE used less ear pad material, but in this case it works and I think they are more comfortable for me than having a overstuffed ear pad like some manufacturers tend to do. Good job BOSE on this!The battery life is great as its rated for 30+ hours on a single AAA battery(included). I have not had to replace the battery yet and believe that it could last as advertised. The included case is nice and holds the included 3.5mm cable, which is detachable(important when you just want to sit there and enjoy some quiet without listening to any music), accessory adapter for the plane if needed. The case is compact for travel as the headphones fold nicely and overall, these headphones in the case don't take up much room in the bag.Regarding noise-cancelling, these are excellent and probably only topped by the newer QC35's overall. I picked these over the pricier QC35's because they are simpler to operate(3.5mm cable and 1 button to turn on the noise-cancelling), battery-operated and much cheaper when I bought them($178 vs. $349 for the QC 35's). Also, I don't have to recharge them, I can simply swap out the battery(there is a slot in the case to store an extra battery) or I could use a rechargeable AAA if I wanted to go that route. My girlfriend has the QC 35's and I compared my QC 25's noise cancelling and while the QC 35's are slightly better, it is not significantly better to justify the twice the cost to me. The QC 25's are a much better deal and bang for your buck in my opinion, especially when you can catch them on sale!
Most of you looking at a pair of Bose NC headphones this expensive probably already know that Bose is pretty much the king of active noise cancellation (though recent reviews would have you believe that Sony may have just dethroned Bose for most capable NC--maybe). And true to that reputation, you'll be hard-pressed to find a noise-cancelling headphone that sounds THIS good for this price that does NC so exceptionally well. But again, you probably already knew that.So what remains when all the OTHER aspects of the headphone are taken into account...what do you have when the NC is taken out of the picture? Personally, ... MoreMost of you looking at a pair of Bose NC headphones this expensive probably already know that Bose is pretty much the king of active noise cancellation (though recent reviews would have you believe that Sony may have just dethroned Bose for most capable NC--maybe). And true to that reputation, you'll be hard-pressed to find a noise-cancelling headphone that sounds THIS good for this price that does NC so exceptionally well. But again, you probably already knew that.So what remains when all the OTHER aspects of the headphone are taken into account...what do you have when the NC is taken out of the picture? A few notes to consider while you're deciding if these are right for you.First, no...there's no lithium rechargeable battery--it's a plain-old AAA. Personally, however, I love the fact that the battery is user-replaceable...no worrying about EVER having to scrap the headphones just because the battery no longer holds a charge. And if you have a really long flight/bus trip ahead of you, just pack an extra AAA. Better still, you can still operate the headphones in wired mode even if the battery dies completely, though in truth, they actually sound BETTER when the noise cancellation is activated (which I don't understand because usually NC degrades sound quality).Second, speaking of wires, the wired iOS remote does everything it's supposed to do. Strain relief seems adequate though I can't really comment on longevity as I've only had them a few months now. Yeah, bluetooth would be nice, but the tradeoff there is that the QC35 is more expensive, doesn't have a user-replaceable battery, and compromises just slightly on wireless fidelity because it doesn't use the higher quality AptX codex.Finally...down to comfort. At first I thought I was going to be in heaven; these cans are very light and the cushioning on the ear pads is incredibly soft and luxurious. However, the ear openings themselves are somewhat narrow even though they're fairly tall so you might feel some pressure on some portion of your ear or another (probably the back edges) if you just can't get your ears to fit quite right between the lips of the ear pads. I also find that the headband, though very comfortable to the touch, becomes a bit bothersome over time because it's relatively thin and the clamping force applied down across a wide swathe of the head is fairly substantial. I can wear these comfortably for a few hours, but for very extended sessions, the backs of my ears (the helix I believe they're called) start to burn and I'm forced to re-adjust the whole assembly forward or backward on my head (to relieve headband pain) and back-to-front to give my ears a break. Bottom line, the weight and design SHOULD be very accommodating for most people, but just to be safe, I recommend trying them on in person to make sure you know what you're getting into.All that said, these are still some great cans for what they do. I have much better headphones for when I'm doing some serious listening, but for travel phones that wrap you in an almost silent sonic cocoon, there's really not much competition. For example, I have the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 2.0 around-the-ear; definitely a much better headphone when it comes to sound quality (refinement, presentation, detail, etc.), but the Bose still bests that $400 set of cans when it comes to noise-cancellation...so if that's what you're after first and foremost, you'll likely be glad you paid Bose's price of admission.
I bought these because of noisy neighbors . they are great for listening to music, but do absolutely nothing to block the outside noise as far as I can tell . I had a pair of these, bought new, around 13 years ago, and those blocked absolutely all outside sound . they were perfect . I was hoping that these would be the same, but as they are refurbished, that sound blocking feature is no longer there.
