This is the second Thermoscan 5 IRT 6030 that I've bought (a present for my mum), because the first one has served us well for a couple of years. It's quick and easy to use, and seems to read temperatures in babies and adults accurately. The only annoying thing is that the bright screen means you can't find ears in the dark, but I'm not prepared to pay more for the model with the night light feature.
Good quality and easy to use. This is the second Braun Thermometer I have bought over the years. The other one I have is still good after more than 10 years use.
I bought Braun Themoscan 5 IRT 6030 approximately 3 weeks ago for our newborn. The product is easy to set up and operate Intuitively. There are number of videos on youtube so you get to know more details as you need. It works with 2 AA batteries which are included in the box.The downside is nothing but the price. It is an expensive unit and you can find similar products for even half the price of this unit, or even less. However, as I needed a thermometer for my newborn which I anticipate to use regularly for next few years+, Braun or Omron was my preference and I chose Braun as it offered better product range and availability at Chemistwarehouse in my local area.
I was recommended this thermometer by a few people rather than purchasing a few cheap ones that will break and ending up wasting money. I am so glad I purchased it, it’s so hygienic and easy to use and we have even tested it on the adults in our household! It gives a quick reading and there’s no trying to keep your baby still so you can hold the old ones under their armpit!

Had trouble getting my elderly parent to keep thermometer under her tongue but this is the easiest and most accurate way, couldn’t be more pleased with this product
The product may be faulty. I am really disappointed with that thermometer. I bought it a month ago but I am not happy with it at all. it gives a different reading for the same person when used twice in a row, sometimes the difference is one or two degrees. Giving unreliable results.
