You can do better for a camera...you can do worse. Important to me was the built in pop-up flash and photo taking RAW image files. Weight---I'm a backpacker so this being Canons lightest weight EOS was critically important. I happily worked my SL-1 to death (counter rolled over 3 times.) Looking forward to expanded video features on the SL-3 I haven't used yet.

Pros: For me, this camera is perfect. It was a total extravagance, as I only use it mainly for product photography to sell on line, but this is my hobby so I felt justified. It's a transitional camera from point and shoot to having manual control over my images. I am a total novice when it comes to photography, but I'm learning and already producing far superior images. I know there's so much more I can do with this camera, but can only take it one step at a time. Overall I'm thrilled and looking forward to taking pictures of my family, pets and grandchildren, over the Christmas holiday.Cons: On the pricy side. Could have done with a manual. I have to write things down from the online instructions and work in conjunction with the camera.

Difficult to review this product as bought for a gift. The recipient has used and feedback as such, is easy to use. Still getting use to taking pictures with the assistance of the 3" Vari-angle. Quality of pictures are excellent thus far. Dual uses of lenses is an advantage. Certainly a step up to a better camera to gain more experience with use.
My first venture into the world of digital SLR cameras. Got its first workout in the Cotswolds and the results are stunning. Easy to set up and use. Good quality lens supplied and lots of choice to share and download. Battery time is long between charges. Get a high memory SD card and a decent camera bag and you are on your way. This Canon camera does a really good job, takes wonderful photos and the ease of use is a big tick from me. Highly recommended.
Compared to what I would have paid on Amazon and at Best Buy, I got a great deal. This is a gray camera, (not made in the USA), but fully functional and works the same. The only difference is you have to switch it from PAL to NTSC which is easily done in the camera. That is the ONLY difference I can find. Most bundles ran btw $695-$750. I got mine on eBay for $650 out the door. This little Cam is lightweight and compatible with most EF lens even though its an APS-C Cam. You get the normal kit lens with it but the Cam shoots great.
Pros: Great entry level camera. The fact it comes with 2 lenses is what attracted me, particularly the 50mm prime lens for portrait pics.Cons: The camera and 50mm lens are good, the zoom lens that comes with it is very basic. Having only had the set for a few weeks, I have sold the zoom lens and purchased a used 17-55mm USM IS lens which transforms the pics. Imagine buying a really nice carbon road bike and then adding carbon wheels instead of the ones it comes with, the difference is enormous. So - good camera but lenses need to be better. In hindsight, I should have just purchased the body and then added lenses
This was bought to replace an older 700D. The real differences being size and weight. The 250D has the added advantage of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity and a 24.1MP sensor which gives really good results.It's amazing the additional functionality Canon have packed into quite a small form factor.
Pros: Easy to use basic features. Viewing screen is fabulous. Great detaul and clarity in pictures. Access to various Canon apps really helps your knowledge on how to use more complex features and develop your photography skills and techniques. Ideal for a DSLR camera beginner.Cons: Linking to wifi isn't always successful but this may be due to the wifi itself.
Pros: This canon model is alot lighter than my previous cameras, this is perfect for long walks and quick street photo shoots. Would be great if it was weather sealedCons: The weight distribution is slightly on the lower end when it comes to the actual camera body its fine and light, maybe too light. Once a lens is attached, the unit becomes front heavy which means I have to carry a tripod or monopod with me to steady the camera. Nota big deal though.
