I bought this machine in October 2020 and it hasn't put a foot wrong in all that time. The coffee is always spot on with no burnt or bitter tasting like some coffee machines. It's easy to get Nespresso compatible pods for it that are as good and better than the original Nespresso pods. The wand purges itself free every cup of coffee and then we wipe it down with a damp cloth. We have descaled it when prompted to do so. It seems good quality and very robust and we have been delighted with it. Also, it was a Which magazine Best Buy. I am now looking to buy another one as a house warming present for my son but, having read some of the reviews, I'm somewhat hesitant. (I don't understand people saying they've had them repaired within the guarantee period - I would definitely have asked for a refund or replacement.) It's a good looking machine (we have the stainless steel one) and has a relatively small footprint on the worktop. Based on my own experience with the coffee maker I think I will buy another one but, if it does break down within the year, I will tell my son to exchange for a different machine.

I purchased this unit about two weeks ago. The first unit had an issue and had several discussion with the manufacturer of and eventually they got me to take it back to the Retailer. I took the second one home only to find it had a similar issue, but was told about a set up issue from the manufacturer. Once operational its the best thing since sliced bread. I had a Breville Coffee maker so I am used to them. The Pod system is so so good. It brews faster no selecting double or single wall coffee holder one or two cup holder. The machine worked a treat until it wanted to be descaled. So we bought the descaling liquid in January and that's when the problems started. Basically the machine no longer worked and had to send it back to Nespresso for fixing. They gave us a very basic machine whilst it was being fixed. On return the machine is still not working despite them putting a new pump. Having major issues with Nespresso trying to get this resolve and John Lewis have not exactly been helpful either, stating that the guarantee lies with Nespresso. This is an excellent product but under no circumstances would I suggest taking out an extended warranty with Domestic and General. We have been trying to have a small issue repaired for four months (leaking water tank). D&G insisted on the whole machine with accessories being returned to them. This involved several failed collections, return to an address 200 miles away, the product damaged in transit and eventually returned without any accessories and now the machine does not work at all. We have been passed between dozens of departments and sub contracted repair companies over the last 4 months and when I pointed out to the very unhelpful technical assistant that we had been without the use of this machine for 5 months his response was "well can't you put the ... My final thoughts on the machine are that it is quite good when it works and is certainly very stylish, the customer service is also good - however, the build quality for a machine of this cost is not to the standard I would expect. I note that a lot the negative reviews on here are often based on 3-6 months down the line and to me that is an indicator something is wrong with the internal construction. Especially as we own other SAGE products which are produced just by SAGE not in conjuction with other companies, like this machien and Nespresso. On reflection I would purchase a different machine, probably the SAGE Duo Temp Pro
Fantastic looking machine which makes superb coffee. However, problems arise when it needs descaling. If you live in a hard water area this can be a nightmare. When I have a couple of people over the milk will froth well for the first coffee then it will go flat. Really annoying. I am finding the machine needs descaling nearly every month. The milk frother setting is a gimmick, mine is on the highest setting and the froth is enough for a flat white or latte. If you want a really frothy foam you get better results with stand alone milk frother. All that being said, most days it's just me having one morning coffee which I look forward to it and enjoy.

When 'unblocked' (doing this multiple times each use) the milk would be lukewarm. JL replaced swiftly and a replacement arrived. 3 months in and issues started on the replacement machine. Constantly saying it needed de-scaling or the spout unblocking. Tried soaking the spout in washing up liquid and hot water, taking it all apart etc etc but no better. Called JL who this time said I'd need to go to Nespresso direct, as the warranty was with them. I didn't realise this upon purchasing and because I'd had no issue with the previous return it was a bit of a shock. Dutifully ... I got this for my wife as a gift in her last year of uni, she was struggling because of the covid lockdown and having to spend so much time at home and having to do her thesis online instead of the uni. So I purchased this for her to help her get into a new routine where she could add this habit into her days and have something enjoyable to look forward to. She not only thrived in uni, by getting a distinction mark in her thesis, but we now have this little routine in the morning where we have our coffee at home and she is our barista and operates the machine herself. She loves her breville better than outside coffee shops. Best money I ever spent, gorgeous (as I call her) loves her princess (how we call the machine).
I wanted to upgrade my 15 year old Breville Espresso Machine that just kept on going. I finally decided on a pod machine after weighing up the cost of ground coffee vs the cost of pods. There was minimal difference and even better savings if you stock up on pods when they’re on special. My reason for purchasing the Uno was my friend has had a uno creatista for 5 years and is extremely happy with it. I received mine 2 weeks ago and am definitely putting it to use (being an 6 cup a day coffee drinker 🤭) I am really, really happy with the simplicity of obtaining the perfect coffee just by pushing a button and even more impressed with the automatic milk frothing function. Only had it for two weeks but it’s great so far.
