Braun ThermoScan 7 Ear Thermometer IRT6520

I’m a nurse, bit skeptical of the accuracy of an alternative brand I have. But this one is a winner, very gentle in adult ears, ease of accurate use for angling to get an accurate measure. Great timing, purchased before having our baby, the whole house ended up getting COVID, so super reassuring to have this. Very simple to use, and easy memory recall function. Got it on special, the price reflects the quality. The beeps are notable, but not as obnoxious as some models,

Oh the nostalgia this thing brings. Growing up my family had an older model of this thermometer, so that thing got stuck in my ear whenever I got sick. We have the newer version now which has a better display as it lights up (you couldn’t read the old one in the dark). The thing is very accurate, more so than forehead thermometers and not nearly as invasive as some other types out there. Make sure you figure out where to buy the disposable covers, though, as it can’t be used without them.

I bought this thermometer when. We were having issues with my daughter getting sick a lot. I needed a reading quickly yet accurate because trying to hold her down to take a temp for to be frustrating. I love this thermometer, and even use it for myself and by husband. I’ve brought it in to the doctor’s office with me to “check” it and it’s always matched what they get. My biggest frustration is that it needs a cover to be used. When I ran out and didn’t have the extras easily accessible after moving, I ended up just wiping down the last one with water and a paper towel until I could locate my extras.

A few months ago my fiancé and baby both came down with covid. Before we were sure they were actually positive I was taking both their temps, and I had a forehead thermometer, a oral one, and a few other kinds. I got a different reading on those devices every single time. None of them were the least bit accurate. My fiancé sent me to cvs to buy the best one, I picked the most expensive forehead one assuming it would definitely be accurate. That wasn’t even close either, so I took it back. My mom found this thermometer and read that it had great reviews and sure enough it was finally giving us accurate consistent readings and I was confident that I was accurately monitoring my baby’s fevers. I actually really appreciate getting this one to test as my last thermometer died and finding a battery to replace it with was a right mare. The design of the thermometer is very sturdy, practical and feels good quality. I like how you can change the ear protector part so its nice and clean for each use. The instructions were easy to follow and the use of it was so easy that even my daughter who is under 10 was able to use it and test it out on me and could understand what to do with it (I'm not going to test it out on her without testing it out on myself first). Firstly thankyou to Braun and Influenster for allowing me to review this product as it couldn’t have come at a better time as my little one has been fighting a cold all week! Now, I’m very surprised at how well my 9 month old sat still and allowed me to take her temperature as she is very much a fidget! But it takes no more than 3 seconds to do which obviously helps a bunch to not have to sit them still for long periods of time. I tried it twice and got the same result which gives me peace of mind that it is an accurate machine. Thankfully her temperature was normal for her age, which brings me to using the actual machine. So it has 3 different age ranges: 0-3 months, 3-36 months and 36 months-Adult. It lit up green which instantly shows you that it’s in the normal range before you even look so see what the temperature is which helps alot! It also will light up yellow and red depending on the temperature reading it gives. It comes with a little card which shows you what range your normal temperature should be at certain ages. Also it shows you how to use the product although I didn’t really need to use it as it was ready to use! It comes with a small box of hygienic covers for the top of the thermometer so you can change between people as you wish. The thermometer offered me peace of mind and reassurance after using it to check my children’s temperature and my own temperature. The thermometer is easy to turn on and the 60 second auto switch off is really useful. The 3 age precision options are really helpful to use and it is suitable for the whole family to use the thermometer. When the temperature has been successfully taken, it beeps to let you know that an accurate temperature has been taken. The display is large, clear and it’s simple to read the temperature reading from it.

It's a good thermometer. I bought one of these from another shop less than two years ago as the GP I take my child to uses these. I used a cheaper brand initially that gave inaccurate reading so I didn't know when my child had really high temperature. It's worth paying bit more for brands like this due to that. However my previous ThermoScan 7 broke and wouldn't even start after about 1.5 years. When contacted Braun, they said seller should provide 2 years warranty. But I couldn't find receipt for previous purchase from a different seller so I bought again from Asda as their website specifically stated 2 years warranty. There were sellers on ebay and amazon who doesn't state anything about warranty so I didn't buy from them. All in all, it's a good thermometer ... MoreIt's a good thermometer. Great product at a good price and fast delivery

I already own this item and bought this as a gift for a friend. The thermometer is easy and quick to use, I would recommend this to parents as I have found this much better to use on a baby or toddler than the under the arm thermometers, especially when your child is upset or fidgety.The packaging for the item I received from Aldi however was slightly damaged which is not great since i intended to be a gift but the product itself seems fine.
