Bushnell 10x50 Legacy Binoculars

This is my first pair of binoculars. I selected them based on researching and comparing models online within my pricerange (under $.) I also have tested out a few other models owned by others. I don't have great vision but I love nature and wildlife so I wanted binoculars so I could see things that are farther away better than I could otherwise. I suppose this is what binoculars are for but I've tried a few friends binoculars out before and it was almost not even worth using them, the image I saw through them would be darker with a small field of vision and it was a headache to track things with because they seemed more likely to be shakey (including a pair of $ + 8x42's.) However, this pair of 10x50 binoculars was everything I hoped it would be. They do everything I want. The image quality is extremely good, bright- even in low lighting conditions, and the field of view is generous. I also find it much easier to track birds in flight and whatnot. All of this i'm sure is due largely to the 50mm lens, allowing for the great field of vision and light to come in making the image bigger, better, and easier to move around steadily. I haven't used high end binoculars to compare these to, but I feel no need to, these do exactly what a want.....for a tradeoff. The porro design and the 50mm lens defninitely make for a large pair of binoculars. This doesn't bother me, I don't plan on backpacking with them or anything, just taking with me on day trips and whatnot, if I ever found myself wanting for a 'better' pair, size would be the only real issue, as image quality is wonderful with these. I also liked that they were fully multicoated and water/ fogproof for the pricerange. I haven't tested the waterproof capabilities, and their durability over time remains to be seen (they feel really solid though,) but thus far I am extremely pleased. The rubberized texture also makes these easy and pleasurable to hold. I guess another thing not so great is the quality of the carry case and strap. I'm glad it came with those things but I can see upgrading these in the future perhaps, but for the how much these cost ($) I'm not bothered by that, I'd rather have a great pair of binoculars with a cheap case than a cheap pair of binoculars with a good case. All in all excellent and exactly what I wanted for the price I wanted to pay, I already have two friends who like them so much they're going to get some too)

I wanted that quality at a reasonable price.After doing my research, learning the pros and cons of roof and porro prisms, I decided on old tech (porro prism) with new manufacturing process's. Once I made my decision the hunt began and I kept coming across positive reviews for the Bushnell Legacy Series.I was skeptical about purchasing the binos sight unseen since there is not a retailer in my area that carried them. I don't regret it at all from both the seller or product point of view.The binos are big and heavy but not totally cumbersome. However, what you get in return is spectacular and well worth the investment! The glass is extremely clear and bright which will be very helpful in finding your target in the early morning or late afternoon under a heavy canopy of periods of diminished light. The picture? Remember looking through a View-Master when you were a kid? Yes, real life 3-D images! Even looking at leaves on the trees in breathtaking; it is that good. I can only imagine what I'll see in the future. When I was growing up I only shot paper but in my mid to late 50's I will be a first time hunter starting with small game.Power? I thought 10x50 binos would be overkill but I have discovered they are perfect for my current and future needs. The fact of the matter is I am looking for things besides hunting just to use them.The quality of the old B&L is in these modern day optics and I do not regret my purchase. The Bushnell Legacy 10x50 Binoculars will be my first and last purchase; they are that good! Do yourself a favor and buy a pair. I also suggest a harness to save yourself from a sore neck and get outside!

The on-line ordering was flawless. Selected to pick up in-store. The pickup location scanner would not read the printed bar code, even for the employee. Employee entered the code associated to the bar code and machine released the package.The Bushnell binoculars work great as expected. I've tested other more expensive brands with not much of a difference. Can't justify the extra cost over the Bushnell's. Following the provided instructions I adjusted the binoculars to my eyes. The focus is good. The clarity is good. The wide field is good. Like the feel of rubber coating and the sturdiness.Very satisfied.
