As someone who has had multiple milk frothers over the last 15 years and uses this appliance daily, let me tell you, this milk frother is it. It has a large capacity - 750ml which is even bigger than the giant 500ml capacity unit it was replacing for me. The reservoir is stainless steel and detaches from the base so it can be fully submerged/put in the dishwasher. My old unit had a Teflon lining that got flaked and disgusting after years of use and it was so hard to clean because you could not submerge the unit (not to mention the health risks of flaking Teflon...) This being stainless steel is a huge upgrade! The ability to control the milk temp is also fantastic - my old unit didn't get as hot as I would like it so I often ended up microwaving my drink if I didn't ... MoreAs someone who has had multiple milk frothers over the last 15 years and uses this appliance daily, let me tell you, this milk frother is it. It is not easy to find a milk frother which has a stainless steel interior vessel. Most have a non-stick coating which I don't want for health reasons should it become scratched and nor do I want one with any plastic parts inside. It is worth the extra expense. I had one for several years and liked it so much I bought a second one for a relative as a gift as well as for me at a seasonal home after hauling it back a forth for a season. It is easy to clean manually and I have also placed it in the dishwasher with great results. The milk is very frothy, especially if you use 2% or more fat content milk as well as oat milk. It froths with other milk varieties I tried but maybe not as much. I highly recommend the product.

I've been using this for the past 7 months and have had a great experience. I got it to replace the manual frother I was using and it's much easier and more convenient. There are two attachments for cappuccinos and lattes. The attachment you're not using conveniently magnets to the back of the device. I like the adjustable temperature and that I can turn it on and go about doing other things while it does the work. By the time my coffee is brewed, the milk is frothed and ready to pour. My one complaint is that the minimum fill line is a lot for one person. I wish there was a version that could accommodate a smaller amount of milk. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my purchase and would absolutely recommend for any coffee drinker!

Highly Recommend! Worth the $$$

I was on WS.com today looking for a coffee maker (again) and saw our good old Breville Milk Frother and thought it deserved a review. The first thought that popped into my head was that I recall thinking it was a lot of money to spend on a fancy milk stirrer (as did my husband, lol) — and my second thought was that it was totally worth it! I’ve since lost count of the myriad coffee makers we’ve owned and tossed in the last 10 years while our Breville Frother just keeps churning along. Seriously, this is the oldest electric appliance in our home that is used every single day. Hopefully the newer ones are still made as well as ours :-) One side note, and part of the reason it gets so much use in our home is that it came with two magnetic discs — my husband likes foam ... MoreI was on WS.com today looking for a coffee maker (again) and saw our good old Breville Milk Frother and thought it deserved a review. It really is such a handy kitchen tool if you love hot milky beverages. This was our first frothing device of any kind and I doubt we will ever be without one again. Simple to use and easy to clean, just perfect.

Hit and Miss - Terrible for Plant-Based Milk
17 February 2023

Bought my first of these 2 years ago, envisioning epic lattes. Tried all different types of plant-based milk, including those with high fat content, since that's usually a determining factor in frothability. Each attempt resulted in hot, flat milk with a few light bubbles. Tried varying the temperature of both the milk and the steel jug. No better.Returned that unit to Breville, who sent me a replacement. Again, I've tried everything, read blog posts, changed temperatures, bought high fat content milk...Same experience.I've used a variety of milk frothers, and I'm bewildered at how this expensive unit can't produce a decent foam like much cheaper products can. Though I REALLY wanted this to work out (cutest little appliance, isn't it?), it doesn't do what it ... MoreBought my first of these 2 years ago, envisioning epic lattes. Most used appliance in our home and outstanding customer service

