I’m so happy I bought this product to mix in with my cactus and succulent potting mix. Unlike the previous reviewer, when used correctly this item is amazing and does a wonderful job of increasing drainage in potting mixes. It is not meant to be used on top of the pots as a decorative stone, but mixed in with potting mix and course sand to create a specialist mix. It is so easy to lift a move because it’s so light weight, and is actually small stones have been treated at extremely high temperatures. I couldn’t recommend it enough and we recommend that 100 times over to family and friends. I’ve attached a photo of it with one of my succulents, it’s the little white dots on top.

Very cheap and good size and quality. I have added it as soil amendment to the osmocote premium potting mix and repotted all my plants ready for spring! It aerates the soil and makes it perfectly draining whilst maintaining is moist. Really recommend.

If you didn't already know, perlite is very light like styrofoam and when i opened the bag it blew everywhere. Kinda funny now i wont do that again. Apart from getting to much in the mix my plants seem to like it and are growing well.

This product is light and brittle, breakage in to fine dust particles was breathed in.I did not expect a brittle synthetic (like polystyrene) product with a high fine air borne dust component. The health warnings are like a disclaimer for all their products..It needs to be more specific and made relevant to this perlite. It was too generalised to pay any attention too.I will not be buying this again. Pumice rock from now onBunnings please stock pumice stone which does the same thing without being so breakable and so light it is airborne
It's a fluffy light material that I mixed with potting mix and sand to create my own succulent potting mix. It's light and easy to use, and works well for drainage. I've bought this product more than once now.
Really recommend this bad boy for aerating your soil! Boy oh boy do my pots drain well now. Goodbye waterlogged roots, hello immortality!Just to note though, you really shouldn't eat it. It smells great and the texture is appealing but it is not good for the bowels. Leave it to what it's good at - adding drainage to soil!
Perlite is my go to when making new potting mixes. Great for all plants - cactus to ferns - as it allows the soil to breath while also holding water and nutrients.There is also helpful information on the back of the bag for making soil mixes. As you can see, a 25L bag will go a long way.
I bought this thinking "how bad could it be?" Yep, it's like packaging foam. Super light and floats right to the top when watered and blows away. I wouldn't use it in anything other than potting succulents in straight perlite.
This perlite is great stuff and perfect to use with any potted plants as it assists with good drainage without adding weight to the mix. A little goes a long way. Mix it in with your potting mix and add some river sand - also at Bunnings. You then have a really good mix for seedlings, house plants or cuttings.
The packaging is green and it states "Perlite" which from my observations seems to be true.If the manufactures claims are indeed correct the bag should contain a small white pebble like substance which has many uses.The jury is still out on this one so I'm going to have to give it an average rating.Disclaimer: I have not yet purchased this item.
