I thought this frying pan would be worth spending a bit more on compared to others, but I was seriously disappointed. It had a very loud hum every time the thermostat kicked back on. The thermostat itself was so inaccurate, I cooked a roast chicken on the recommended heat setting, and within seconds my smoke alarms were going off. I had to cook it (and everything else I tried) on the "warm" setting to avoid burning it. I have returned it for a refund. Seriously disappointed.

Great for making anything from a pan fried steak to slow cooked pot roast. I love that it has stainless steel non stick surface. No nasty non stick chemicals used. I am a fan of Breville products they are sturdy, well made and Australian owned company. I have a Breville coffee machine that is 11 years old and still going strong. Excellent customer service from the team at AppliancesOnLine They made it easy to purchase and matched price for me. Delivery on my chosen day as well. Overall great onlin experience. Thank you App.OnLine. Happy Shopper

Just used this new Breville thermal pro stainless steel frypan to cook tonight's bolognaise. It evenly cooked the onions and mushrooms etc. Very happy with it. Highly recommended. It's very very heavy but that's a good sign it is stainless steel. It heated up much quicker than my previous stainless steel frypan and easy to clean. Thank you.

My second Thermal Pro blew up last night (took out our DVR as well). The first one I had did the same thing in the first 12 months so I was able to get a replacement from The Good Guys. I have had this one about 4 years and have been fairly happy with it. I like the big size and high sides. The thermostat is either on or off but they are all like that now. None of them keep a very stable temperature. It was pretty easy to clean and I was happy enough with its performance. Pity they don't last very long. I had a Renaware frypan for many many years without any problems and it had an oil base so it cooked very evenly, but it was a smaller frypan. There is very little choice out there as far as stainless steel electric frypans and none of them get fantastic reviews. ... MoreMy second Thermal Pro blew up last night (took out our DVR as well). I absolutely LOVE this product.I hate the nonstick and have been looking for a stainless steel one for yonks. My Mum has one. Sadly, she never cooks and I live 7 hours drive away from her and it worked better than a nonstick the one time we used it.I HATE steak and prefer it cooked in a curry or casserole, much to my sons disappointment when I have steak in the fridge.Cooked steak in this used lever to tilt. Basted steaks in butter, garlic and rosemary. I can cook a mean steak in this! Gotta say for someone who hates steak, I am now converted. Rib eye is what I cooked.GREAT PRODUCT AND I AM SO HAPPY TO FINALLY FIND THIS PRODUCT
I bought this stainless steel frypan after my smaller nonstick frypan started to wear. It is one of the only stainless steel frypans you can get anymore and while I would have preferred something a bit smaller and lighter, this certainly does the job. Heats up quickly and cleaning is easy so long as enough oil is used during cooking. It is not non-stick so food does frequently stick to the pan. But soaking in a small level of water is enough to soften before cleaning. The heat control works as with any other frypan, so it does cycle on/off to keep around the set temperature. But I've found the heat labels to be quite inaccurate, with the actual temperature a lot higher than they suggest. I've found the 'Simmering' setting to be hot enough to saute, and the upper levels of 'Warm' enough to simmer. This could just depend on the amount of food in the pan, as I don't cook that much at a time - just takes some getting used to.
Fantastic Product at a fantastic price. Have been researching stainless steel electric frypans for sometime now & many reviews were very favourable of this product. After googling best price for this item, MYER was clearly the cheapest price around. To make the purchase even sweeter was that I'd received a Myer voucher as a gift, so it was meant to be. Very happy with this purchase. PS: A note to mention is it is quite a heavy product. Probably to be expected given it's stainless steel & good quality.
I will reserve final judgement until I have used this a few more times, but my initial reaction is extreme disappointment. First use today and I am cooking a port leg roast. I followed the instructions for roasting - using pan "fry/sear" to brown on all sides. This was WAY too hot and resulted in my smoke alarms going off, and a room full of smoke. Frying pan surface immediately turned brown with burnt on oil. Instructions say to then cook on "simmer" for rest of cooking time, but this too is too hot. I have had to add water every five minutes to stop the meat from burning. At the rate it's going this will be a steamed roast, not a roasted roast!I will give it a few more tries, but if this is going to be "usual behaviour" I will be returning this frying pan. I made the switch to stainless steel with this frypan after a previous non stick electric frypan. A honey soy marinade was what ultimately made the non stick pan, well, ready for the bin (though it did last a few years). This stainless steel frypan has passed the sticky pork (soy and honey marinade) test with flying colours. Just put some water in the pan afterwards and boil for a few minutes - cleaning is no longer a chore. So far, very happy with this purchase.
Used this frypan twice after purchased, it is so disappointment. The thermostat control as it advertised is useless, it keeps boiling even I put under SIMMER, the soup of my dish get dry so quickly and stick on the frypan, and when I want to turn it to a lower temperature to control it, which I had no choice rather than switched it to WARM, then it turned off by itself, and doing nothing. This heat control is terrible, which its SIMMER to SWAR make no much difference, they are all burn in high temperature and I cannot cook my food under good temperature control at all.
