Well packed,. Had to use external DVD drive to load the manual and set up, although a compendium file is available online. Lighter than expected, with a huge footprint but was what else do you expect on an A3 printer. Prints effortlessly on thick, craft card as well as on ordinary and good quality paper, A4 to A3. Will try it on photocard once amazon find my house. I had to connect it by USB directly, as it refused to connect on WiFi or network, using Canon's manual and help, While it did accept my router and WiFi password details it insisted on demanding an administrator's password as well, as if it was a business machine.. Very difficult to set up as a wireless printer. You need a password for the printer. This is only available by contacting Canon, who then give instructions on how to access the password which, in turn, is hidden within the machine and only accessible by printing certain details via the printer following pressing and entering a coded message.I only wanted to print photographs, not spy for NATO or some such.

The printer is very easy to set up and print images. I have a USB connection to my MacMini and print by WiFi from my iPhone and tablets with great success. Good solid printer, works better with normal paper

I bought the printer because it prints to the edge of the paper (aka borderless printing) and handles A3, which is a real nice-to-have.It's not brilliant for photos - the gradation of the printing isn't fine enough, but for mainly graphical posters, which is my primary requirement, it's excellent. Was pleasantly surprised to find I get a better result with 120gsm paper than with matt photo paper - the blues especially are better executed.I've printed one A3 sheet so far, which came out borderless as required.The installation on my Windows 10 PC includes a 'quick menu' of rubbish, but could probably be uninstalled. The printer driver itself is standard Canon.4 stars because the photo printing could be better. Otherwise, an excellent buy.

Bought to replace same model that had worked tirelessly for years, until it finally gave up. Excellent dependable printer that can print A3. Can't really fault it at all, that's why we went for the same model again! Nice that it came with some inks in the package, but if you use the printer regularly, it's well worth getting the XL size ink cartridges that are offered!

Good Points: I find the print quality amazing across all paper sizes and types - image definition is as good as professional printing in my opinion but I do stick with CANON paper for those items I put on display as I have found cheaper photo paper fades. Ink usage is perfectly acceptable and I use compatible ink cartridges without problems to keep costs down. Finally, the ability to print A3 on a printer less than £200 is fantastic and print speeds for all paper sizes per sheet are seconds rather than minutes which is another plus.Improvement Points: On powering up it chugs away for several minutes presumably cleaning the print heads so I always switch on well in advance if possible! This is probably due to intermittent use of the printer.

I haven't had the chance to test all of its abilities yet, but I've used Canon printers before so I'm not expecting problems there. It's easy to load paper and ink cartridges, and doesn't have intrusive paper trays – you can fold everything away when you're not using it. I also like that it can print borderless up to A3 size and that the printing process is adjustable from the print driving software.
