I typically hate any quartz watch as they are very soulless compared to any mechanical, however this watch is one of the true exceptions for me. The second hand ticking twice per second helps with the look, and the size and shape of the case make it wear significantly smaller than the huge 45mm size would imply. It wears a lot more like a 40 or 41mm. The look and depth of the different dial features are extremely clean and well done and the watch is really easy to read at a glance. It has that NASA mandated design which is simple yet outstanding.Had it for two weeks now and the accuracy is every bit as good as Bulova advertises. Excellent service by Deepak, as usual. The watch itself looks fantastic in real life. It is a little longer on wingspan but not noticeably so. It does sit a little higher because of the leather strap behind the case but Iām bothered. My only design concern is how the sapphire sits above the bezel by 1-2mm, leaving the edge exposed. I always manage to clip my watches on wall corners or the frame of the car door. And with the rough and tumble experienced at work at times, itāll be interesting to see how the sapphire holds up. Otherwise I love it. Oh another bonus is I grabbed it before the price went up a little.

Couldn't go past adding a Lunar Pilot to the collection when it was on sale. Very happy with the buy and the watch. Was initially going to get the stainless steel 96B251 but I think the black case, no date dial and Bulova print looks better. If you're worried about the fit on wrist, try one on first. I have a smallish wrist and had heard a lot about the big lug to lug measurement but it fits and wears comfortably for me. Stunning looks, dial detail and outstanding time keeping with an interesting back story, it's up there for the best $399 I've spent.Transaction with Starbuy was great, no fuss and fast delivery. Always a pleasure dealing with them.

If you are looking for a nicely built matte PVD style chronograph with some heritage for a reasonable price, this is a strong candidate. It's not too big on the wrist, gets nice compliments and keeps fantastic time. The chrono seconds hand sweeps like an auto. On the downside, I wished Bulova spent a little extra to make this a real tool watch. 1: drill lug holes. The standard spring bars are virtually impossible to remove 2: better lume. Weak at best only lasts a few hours 3: ditch the leather strap. It needs a bracelet or a NATO I really do enjoy it very much, may get it properly lumed. Recommend.
Putting aside bands, there are three versions of the Bulova 'moon watch'; one has a brushed case which is closest to the original watch that went to the moon, however, the Bulova logo on the dial is modern and it has a date window, which the original didn't have. This PVD model and a stainless steel model which is highly polished (and just a bit too 'bling' for my taste), have the correct 1970s logo and no date window. So, for me, it was a no-brainer to go for this PVD model. It's beautiful and looks more expensive than it really is. If Bulova ever do the brushed case with the correct logo and no date window, I will buy one of those, too!
Great looking watch. The black case gives the dial smart modern look. The size is not an issue on my 17cm wrist, wears the same as my Seiko diver's watch. The history is why I bought it. Strap is the only fault in my view, the end only just makes the second keeper.
Things to be aware of:- while it's a 45mm watch - which is big - it wears smaller and in black definitely looks more reasonable on the average size wrist.- aside from the appearance (which great), the UHF quartz feature is a big selling point. Very high accuracy is a major selling point.- the chronograph functions work reliably and well. The recessed pushers are a nice touch.- It's a relatively heavy watch, and quite tall. Keep this in mind, particularly with regards to the clothes you expect to wear this with. And overall, I would definitely buy the watch again.
Extremely happy with this model. Out of all the watches I have that are quartz and automatic....this is the most accurate. It is tracking <1sec per month. It has a decent weight to it but is not that thick so still wears quite well on the wrist. Very legible. Minute hand extends right through to the markers. The leather strap is very soft. Not sure how long it will last but it is very comfortable so far.
Iāve been eyeing these for a while and looked at a lot online reviews. I was a little concerned about the size of it, but Iām tall with a 7.5ā wrist so when the stealth one came on sale recently, I decided to go for it. I have big hands also, so I think that helps keep the watch size down. I think it wears well on me. I tried a 40mm watch recently, and it looked a tad small on me. The thin but sturdy leather strap keeps the weight down also. And itās supple and has a matt finish in keeping with the watch. I like the vintage design of the watch and the strap with the thin keepers. The dial is more 3D than the photos show. It has a surprising depth to it. The contrast of the white on black is really nice. I can tell the time at a glance. Some dials are so busy it ...Ā MoreIāve been eyeing these for a while and looked at a lot online reviews. I was drawn to the high accuracy as well, and it is still spot on (although itās only 2 weeks old, I would have been concerned had there been any drift in that time). Although the flat saffire crystal sits a little proud, I havenāt had any issues with knocking it and is part of the unique design. The AR coating works well. This is my first Bulova. Iām very glad I got it. Itās enjoying a bit of wrist time. I think itās a special watch. Itās definitely a keeper for me. Starbuy as usual, were excellent. Their shipping and communication are just so good.
The size/fit is always a hot topic with this piece, and I was a little worried. But Iāve found that it actually fits my 6.75 inch wrist ok. Yes, itās bigābut if you go into it knowing this, I think it will suit most average sized wrists, and even slightly smaller. The dial is an absolute stand out. In particular, the depth created by the recessed outer markings and the applied indicies is stunning.Iāve also read other reviewers who were unhappy with the leather strapāIāve found it to be of good quality, and perfectly suitable for the watch.Iām also glad I went with the black cased versionānot a huge fan of blasted case finishes, but the black case looks excellent.Who would buy a plastic MoonSwatch when there are options like this for the same or less price!
