Brabantia NewIcon Pedal Bin Recycle 2x2L Matt Steel

Absolutely Fantastic bin! A little bit on the pricey side, but this bin also comes with a 10 year warranty and the lid is solid and tough. (you also get free bin liners bonus!)Our cheaper very similar looking bin (half the price) from others warehouse lid broke and we only bought it 4 months ago. We were really annoyed and disappointed about that. Unfortunately this 'little bit' pricey bin was the only thing online the same size and white- so I splurged and bought it because there weren't any other cheaper options. BUT I really don't regret it! sometimes: 'you get what you pay for' It was a real blessing in disguise. BUT I really don't regret it! sometimes: 'you get what you pay for' It was a real blessing in disguise. The lid on this bin glides like an angel descending from heaven but hangs on tight like a demon to an unfortunate soul. I have so much confidence in this brand now and I really recommend it. They also boast about being environmentally friendly and conscious~ something I immediately regretted as we have had to throw away our old bin purely due to it's flimsy lid which we were unable to fix.Another thing I like about this bin is that it completely seals in the rubbish and bag when it closes. Not only does that look much nicer than having plastic flapping out the side, but you don't smell your rubbish. We use our bin in the kitchen, and sometimes we put scraps in there so that's very useful for us.

Awesome!

This trash can is awesome. I’m actually using it for used cat litter. I wanted a can small enough for me to reuse plastic shopping bags and hold back smells. It’s perfect for that. I just hold my foot on the pedal to hold it open and scoop. Then the lid slowly closes and I walk away, no smells!

Beautiful, Quality, Could use some design improvements

Incredibly good build quality as expected from Brabantia but there is a bit of a wobble of the base/bin when the peddle is pressed fully and the lid opens. I bought a fingerprint proof silver and white and both exhibit the same behaviour. From what I can see the lids weight when fully opened makes the bin back heavy and lifts the front slightly off the ground. Making the bottom heavier may help but then I'm not an engineer.

Decent Little Bin

Bought it for a specific spot in my kitchen. Sturdy good looking little bin. The only drawback of this pedal bin is it sometimes doesn’t want to close by itself after you release the pedal then you just have to nudge it a-bit for it to close. But other than that I’m happy with it. And super happy with Brabantia service. Will recommend them any day.

Good Quality... BUT

I purchased this bathroom bin in 'Mineral Grey' and I am happy with the quality and the design. It is recommended inside the lid of the bin to purchase 'V' 3 litre Code Pink bin liners... The bin arrives with a few complementary liners. BUT the bin liners are not available on-line or stocked in my nearest JL store. I purchased a pack of style A Brabantia 3 litre liners that were available to buy. They do not work with this bathroom bin. They do not fit discreetly and the bin will not soft close with them hung over and then tucked inside the bin . I selected this bathroom bin to look sleek and discreet with a bin liner. Please sort out this issue JL I would never have purchased this product if I had realised that the liners were not available to buy from you.

Great as a Diaper Pail

We have used this as a diaper pail for two babies. I found it to be perfect for our needs- great size, very stylish in the nurseries, and did a great job keeping the stink contained. I would add a tablespoon of charcoal to the bag if ever it got too stinky, but the can did a really good job of keeping it inside. Unfortunately we moved across the country and the jackhole moving company dented the heck out of it and it doesnt close properly now. I was hoping to replace it, but the price has jumped since my original purchase four years ago. The whole reason that I bought a trashcan instead of an actual diaper pail was to avoid the ridiculous (and unjustified) prices. Unless the bin is going to walk out to the garage and empty itself, Im not paying over $60 for a trash can.

I highly recommend this kitchen bin!

Excellent Brabantia kitchen bin! Elegant in my kitchen. Nice but discreet satin colour. It does not slip on the parquet and it is slow motion lid. I am very satisfied with my choice and the service I received from the company. It was easy to order and I received the item within three days which is excellent. I highly recommend this kitchen bin

Product does not match picture on website

This product is not as pictured, it has a shiny glitter tone which I didn't expect. Unfortunately, we needed them urgently so had to use but I would have preferred to have one that matches the picture which looks matte. But functionally it works. My second issue with Brabantia SA is that the bin liners are always sold out so can't purchase the liners that fit perfectly.Lastly, the delivery time was absolutely terrible, I had to escalate to the head of customer care as Aramex had not delivered within 5 working days.

They discontinued the colour

Relatively happy with the size and functionality. Annoyed, because less than a week after buying 2 of the metallic mint bins i wanted to buy matching toilet brush holders. The colour had been discontinued without warning, and items in that colour went on sale. So now the only place I could buy a matching toilet brush is a questionable looking site at nearly £60 each. So now I have platiunum coloured toilet brush holders and metallic mint bins, which is not what I wanted, eclectic one might say, but certainly not matching.

i love this bin!

I would normally not think there is much to write home about a bin, but my gosh... Brabantia has gone and done it right.I have a tiny home with a tiny kitchen, so 20 L is just right, and i am glad to, because this is how i am able to afford a Brabantia product. They have made this bin in such a way that the lid closes down slowly and therefore generates very little noise. It is good looking, cleverly conceived, i am super happy with this purchase!
