The smell is so unbelievably good - I bought this without smelling it first (risky I know) but I did abit of research online and it sounded like a good match. The smell is expensive and rich, I love scents with Oud and this did not disappoint. It's pricey for the size but the smell is long lasting throughout the day and therefore I feel it's worth paying for that quality. It's very unisex and would work well with both women and men, I myself am male and it strikes just the right balance of bold more masculine smells with hints of sweeter undertones

I am on my 4th bottle of this. I love it, clearly. It's a beautiful warm woody smell, I get many compliments on it. I do sometimes consider trying another smell from Byredo as so many ofhtem smell great, but I always end up repurchasing this one. It's a classic, I hope they never stop making it. I would LOVE to have it in a smaller bottle though as although you can decant for holidays, this is a quality and thus heavy glass bottle.

I LOVE this smell. I tend to go with citrus, airy and fresh smells but this is more mature, deep, woodsy, and v invigorating; more of a masculine smell but still soft. Not one smell stands over another, but rather it’s a perfect blend between all of them and burns nicely throughout the day. After 3-5 spritz in the morning, I have to re apply after 6-8 hrs while sedentary. Many compliments on it but it’s not overwhelming or too aggressive. My bf is allergic to many fragrances but he loves this one. Packaging reminds me of the Apple boxing experience - luxurious and thoughtful. If I was to mix it with something, the Chance Chanel would be it. Can’t wait to try other fragrances!
I recently received a sample of this and I loved it. I know the notes say it is a man’s fragrance but I disagree and I think it is like the majority of Byredo scents and is suitable for either sex. It’s a citrusy, fresh fragrance that smells really clean and nice. It lasted quite well (although not as well as some of the heavier Byredo perfumes) and made you feel really fresh. An ideal summer fragrance for men and women. I would like to see more Space NK stores having samples available on Byredo - it’s an expensive mistake if you can’t try it first.
This doesn't smell anything like one would expect from the name 'Black Saffron' or from the headnotes listed. I was expecting something dry, smokey, and spicy. I was hoping for something sexy and mysterious. On me, this fragrance is incredibly wet, green, and fresh smelling. This transports me straight into a forest after a spring rain. I get tons of wet violet, both the bloom and the leaves, ivy, a bit of rose, a touch of the raspberry, and only the teeniest fleeting hint of saffron that peeks out every once in a while. The dry-down of this couldn't be more different from when you first put it on. The morning after I put this on is when the Cashmeran makes an appearance, it is an almost heady, milky, creamy, powdery, sandalwood musk smell. This perfume is my favourite from this brand so far. It has the staying power one would expect at this price point. Punchy oud, seductive, dark. Definitely a power perfume that brings out your inner vixen at night! As I always say, try before you buy when spending this kind of money! This could be overpowering on some people. I personally absolutely love it.