I received this as a Mother’s Day gift at least 5 years ago. Sadly, about a month an ago it just stopped spinning. After a few days I realized just how much I loved this and how convenient it is. Standing over the stove to heat the milk and stirring to avoid it burning and taking much longer to do, quickly reminded me this has become our most used appliance in the house and one I really wanted back.I thought, maybe I will reach out to see what Breville has to say before ordering a new one. Michelle at Breville helped me try and troubleshoot the issue. I borrowed a friends disc (brand new unit recommended by me and convinced after trying it out) and unfortunately it didn’t work. Michelle then offered me a the option of having it repaired by one of their technicians and or a massive discount on a brand new unit! It worked out to be less than $35 for a new one over getting it repaired so I opted for that choice and it arrived a week later. This is more than I ever expected after owning for as long as I have. Michelle was helpful and replied to my emails promptly. I am so excited to have my milk cafe back. Its incredibly wonderful to be able to put my chai latte in and walk away to do other things as come back to a perfectly mixed, frothy and hot chai ready to pour into my cup, give the container a quick wash and head to work! It’s such a time saver in the mornings. My kids use it very often to make hot chocolate and apple cider. They know exactly what temperature they like their drinks at and their parents lol.

Reliability of induction and decanter

Reliable use for 2 years so far with no problems. I like this for the temperature control and that it is not lined with additives. It also is distinguished in its higher volume capacity. I don't own a dishwasher, but cleaning this is very simple and no fuss.I usually use 16 ounces or go to the max line, but have used minimum when I was low on milk. Usually use whole milk, Sometimes made hot cocoa, but usually am adding to coffee, tea/chai, or matcha.I do not like the amount of air in the "cappuccino" frother, so I use the other one. Sometimes I used to also use a French press for that thickening of pumping the milk through the sieve, but I need the Breville for precise temp control. (See James Hoffmann on his you tube for making milk drinks without an espresso machine where he discusses ideal temperature.)I guess this was my "pandemic splurge" as before I had been heating milk on stovetop and using a thermometer to avoid scalding, which required vigilance. The only issue I ever had was when I was at fault as I reread directions. Once, the base was not on a level surface, so that was the only time it did not heat. Once I did not press the disk in firmly. AND when I was at fault for not putting in a disk at all, it did begin to scald because it needs to keep the milk moving. Those 3 errors were not following directions, were rectified , and the thing has been working fine ever since.

Size and Temp Control for people who like big and extra hot coffee!
31 July 2023

I bought this because it was big enough for a big mug of flat white and because of the temperature control. Previous milk frothers I've owned were generally too small and didn't heat the milk to a high enough temperature for my liking.A few things I would improve in the next model of this product:1) The start/stop button requires too much pressure to press. Pressing the button with one hand just pushes the whole milk frother across the benchtop. You have to hold it with one hand and press the button with the other. A minor inconvenience.2) Makes a rattly noise when running. It's not loud, but it's just not a pleasant sound.3) Takes a fairly long time to heat the milk. It's not a deal-breaker or anything, but if it could be sped up just a little, that would be great.

The Best Frother

I became tired of buying and tossing cheaper milk frothers which burnt the milk or failed to froth. Like others, at first I thought the price was high but I was fed up with trying to save a buck yet in the end, spent more buying multi cheap frothers. After researching different brands and models, I decided on the Breville Milk Cafe Frother. Ive had it now for just over 5 years and it is awesome. I use it about 3 times a day on average.I take it with me when I travel and use it in my hotel room (along with my Breville hot water kettle and bottled water!). It’s very easy to clean-just pop out the disk and the cup is stainless through and through. I use a small brush and liquid dish soap to clean my disks about once a week. Takes about 10 seconds.I highly recommend this unit and it would be a great gift!

Two frothers down, I won't be getting a third
1 December 2022

I really wanted to like this frother, but alas it was not meant to be. My first milk frother lasted a couple months of occasional use, then the discs started to pop off when starting the cycle. Breville sent me a new one, and I used it for the first time yesterday. Worked great. Went to use it again today and it's doing the same as the first, completely unusable. Extremely disappointed with the product, it couldn't last two uses. Reading through reviews, this is a seemingly common issue. It's a stylish design, which is now the only good thing I can say about it. If you're looking for a reliable frother, look elsewhere, for this one will only end in frustration and disappointment.
