Breville The Big One Sandwich Maker

Still have this. The non stick plates are still in good working order which is an important feature. Have used other cheaper brands and they don't match the original Breville. Worth the buy.

Best Small Kitchen Appliance

We are loving this brilliant little machine! Easy to clean, easy to use, ledge at back so accidental overfilling doesnt melt all over the hinges like smaller cheaper models. Doesnt just do toasties either! Pancakes .. bubble n squeak ..

Blast from the past, better than ever...

We used to have one but it sat in the cupboard unused for years until it was dropped during a cupboard clear out, and subsequently recycled. But during lockdown some of my friends have started sharing their jaffle maker creations from leftovers, and I had strong jaffle envy. This one is brilliant - a great upgrade from the full metal jacket version of the 1980s, I have yet to overstuff something so badly that it hasn't been able to cope.We now have all the yummyness of a slow cooked pulled pork and cheese jaffle to console us while we peek out of the curtains at the forbidden outside.PS: please don't try leftover cauliflower cheese jaffles - that was a mistake I made so you don't have to.

Brilliant Sandwich / jaffle maker

This is our second sandwich maker after many many years of constant use (misuse and abuse!). The previous one never missed a beat, but eventually required replacement as the plastic on the cord had deteriorated. We would have been devastated if this model were no longer available. Can’t recommend this sandwich maker highly enough.

Does the job

It's ok. It's large enough for our standard bread, easy to clean and quick to heat and cook. It does seem to cook unevenly though, so the inside of the bread is clean but the edge on the outside is still well underdone. Better than our old one though - although that had interchangeable plates which was cool...

Full of filling

I had one of these jaffle makers but it eventually died of old age. Bought a new one that cuts the jaffle in two. BIG BIG mistake. It is now binned. Whilst can hold a baby can of baked bean before closing the lid. All the tomato sauce was squished out when lid was shut. Very dry untasty jaffle. Also lost 1/2 an egg in another jaffle. Very happy now

Non stick peeled off

I had a Breville sandwich maker for years, non stick was perfect after 12 years plus use. I bought this model as a replacement. Non stick on one side peeled off like sunburn within a few weeks. Having stupidly thrown out receipt I can't claim warranty. I do NOT recommend this to anyone.

Not stick failure

I have had one for a few years and it was ok. Better than the idiotic things with a great wall down the centre so you can't put an egg in. Doesn't quite seal the outside like my previous one or a jaffle iron.The non stick surface has just suddenly started sticking and has become unusable -no idea why. It's gone in the bin today and not sure if I will get another one.

Toasties never tasted so great!

We have come to realise that the toastie machine we used to have was in no way comparable to this machine. The big one keeps the flavour in whilst perfectly toasting the bread into a yummy filled pocket. The best toasties I have ever eaten, highly recommend!

Worth every cent

When I was a child, we had one similar. As an adult, I spent such a long time being able to find one like this and then even longer before I decided to buy. Then I recently bought one for my mum for her birthday. Both of them are absolutely worth every cent. She's been through the recipe books and made apple pies and all! So much better than the small ones that can't hold much. Spaghetti sandwiches in these are a childhood favorite!!
