I love photography; even though I am only an amateur. However, I didn't have a good camera and was only using the camera on my cell phone, so that's why I decided to get this camera.I love being able to give pros and cons about a product when I leave a review; however, I have not found any cons about this camera at all. I think this thing is amazing.Unfortunately, I cannot tell you everything about this camera, because there are so many features that I am still trying to figure it all out. It might take me a while. *Laugh*So far though, the pictures have come out amazing and I have already learned how to do things such as change from taking a normal picture to taking a black and white picture and how to set a self timer. So, here are a few things I have learned about this camera, that I absolutely love.First of all, you don't the flash on there at all and that is because there is a little switch on the side of the camera. Once you push that little switch, the flash pops up out of the camera. This in my opinion, is great because it actually keeps the flash protected.Another awesome feature is that the screen where you see what you are taking a picture of, can actually fold upwards, so that if you want to set a self timer and take a selfish or a group photo, you can still see what you are taking a picture of and you can see whether or not the camera is getting everyone in the picture. If you have something to sit the camera on, or a tripod to use, this function, will actually allow everyone to be in the picture and you do not have to worry about finding someone to take the picture for you. This to me, is one of the greatest features ever. Especially since I have been places with people before and wanted a group picture, but either no one else was around to take the picture, or I was I guess too shy to ask a stranger or was worried it might be an inconvenience to that random person. Now with this camera, problem solved.Another thing that makes me in love with this camera, is that there is an app you can download on your phone that allows you to transfer pictures from your camera to your cell phone and you don't even need internet to do it; you only need a smart phone that currently has data service. This allows me to quickly and easily send pictures to other people or share them on social media. With the features I listed and the many more I'm sure to learn about on this camera, I will definitely be getting a lot of use out of it.Whether you are a novice or a pro, this is a camera I would recommend to anyone that likes taking pictures and I officially think this is the best camera I have ever owned.

his is a good little camera for the family. It fits easily in a pocket, light for kids to handle, it's simple enough for them to use (on auto) and get them to enjoy taking pictures during our outings, yet it has many featues we, adults, can use to have a little more control. I am in no way expert, but I did appreciate the zoom and the option to keep the camera either on auto, or on any mode it offers, which offers more freedom. The zoom is powerful, but seems to give less than sharp images when used to its fullest. The camera comes with a menu that displays on the camera's screen, which allows you to play with all the different settings, and there are quiet a few. You can take selfies, which my kids discovered first. We don't have a need to transfer the pictures to ... Morehis is a good little camera for the family. It did not come with a cable to connect to a laptop or comptuer, nor did it come with a card. Just things to know.

I previously purchased a Canon Powershot ELPH 360HS from B&H, but I dropped it while filming. Oh, no! The ELPH worked great for a small compact camera, so I was sold on Canon. I looked at Nikon and Panasonic cameras but was immediately sold on the Canon SX740HS because it had incredible zoom equivalent to much larger SLR's. Over the years I have had 3 of them and this new one has the 180 degrees flip up view screen. The camera is easy to operate on Auto and you can additionally select different settings according to your needs and preferences. I brought a case for it that attaches to my belt and it takes great photos, night or day. The photos are sharp and color correct. It can connect to your smartphone easily for transferring photos. Great camera, highly recommended.
Over the years I've had several Canon models, i.e. SD700, SD870IS and SD260HS. As I advanced in features, I gave my old camera to my wife. She recently lost hers so I bought her the SX740HS.I stepped through the setup menus and had little problems; they are well organized and fairly easy to find my way around based on my experience with previous models. I really like the 40X optical zoom and it seems easy to take clear pics zoomed out. Really nice that it chooses closeup mode automatically when needed. The flip up screen seems nice but it does make it a little heavier and thicker. I don't have much experience taking selfies since I've never used a smartphone so right now it is of dubious value to me.Lastly, the ability to create folders on the camera and store ... I'm new to the world of photography that isn't just on my phone and this camera has a lot going on. I'm slowly getting acquainted with all the different modes and when best to use them. This camera is amazing and continues to impress me the more I use it.Some of my favorite features are the 40x optical zoom which helped me capture some gorgeous shots of the lunar eclipse this year and the Bluetooth connectivity and wifi transfer! I can transfer images from the camera directly to my phone in a matter of seconds, it's very impressive! The videos you can capture are stunning in 4K UHD, I'm so excited to capture more memories in such clarity. It's pretty easy to use and I'm slowly getting better at operating it and more in tune with its features.I love that it has ... It's an amazing little machine!
I really like this Cannon camera. It takes beautiful photos and the quality of pictures is really great. I especially love that you can download the Cannon app and have you pictures sent directly to your phone. This camera really lets you capture the vibrancy of colors and all of the little details. I was very disappointed that the camera did not come with a memory card. I would not expect a really great card to come with it, but I would have been happy with anything. After getting the camera I had to go out and get a memory card before I could use it. Besides that, this is a great camera. I also really like how small and compact it is. The flip screen feature for taking selfies is really awesome. If you are looking for a small, nice quality camera, this is the one.
You know it's a great camera, when people ask What camera do you use?! This is the second one I have purchased. There is so much to love about it! I am a birder and for years, I toted around a large Rebel and I always felt like I was banging it around -- and even worse, I would sometimes leave it behind to reduce my load. Anyone who birds, knows that the rarest birds you see are when you are without your camera. I bought this camera (I started with the 720 but I dropped it hard on a rock, so I bought the SX740 HS as its replacement) a couple of years ago and I LOVE IT! It is so easy to use (I rarely take it off of auto focus) and the best is that it fits in a reasonably sized pocket and I stow it in my car's center console so I ALWAYS have it now -- and I still see ... It is so easy to use (I rarely take it off of auto focus) and the best is that it fits in a reasonably sized pocket and I stow it in my car's center console so I ALWAYS have it now -- and I still see rare birds. I use a small padded case MegaGear MG037 that clips to my belt loop -- I swap out the clip which gets caught and I use a Outdoor Element Firebiner survival clip that has a couple of handy gadgets and is a much larger clip). Anyway, the SX740 takes incredible pictures and its 40x optimal zoom really delivers, as does its even greater 80x digital zoom. While it takes exceptional video, I am really more of a still shot person. Since this is a point-and-shot camera, some of the quick shots are missed -- darting birds are hard to capture, but overall I would HIGHLY recommend this camera -- and I frequently do. I bought a second battery for a back up so I can continuously use the camera during migration. I used to travel internationally with the Rebel and this one, but now I bring 2 of these since they will both fit in my purse.
I am a four decades long loyal Canon Camera fan going back to the A-1. These potentially great Canon cameras with affordable long lens of fantastic (40 - 60x magnification) must have an Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) to make any practical use of the great magnification. This is my third Canon camera I have owned and most expensive. The first two gave me great service for many years. I expect the same of this one. I have only used my camera twice since I purchased it. Each time I use it I become more comfortable with it. I am enjoying the most powerful zoom lenses I have owned. The pictures have come out better than expected. It is light-weight and small enough to fit in my pocket. Most of the buttons some what easy to figure out. I haven't tried the video option yet. It is curious, that the Bluetooth options to not include a PC. They options are for a cellphone, printer, or cloud.
