We received these on a promotion after buying the 3 in 1 combo, and my husband and I will never ever go back to the manual way of grinding salt & pepper. These are absolutely fabulous so much easier to use, and the grind is brilliant. I use to hate hard bits cracking on my teeth with the manual way, not so with these, perfectly fine grind. A winner all round.

In theory, it’s a good idea to have a automatic grinding S&P mill. When it works, it is super convenient, but I find the pepper mill cogs up a little too easily whereas the salt works a bit easier since it is a finer product. There is a light which is meant to shine onto the food to I guess help you see how much is being applied to your food however it is too dim to have any real effect. The reservoir for the salt and pepper is too small and only holds a very limited volume whereas the unit itself is very tall (the entire silver body is just to house the batteries and motor and the clear plastic portion is the reservoir for the salt and pepper itself). If these can be improved upon, would be a great product

They are so good I went back and bought another set, for my daughter!The best salt and pepper grinders I’ve ever used. I love the battery operation and the light…my grandkids were fascinated

It functions well. I do not use the bottom cover as I kept forgetting it and it fell in the sauce couple of times. As far as the look, its good but uses 6x AAA batteries in 2021. It should be LiPo rechargeable, so it is smaller and have more grunt as well as more space in the chamber for the salt, pepper or whatever you use it for. I would also add a little light at the bottom, its easy and makes it better to judge how much of the stuff is on the dish in a dim light of dinner table. I got it free but I would not buy it if I had to pay. BTW, I would also make a trigger button on the side not on top as it is easier to trigger while holding it with one hand. I load it with salt and pepper at same time so I only use one.
Got these for free after I bought one of their ovens. Instead of twisting a pepper or salt grinder these are great! All I do now is press the button. The only negative thing I can say is filling them but that was solved by using a funnel.
Had these nearly a year. PROS: Nice grind and you can change thickness of it, attractive housing, easy to use.CONS: Caps become loose on the bottom and fall off leaving residue everywhere, batteries occasionally fall out (lots of them) as unit loosens with use, mildly difficult to refill.
Had for 6months and from the beginning, the pepper mill would get jammed cracking the pepper. Tried swapping the salt and pepper over and still happened. Tried using already cracked pepper instead of pepper corns and it still got jammed. My parents got the same set and theirs is fine. Initially when I brought I did read some reviews of this happening but still thought I’d buy…… wish I didn’t. Have since got another brand and works very well.
Don't waste your time with the gravity switch type grinders, they get clogged up, don't grind properly. These Breville grinders are a quality biuld. The battery placement means they don't get fine particles in the battery compartment. Batteries and motor are separate from the grinder and s+p compartment so the mechanism and wiring is not contaminated unlike the gravity switch grinders. The s+p components are more enclosed and in conjunction with the cap reduces the effects of humidity. The grind adjustment is excellent and stays more accurate as the grinders do not get clogged. I had another brand’s grinders for some years but they mostly stopped working. I am a massive Breville fan so when these came on sale at Myer I nabbed them. Loving them so far. Quite light and fast, they grind well. Like the covers thst stick on as the other brand weren’t attached but they’d kinda stick on as I lifted fhe grinder then fall off and make a big noise and a mess. I like the fact that you have to remove the covers and then replace. No mess. Like fhe light. Like the button. They look great alongside all my other breville stuff. I have had no problems so far but it’s only been a few weeks so hopefully they last as I really like them so far. Would recommend.
These mills make cracking pepper and grinding salt a breeze. The coarsness of the cracked pepper (or ground salt) can be easily adjusted with a quick twist of a screw below the base.There is nothing as good as freshly cracked pepper on food, and these grinders make seasoning quick and simple. I had some of the old grinders, but the re-design of these new ones has made them much better for loading batteries and opening the grinders. I can srongly recommend them.
