Instead of swinging open it pulls right off the bin. This is a handsome product that fails to do its job. 5 stars for style, 1 star for functionality.

I purchased this trash bin but not for trash. I was looking for a tall, skinny bin to hold cat litter, and this works perfectly. Now I can buy it in bulk and not have to deal with multiple cardboard boxes. I highly recommend this bin for whatever purpose suits your needs.

A visitor to my place laughed when she saw this bin and asked how I managed to find one that went so well with my furniture. I love the color, and that it's not an ugly industrial-looking waste bin. The handle is perfect for taking it downstairs and out to the recycling area. And the lid fits well and comes off easily. Great find.

To do that the lid has two tabs fitted into slots that act as a hinge but this configuration is not secure. When lifting the lid up it consistently detaches from the bin. Instead of swinging open it pulls right off the bin. This is a handsome product that fails to do its job. 5 stars for style, 1 star for functionality.

Who knew a bin could be so great! It's sleek modern clean designs suits many kitchen styles for me the size was perfect for fitting well in a slim space. It's really lightweight and having a carry handle it's so easy to take out to the main disposal bin. The perfect fit bags mean the bags fit snugly and fit the bin exactly the easy pull handles make for closing up easy when transferring. The bin while slim holds much more than you expect, it's lightweight so easy to lift... The lid opening is large and leaves clear clean space to put in the rubbish, I've not seen my bin remian so clean with all my monsters around using it. Who knew I could really like a bin
I'm really pleased with the Brabantia Sort and Go 40litre bin. I was worried that it would be the dark grey bin, as online it says 'grey' but shows a picture of the 'light grey' model. It is the light grey model. Which I'd say is more cream than grey in case that helps anyone. The photo online is accurate colour. I'm pleased because it goes perfectly with the colours in my kitchen. The muted tone makes it look less like a typical ugly bin. Shame the handle is black, as that cheapens the look. So far I've bought 2 of the small gray ones with the compostable bags. They are very stylish and a discreet way to hide the trash. I use one in my vehicle for my recyclable cans and trash which I then sort and dispose of at home, reusing the bag many times. It keeps the interior of the car very neat. I use the other outside on the patio for peanut shells, emptying ash trays, all sorts of small trash.It cleans up easily in the sink. I want more!
Superb easy to empty.The handle really helps . The bin takes up very little space. Excellent design. I Bought the Standard waste bin and that was excellent design too which made me try this bin . I am not disappointed. Both are superb.

Great product for my mixed recycling. Well made, just as expected from picture & size is spot-on (ordered grey). Above all it blends into the kitchen & I've been able to ditch the eyesore I used to have. I like it so much that I'm going to order another one for soft plastic recycling !
