I've been using it for just over 2 months was starting to see good results when it broke. It started overheating to the point where it would burn a bit, even on perfectly clean-shaven areas where I no longer have any hair! Then the motor started making funny noises and shortly thereafter, the lights on the sides went about half red/half white and the unit became unresponsive. The first time it happened, I figured it was a fluke and unplugged it to let it cool down for a while and was able to use it again a couple of hours later. However, this happened again during the next two sessions, as well, and they weren't even super long sessions. MoreI've been using it for just over 2 months was starting to see good results when it broke. It started overheating to the point where it would burn a bit, even on perfectly clean-shaven areas where I no longer have any hair! Then the motor started making funny noises and shortly thereafter, the lights on the sides went about half red/half white and the unit became unresponsive. The first time it happened, I figured it was a fluke and unplugged it to let it cool down for a while and was able to use it again a couple of hours later. However, this happened again during the next two sessions, as well, and they weren't even super long sessions. I've used other devices in the same electrical outlets for years without issue, so I don't think it was user error, and I followed the instructions to the letter. I'll be returning this to take advantage of the 100 day money back guarantee and replacing it with a Smoothskin Pure Fit, since that one has nearly identical specs AND has a 2 year warranty instead of a 1 year warranty. It's very telling that this is one of the few products for which Braun doesn't honor a 2 year warranty. Forget the 22+ years of flashes–it's highly unlikely that your device will last for more than 1-2 years and it's not repairable.
