Breville The Slice N' Carve Cordless Electric Knife - Grey

This electric knife has been so handy! When we have BBQs or eat outside, I don't have to worry about connecting to power. My kitchen island where I cut food on is nowhere near a power adaptor, so this has really helped me with that. I cut so much with this knife - from bread to meat to veges like tomatos. I get so many comments when we have guests over too! Highly recommend this electric knife!

A little beauty.

Loving this new knife so far. Lightweight and comfortable to hold and cuts my homemade bread like a dream. Only minor drawback is the safety button which is clearly designed for use by right handed people. Love that there’s a sheath for the blades.

Do not buy if you need to cut anything.

I had hoped to use this to cut meat but the cut wasn't neat and as for things like cutting veggie's - forget it. It's a real shame that it doesn't cut everyday food stuffs as claimed in the advertising. I am truly very disappointed.

Easy to use

I am now able to cut my homemade bread neatly. It is worth the price considering the addition of two sets of blades and a storage container for them. The battery so far has allowed me to slice three loaves of bread without showing any signs of running down. The charge light changes colour apparently to indicate when it is getting low which is helpful but mine hasn’t done that yet. I’m happy with this cordless knife. I had a corded one previously and was too nervous to use it. With no cord getting in the way to worry about, I’m glad I made the change.

Excellent Knife - does a great job with crusty bread

Excellent Knife - does a great job with crusty breadI read a lot of product reviews before deciding on the Breville Slice and Carve. We have used on thick crusty grain and sourdough bread which it slices perfectly, no tearing. Easy to use and easily portables (with battery operation there is no cord getting in the way) the blades stored neatly inside the knife handle when you are not using, so convenient. We feel this products deserves a 5 star rating :-)

Great knife. Not as sharp as others i have used. The little button one has to push each time the blade stops to restart is a nuisance. But otherwise i like the size and shape. Would buy again.

My old one was much better

I’m not sure how a 15 year old $30ish Ronson was sooooooo much better than a knife that’s 4 times the price, yet here we are. I bought it because I have rsi in both of my hands, so I find cutting bread and other things that requiring cutting for a while difficult, so I need a knife. Anyhow, my Ronson finally died and I researched new ones. There weren’t any that gave me confidence at any price, high or low, so I settled on the Breville cause it was the least worst. My bread knife still does a better job and I’m still using it before reaching for this knife because it’s pretty useless. I won’t take it back because on bad days, I will use it, but really, you’d have to be pretty desperate now to buy one. It struggles to get through a loaf of pane di casa which is what I like and it’s awkward to handle. The handle and blades are too long, it’s not ergonomically designed for use or comfort. So after using it for about 3-4 minutes, my arms are really too tired to continue cause I have to hold them at such a high angle to cut anything. So if you need something to cut meat or use for a while, I wouldn’t recommend this one. Not sure I’d recommend this one anyway.

Well designed and good quality electric knife

I purchased this electric knife, because I hoped it would work on frozen bread. It did not cut through frozen bread. My husband loves to use it to cut slices of a bread loaf. Bread keeps fresher unsliced, we found. The Breville Slice n'Carve is well designed and has a safety feature built in. The Electric Knife is easier to store than a slicing machine. Most cuts I made with the Slice n' Carve I compared them to cuts I made with a good sharp non-electric knife. The Slice n' Carve is for gadget lovers and maybe for people working in a food stall on a market or fast food outlet. If my husband would not use it daily, I would sell it or pass it on.

Works well

Had another brand and it failed just after warranty, something to do with the double trigger/button pressing that was needed. This Breville one looks simpler and you only need to hold one trigger to make it work. Cuts well and is quiet, charge lasts well.
