I shoot mainly with a Leica M10 Monochrom and print on a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000, so other equipment may yield different results. However, this is absolutely my favorite photo paper for black and white prints. If you use the same printer, be aware that the PRO-1000 will try to force a large border for this particular paper (it does not for the pro lustre or glossy versions). I use the 8 1/2 x 11 and print 6x9 for most of my prints using the 35mm aspect ratio, and am super happy with the results as the printer wants 1 border minimum. For large prints, I also purchased the 13x19 size paper.

I print high resolution black and white and color photos. This paper is incredible. No gloss so no reflection when viewed from any angle. Fantastic color and grayscale, looks like 3D images in some cases. I photographed a watercolor painting with brush marks and people thought it was the original painting. Both Epson and Canon inkjet printers. I like the Canon G620 printer the best, but slow printing.

As I've mentioned in other paper reviews, we picked up a Canon printer about a year ago. It's been terrific and it came with some Canon paper included. This was actually the Luster finish, but there is a bit of gloss or reflection to this paper...so we wanted to try a Matte finish to minimize this. Having run a few test prints I can say that I'm happy with the results. This paper has a nice weight and feel to it, the images look great, and as has been the usual case with B&H, the price was excellent. It makes trying different types of paper an affordable venture, which I really appreciate.
Im a big fan of the matte paper look and usually ordered Epson hot press and Moab Entrada (both matte fine art papers) prints from professional labs before I bought my printer. Ive tried several different matte papers on the pro-100 and so far this one is my favorite. Its an extremely fine tooth paper that also allows for some of the deepest blacks Ive seen on any matte paper. I also recommend you stay away from Red River papers if you have the pro-100. Their profiles have horrible color accuracy.
This paper is a little different than the matte prints I order through the print shop. The print shops print on a glossy matte paper. This paper more resembles polished construction paper. The portrait prints I printed came out great. Zero glare. I have every canon pro paper in the 13 x 19 size. I prefer the canon museum art paper to the matte. The museum paper is thicker, less of a faded look, and slightly whiter than the matte. I'm glad I purchased the matte paper. I'll use it on select portraits and family shots until I run out. Once I'm done with the matte paper I'll stick to the museum paper. Canon printer : pro-100 Canon camera : 5diii
I needed some 150 sheets to print 8x10s. I was thinking of cutting my 17x22 semi gloss canon papers. But I always disliked the thinness of that paper. It gets dings way to easily. Now, this matte paper is easy to handle, has a great surface, and with the right profile I got 90% perfect right away. Knowing the paper I will get up to at least 95%...
Service was great with quick turnaround. I did not notice a statement in this item's description about its color. If I missed it, I apologize. But this paper is great quality, exactly what I expected, except it's color is vanilla, definitely not white.
Make sure you dont try to use this paper as a fine art paper, because it isnt one. I print using a Canon ip8720 and get great results with several Canon papers (Platinum Pro, Luster Pro, Glossy II) except this one. Tried B&W prints using the default Canon matte paper profile and the other fine art paper profile. Results were horrendous with very poor dynamic range. With the latter profile, fine arts papers from Canson (Rag photographique) and Museo (Portfolio rag) give fantastic results. Of course the price is different.
I am a crafts person who makes greeting cards. For each major holiday I create a card that I need to reproduce. The paper I was using was too lightweight. I researched photo paper and was pleased with the results after using the Canon Pro Premium Matte paper. I will continue to use this paper. Also the prints color wise are beautiful and just like the original. Thank you for having the paper available at a good price for someone who only uses a small amount.
