Absolutely superb device - holds a fantastic amount of water and actually does what it says on the tin - that it makes water so clean tasting and soft. Just exactly like bottled water. A little tip though - I've used many different Brita products over the years and this is my favourite due to it's capacity potential. But I've always found it helps to run the cold water tap for at least 2 or 3 minutes - as it's always best to draw the freshest cleanest water that you possibly can - and in my opinion it makes these devices even more effective. Superb

The instructions say that the cartridge needs to be activated by at least two fills. This is correct. There was a change in taste from our first glass to the next Dispenser refill.I really like the fact that these cartridges contain coconut fibres. A smart and natural way of cleaning water. It is very important to me that the cartridges can be recycled. The fact we have to filter tap water is a mark of how we've poisoned the environment. The tap nosel hangs slightly lower, so you need to place the Dispenser where you have the space to insert a glass/kettle underneath. On a worktop is fine. (I put a cotton rug under the spout on the floor. The Dispenser does not leak. But I occasionally don't pay enough attention to what I am filling and spill.)I fill a glass jug ... MoreThe instructions say that the cartridge needs to be activated by at least two fills. (The container was too high to fit directly under the tap on my sink.) Given that the tap water here, in Donegal, is incredibly dirty, the cartridge does an excellent job in filtering out pollution, flouride, limescale etc. and the water tastes clean. Really good design. Simple to put together. Really pleased.

This was bought to keep in my fridge as we do not have a cold water dispenser. The 8 litre tank is really handy for our family of four to ensure we have clean, fresh and cold water on tap. The tap mechanism is fool proof - even my 6 year old can use this with ease and it feels robust too. A sliding mechanism makes it easy to refill too! This has been a great hit with the family and I can see how much more water everyone is drinking because of it.

My old water jug was well used looking to replace I found this larger 8litre one. I was forever filling the 1.5litre jug up. This is great I wished I'd seen them before. Fits nicely on my 2nd fridge shelf without being too imposing. A tap is a great addition and I love this product. Thankyou Robert dayas for the competitive price and safe quick delivery. Highly recommended. Been using for 3 weeks without problem
I honestly don't know why we didn't buy this sooner. The filtered water tastes great; the tank and filter are both easy to setup; it doesn't take too much room on our counter (we prefer room-temperature water); it looks good in our kitchen; and it feels to have been made with good quality materials. My only criticism has to be the difficulty of sliding open the flap that covers hole into which you fill the tank with water. It's quite a tight clip and takes a bit of effort to dislodge. Otherwise, I am super happy and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
I was buying bottled water roughly 30 1.5 litre/2 litre bottles a week. So i decided to see if there was an option where we could all drink filtered tap water without it costing a fortune or meaning a lot of effort. The filter jugs weren't big enough for the needs of my family so when i saw this i bought it straight away. It's perfect. It fits neatly in my fridge & we just pull it forward slightly to use take water out. It has an indicator to tell you when to change the filter. We fill it when we take water out using a jug. Cleaning is as easy as cleaning a tupperware box or the drawer in the bottom of your fridge. My best friend was impressed & is buying 1 too. This will save us money as well as saving the world from plastic bottles. I liked my water with a touch ... MoreI was buying bottled water roughly 30 1.5 litre/2 litre bottles a week. I liked my water with a touch of flavour so i bought an infusion bottle & i use waterdrops & cold infusions by twinnings or tetley in my bottle. I'm very impressed, water tastes great without flavouring. Highly recommend buying this.
This water filter is absolutely brilliant and the quality of water after filtering is fantastic, clean, clear and with no aftertaste at all, just pure clean water. Robert Dyas is our first point of call when we need to buy anything. The value for money and service is outstanding and the products top class and we recommend Robert Dyas very highly indeed. The best value out there.
Used everyday. Easy fill. Quick dispense. Dishwasher proof. Excellent quality. Simple Product. Better than a standard water filter jug. More capacity. + a Maxtra cartridge. As good as Brita but cheaper. A* Highly Recommended. Fast delivery. Cheers.
I write this reluctantly. I am sensitive to Chlorine, and dislike the taste of it. Having run 6 blatches through, (twice as many as suggested by Manufacturer) the reduction in chlorine, both taste and smell, could not be discerned. There was also a "metallic" taste to the water from the Brita, which did not appear prominent in the tap water as drawn. I then cleaned the unit, and repeated twice, replacing the cartridge filter each time, both times rinsing filter and discarding initial batches. There was again no discernible improvement. I then tried running a batch of store bought bottled water, (Glaceau Smart water) through the Britta unit. This again came out with a metallic taste which was not apparent in the water added to the reservoir. I gave this water both as ... MoreI write this reluctantly. I gave this water both as the untouched Smart bottle and filtered through the unit in separate glasses to 2 other people as a blind test, both of whom remarked on the metallic tang to one glass (the Brita filtered water), and chose not to drink it. have spoken to other Brita (jug) owners who have said theirs are not being used either. have purchased a small DeSal plant, which does do the job beautifully. Sad, because it is compact appealing and nicely engineered, just doesn't begin to do what it says.
