This is a quality iron, looks great, good weight, easy to use and fill, with an excellent heel rest. Braun is a great brand. Chose this model as it was much more practical than its other two models. As several reviewers have noted, the cord is ridiculously short!!! Very inconvenient, and frustrating to juggle it around to access what I’m attempting to iron when using the ironing board. It needs to be 3m. Having a multidirectional swivel point for the cord joint on the iron was very important to me, but this one, unlike my previous iron, doesn’t have enough range of movement. Braun have dropped the ball on these two points. (I’ve been ironing for several decades, so I do have some experience of what works well) 16.12.22

My new Iron is just wonderful. Glides smoothly. Heats quickly. I can’t say it’s a pleasure to iron, because that would be too silly! Everything I want from an iron.

My new Iron is just wonderful. Glides smoothly. Heats quickly. I can’t say it’s a pleasure to iron, because that would be too silly! Everything I want from an iron.
Cord is about 50cm shorter than my old iron, meaning it’s too short even to plug in above the counter to quickly iron something on the board. Needs an extension cord at all times. The slight curve up at the back is handy so fabric doesn’t bunch when reversing. Wish it had fabric types next to the various heats on the temperature dial.
The dial moves too easily if you arent watching where your hand grabs the handle. Would be better to be smaller. Handle feels a bit chunky to grip. Water cap opens sideways, great if you are left handed when filling it. Can do it if right handed but have to take your time.I think it would suit someone who only irons a couple of things. Not someone, like me, who irons almost everything.It gets the job done regardless.
We previously had a TexStyle 7 and was a bit concerned that its cheaper sibling would not be as good. But it is fine. Easy and comfortable to use, no drips, reasonable cord length, glides smoothly over the clothes, good steam delivery, nice weight, stable. Very happy with it.
We previously had a TexStyle 7, which we were very pleased with until it died, and worried that its cheaper sibling would not be as good. But it is excellent. Heats up quickly, good steam, glides over the clothes easily, easy to hold and use and gives really good results. Excellent iron. Would happily recommend.
Great steam iron with all the regular features you expect, vertical steam shot and spray feature. Much lighter than other models I considered which is great and sits without wobbling or being top heavy and falling off the ironing board ( how I broke my last one!!) Definitely recommend.
Bought this to replace the 2009 version of this that finally stopped working after I dropped it on the floor (the 100th time).Loved the new improved design... Sliding cover for the water reservoir, longer ironing plate, improved base for standing up the iron and the amazing steam. ...I've stopped using starch to iron my clothes.Some reviews mentioned a short cord. I checked online and it's the standard length compared to most of the irons. I always use an extension cord for mine so that's not an issue for me. Some reviews mentioned the iron leaking water. It happened to me too, until I realized that my fingers were just pressing into the water spray button as I moved the iron across the clothes. So no more leaks for me.
Actually very pleased with this iron. I like to iron with steam, it does go through the water a bit but I do usually have it on the highest setting. Even though its smaller than my last iron its faster and I dont spend as much time ironing! It quickly cools to a lower setting when needed. Its a great iron!
