I thought this would be an appliance that goes in and out of the cabinets, but it became a permanent fixture on the kitchen counter. Kids make themselves paninis, but it is also great for warming tortillas and toasting bread with dinner. Also great for quesadillas. Didn’t know I would love it so much, but it is much more than a panini maker. Love!

I bought one of these on an impulse many years ago berating myself at the time that we didn’t need it and probably wouldn’t use it much. Instead it became one of the most used appliances in our kitchen. When it finally wore out a few months ago, I replaced it with a smaller, less expensive model from another manufacturer, but it just wasn’t the same. We were all thrilled when this new Breville Panini Press arrived!While the company touts many uses, we basically use it for two things — making panini and reheating leftover slices of pizza.

Based on the ratings of others, we must have gotten a faulty one, but… it got hot. Really hot. Melted the plastic notches that hold the top at different heights. When it cooled, we couldn’t adjust the height past the melted broken part, so it was locked in an open position. Burnt the outside of the sandwich in less than a minute (manual said it should take more than 5 min), but the sandwich fillings were still cold. Sliding the temperature adjustment seemed to make no difference - only led to more ruined sandwiches. “Ready” light never came on. Returned, and bought the Cuisinart Griddler instead.

Easy to use and clean. We had an older model, same type, and it lasted for years. Decided it was time to replace it (we're handing the old one off to someone else - it's still working great). We were pleased to find it is still a great design with one minor improvement - and on/off switch. Very happy! It's been our go-to easy meal - fun being creative and enjoying something tasty and quick.
This is the second time I have purchased this item. It serves perfectly what it was designed for until the switch is damaged. Both times it has been damaged in less than two years. I am sorry for those who are thinking of purchasing this toaster. I do not recommend it until it is redesigned.
Very happy with the Breville, it is solid, effective and is a game changer for gluten free diets. Gluten free wraps crumble apart if they aren’t toasted, so having the press has helped to create lunches with “integrity” for gluten free needs!We love how solid it is and the little detente stops to prevent squishing are handy. Stores neat and easy on the countertop on its legs
Works very well, haven't even used all the features yet, but it is very very big! compared to the little Salton I used this one to replace. That one didn't have the height necessary for most things, so broke the hinge on the lid eventually. This one is full adjustable for anything, but BIG like I say!
I’ve had this for almost a couple of years and now it won’t even turn on. This is my second Breville pan I press since the first one also died on me after about a couple of years. It was great while it lasted and surprised that despite the cost it doesn’t last. Now I’ll be looking to other brands. Wish me luck!
I have had this almost for one year and it's amazing!!! I was scared to get it at first after reading reviews about the know breaking... but I'm glad I bought it as long as your gentle with moving the knob to adjust the height it won't get wrecked. I've made paninis, quesdillia, grilled cheese sandwiches, the list is endless and I've used multiple types of breads and everything turns out great!!! Don't second guess it buy it! I'm not a person who writes reviews frequently but this product works so well that I had to write a review!!!
This appliance gets used daily in my house. We've been grilling sandwiches, burgers, smokies and bacon (to die for). The grease drains off into the convenient drip tray that locks in place. It seems very well made. Clean up is easy - a damp cloth after use and it is ready to go again. Love the black amd stainless steel combination. It looks very classy.
