A second appliance, replacing the first one that malfunctioned after three months, didn't work straight out of the box. I can't stress highly enough what rubbish this is. If I hadn't bought replacement filters I would have asked for a refund; I'm determined to use them and have every confidence that the unit will malfunction again like its two predecessors; then I will seek a refund. Hot water is nowhere near boiling; measured with a calibrated thermometer, it reaches a maximum of 86degC. Then we have Breville's customer service… a webform on their site I filled out close to three weeks ago still hasn't sparked a reply, let alone help. Breville used to sell good-quality appliances; not any more. Avoid at all cost.

While the AquaStation receives 5 stars the instruction manual gets 1 star. Breville really need to rewrite the manual.The diagram fails to mention that there even IS a floating water level sensor & bracket let alone how to correctly position & install it! I'm sure I'm not the only one who nearly threw it out (or did) as there was no indication what the unpacked item even was. It simply won't operate without correct installation.BUT...The AquaStation is an absolute joy! It's incredibly easy & intuitive to operate. It has a great user interface with preprogrammed or customisable temperatures & water volume. It's beautifully designed & is surprisingly small for it's big 3L capacity! Moving into a new house and completely refurnishing the place. Was going to go for the Breville Kettle, but then I saw this and decided to go for it because of the ability to get filtered "ambient" water for my daily drinking. I use to fill up my kettle for coffee and tea and then wait several minutes for the kettle to reach its boiling point, so it is an absolute game changer that I can press a button an instantly get hot water. The only 2 small issues is that sometimes when I go for the hot setting it still pours out ambient water (I already had my tea bag in it so had to throw out the tea bag and try again), so what I do now is press the button and if it sends out cool water I throw out the water and try again and then it seems to put out the hot water. I am really excited to trial Breville Aquastation Purifier Hot and I am so glad I was selected because now I can have purified water instantly. I love that I can have room temperature water purified instantly, as well as hot water instantly, instead of waiting for the kettle to boil. I can easily select the temperature with the custom setting, with the minimum hot water temperature setting being 45°C and dialing up or down in 5°C increments. The red LED light pops out so you know if it's selected to hot. I like the velocity it dispenses the water because no splashing occurs outside of the cup. My only dislike is that there is also no on/off button and it relies on me to switch off the appliance from the powerpoint. Even though you can start and stop the feature at ... This machine allows me to filter water and choose if I want it at ambient or hot temperature. More than this it allows me to choose the temperature of the hot water. Even having preselected suggestions for various hot drinks. But my favorite feature is the ability to choose how many ml you want to come out. I like drinking out of bigger cups for my morning tea and this makes it possible with just the push of a button. Knowing that my tea and drinking water are filtered is an awesome outcome. So I'm pretty happy with the Aquastation for what it is, except a few design issues that have been a bit of an issue. The water does flow very slowly. Which is great if your pouring in a cup. But not if you want to fill up a water bottle. The other issue is if you are wanting to fill up bottles you have to stand there holding it on an angle to the spout as it isn't high enough to put a bottle under it. And only fills slowly. In this case the filter jug would be more useful.I do love the instant hot water. And holds large column and the settings.So yes mixed feelings
This is a good product. Looks nice on the bench. Will save me money on buying water for sure. The only feature Im not that happy with is the hot water is not hot enough for a good cup of tea. Even if you run a little bit first it still is not quite hot enough. I did read the reviews about this prior to purchasing the product and a few mentioned that the water is not hot enough but I also read if you ran half a cup it would then be ok but this is not the case. It leaves a film on top of the water from the teabag. Besides that I really love it and just wish I had of saved a little money and got the one without hot water.
Just unpacked my second AquaStation Hot, this being a replacement under warranty for a faulty unit. Guess what? This one doesn't work either. I contacted Breville a week ago, via webform as no-one was answering the phone (all staff off on a "training day"), I'm yet to get a reply. This time, the "Fill tank" warning is flashing even though there is water in the tank; consequently, it won't dispense water at all. Also found (when the last one was working) that the hot water is nowhere near boiling; it reaches about 86°C. Not hot enough to make my morning cuppa sadly. While the instruction book says if there is any moisture in the unit when unpacked it would be from the unit being tested, if that's the case, why does this one not work fresh out of the box?
Since I purchased this item, we haven’t used our kettle and thermos jug at home. It is very convenient especially during evening if you want to have a cup of tea just press the button and you have your instant hot water. My children also use this for their drinking water (using ambient). Now my kitchen bench have more space because my thermos and kettle are now kept inside our kitchen cabinet. You could taste the difference of the water between the tap and the breville aquastation (purified water). My husband also appreciates this product because he loves drinking hot water. 👍🏼👍🏼
