Great gear. It has a lot of new functions, useful for a live show. The only thing I am missing is the ability to change banks on the fly - which btw the old Digitech Jamman Stereo has. Other than that, this device gives you all the flexibility you need to make a great show. A great feature is the multi-ouput (configurable). Now you can connect different guitars or devices routed to different outputs. Great!

Boss absolutely nailed it with the rc600. 5 minutes after opening the box I was shredding piano solos over bass and guitar tracks with beatboxing and some coins I shook (couldn't find my shaker lol). It's pricy but absolutely worth it for the ease of use. Really no learning curve. Well constructed, tons of inputs and even sub outs. Tons of features to explore but this looper is awesome.

I loved the RC-300, but it didn't sound that great and was definitely lacking some features. It also took some crazy setting up to get it to do what I wanted. I was hoping the RC-600 would solve all those routing and sound issues and allow me to just plug in a mic and guitar and have one lead coming out to the PA . This it does! All the effects, routing eq and mixing are handled inside the box and this keeps the outside world nice and simple. The best thing though is that you can now select which input is recorded on each loop, so you can have just guitar and just vocal loops - handy for breakdowns etc. This makes me very happy indeed. Some people could struggle with the tiny screen and all the menus but it's worth persevering, once you have it set up it sounds ... MoreI loved the RC-300, but it didn't sound that great and was definitely lacking some features. Waited three months and it showed up with a broken knob. They're out of stock again so I assume the exchange process would also take months. Probably just returning it.I can already tell that it has some of the same drawbacks as the rc505 in terms of midi connectivity. I can get it to sync up and start the first loop on beat, but then subsequent loops (or even that first one if I clear it and try again) lose the downbeat after that. Not sure why that would be but I can't get it to find the downbeat again until I turn it off and back on. Even starting fresh on a new memory it won't lock in again without a total reset. They advertise all these capabilities and different loop modes/behaviors but don't mention that if you're trying to sync it with anything then most ... MoreWaited three months and it showed up with a broken knob. Even starting fresh on a new memory it won't lock in again without a total reset. They advertise all these capabilities and different loop modes/behaviors but don't mention that if you're trying to sync it with anything then most of the modes are even an option. As far as I can tell midi sync only starts recording on the downbeat if you have loop sync on, meaning the start of each phrase is lined up. So then if two phrases aren't the same length and you try to switch between them they start in the wrong spot. This essentially means that only one setting out of all of them can be used with midi (loops synced/same length or multiples). Far less versatile than what is advertised. I don't know about you guys but I play lots of songs where sections aren't all the same length. I suppose you could program in the specific number or measures for each phrase before recording and maybe that would work but I'm doing bar gigs and taking requests and stuff. I can't stop and map all that out in advance.Even when it is synced, the phrases I record still sound glitchy like they're being quantized even though hypothetically it shouldn't need to be stretched at all if the start and end points are synced with the metronome. These kinds of limitations aren't mentioned anywhere in the documentation. The manual is only like 20 pages and doesn't go into any detail about any of this. You just have to spend the money and figure out what doesn't work on your own. Very frustrating.I like the fact that it has 6 loops per memory. And the idea of being able to "bounce" one track to another is brilliant. I've always used two loop stations to recreate that, and would very much appreciate the flexibility of having it built in. It probably works great if you're just looping on the fly without a metronome but I specifically bought it for use with a drum machine because they advertised so much more functionality in that area. Beyond disappointed.
I've had an Rc505 for a year or so now and was excited to get my hands on this RC600. The floor setup is great, although you can't quite do everything with your feet. With a shoe off you can do most of the functions with a toe, but you still have to bend over to mess with it. The included drum loops in this are a massive upgrade from the RC505. Tons of character and room to play around with there - even settings for fills etc at the end of loops. I've only had this two days, so I'll update my review after some more time with it, but so far I feel like it sounds better, the extra instrument and mic inputs are a huge boost, and overall it's been pretty easy to use coming from the 505.
The RC 600 is an amazing looper. i started with a rc 500 and immediately upgraded since i wanted more tracks. there is a huge learning curve so dont buy this unless you are willing to spend a lot of timed learning the functions. its worth the effort though.
As I have said previously it was for my son. He is now using it, pretty successfully considering he has no previous looper experience. I believe that it is somewhat more user friendly than my TC Helicon voicelive 3 Extreme, purchased from Andertons some years ago. There are so many facilities on this that I believe he has only scratched the surface which makes it such a tremendous value for money product. I'm quite sure it will hold his interest for some time to come. If it had been around when I bought my voicelive 3ex I would probably have chosen it.
I am really disappointed with this pedal. I've had a lot of issues with bugs and it just doesn't do what it is advertised to do. This pedal is not dependable enough to gig with it crashes and has this odd tempo bug that train wrecks the whole song. It has embarrassed me in front of a live audience several times now and I am over it.I don't work for Boss and I shouldn't have to beta test their pedals unless they are gonna give me them for free.If you're gear isn't dependable enough to gig with, it is essentially a toy. I will never trust Boss again.
First off, I didn't have the latest firmware update, and loops were going a bit wonky and astray. With latest firmware and most issues solved, I'm finding this an absolute joy, particularly with the fuller, less 'in the box' sound that looper tend to get when you pile lots of loops on top of each other- so much space and headroom.I came from the RC300, but was still a lot of work to get my head around even setting up as before, but worth it in the end. Particularly useful to the way I loop are the 4banks of 4 effects which I can now preset for each song, and scroll through with a foot pedal with so many fewer clicks than previously. Okay, slightly weird what floats the boat of a looper, I know... but, less clicks! Also loving that I can assign 3 of the 4 effects ... MoreFirst off, I didn't have the latest firmware update, and loops were going a bit wonky and astray. Okay, slightly weird what floats the boat of a looper, I know... but, less clicks! Also loving that I can assign 3 of the 4 effects to my violin (INST in) and 1 to my MIC in. Didn't think I'd be bothered by the 3 extra loops, but now I've less effect clicking to do I'm finding that loops 4-6 do get used, and arrangements are getting more varied. It's also physically smaller, and saved me taking extra pedals - really important and so damn useful for me, when travelling. A fabulous piece of kit.PS: I'm also so enjoying the 6 outputs, too - it's solved a long-standing mic and inst out of the same output dilemma.
Absolute weapon of a tool! I am midi syncing it with an Alesis Strike Multipad, to use in a 3 piece band. We sound HUGE!!I have only just scratched the surface of the RC600's capabilities and am stoked! I also own a Boss GT1000, so the controls are similar in use to the RC600. Made it more intuitive for a first time user.Solid construction and reliable feel to all components. Not a small unit, but definitely smaller than previous iterations of Boss loopers. I really love the ability to sync with the multipad and also quantise the RC600 loops- all 6 tracks.
