Best communicator I have owned!

Very light, easy to use. Incredible sound. The control wheel makes easy to control even with gloves on. The sound is impressive even at high speed with lots of wind. Battery lasts a long time. Longest ride has been over 5 hours with music playing non-stop and GPS guidance transmitting too. Pairs wiht no effort to other communicators. Phones-calls are loud and clear on both ends. I have been told that when I am not talking it is like the microphone was muted. They do not hear any noise or sound at all while they are talking. I ride a very loud Harley and people canhear me with no issues at all.

Bought the Card Frecom 2x Headset about a month ago and could not be more pleased with it for bike to bike communications for myself and my wife. We are only interested in bike to bike so we have not paired up anything else. I do not want to talk on my phone or listen to music. I expect to pair up a GPS as soon as I get one with Bluetooth capability. The units are easy to use and the speakers are fantastic....clear and no wind noise. A bit of advice though ...those units are not compatible on half helmets and, with the help of the the good people at FortNine, we could not find a way to make it fit. I use a full face so no problem. My wife was using a half helmet but needed to replace it so she went with the three quarter and the Cardo 2x works and fits perfectly. ... MoreBought the Card Frecom 2x Headset about a month ago and could not be more pleased with it for bike to bike communications for myself and my wife. Purchased this to replace an ancient unit. Setup was very easy and audio is terrific. Fm reception works well and the capability of pre- programming stations and phone contacts is a very nice feature. Have not yet tried communicated with another headset, but i do not expect and issues. This unit is more than ample for a 2 bike group. Unit is well made and mounting was easy. The 40mm speakers barely fit into the rear pockets in my helmet. The new 45mm would definitely be a problem. Great purchase. Thanks.

Great System
6 July 2022

Very nice system. I primarily bought this to be able to communicate with my daughter when I take her for rides, make sure she's awake, etc. Being able to listen to music and answer/make phone calls on the road is way nicer than I thought it would be. Wouldn't want to ride without it now. Battery life is good and charging is quick and easy. Easy install and the software for the phone is easy to use. I've ridden in some light rain but haven't really put the waterproofness to the test yet. Sound is excellent when wearing the helmet on the couch, still pretty good on the road with earplugs in, just remember to turn the volume down when your done or you'll blast your ears next time you out if on. I'm glad it has the FM radio too.

Great quality, timely shipping.

I had purchased this after alot of research. I rarely drive in a group but wanted the "natural voice" component so that I could use maps and music (hands free) on my phone while driving. The install went well and it came with everything you need. My biggest disappointment may very well be a phone/helmet issue. The mics don't seem to pick up my voice over the wind noise in my full face helmet. I have tried moving it around and experimented with both mic types without any luck. In closing I probably would have bought a cheaper unit for doing what I'm able to do with this one.

Speaker quality is really good, the batter lasts a long long time if you are just using it for navigation, and still a pretty long time for music and or phone calls.Install was super easy, my Sedici helmet even had grooves for the equipment already.Easy to manipulate with gloves on, power on and power off sounds are really pleasant.Made a phone call to test out while I was riding, the receiver said she could barely hear any road noise or wind and I could mostly hear her well (I was also wearing ear plugs)

It's good.

Its my first headset and I'm still learning it but I find the welcome, goodbye and in-between beeps way too loud and havent found a way to fix this so far. I use it mostly to listen to music on my commute and for that it's just alright. Not too loud for most of the volume range and too loud for the rest. Mostly higher sounds are noticeable when on highway and rarely any low frequencies. For conversations its good when at busy city speeds but not comfortabe above 60kmh. Other party can hear all the wind and surrounding noise unless when talking but at least they can understand you better than you understand them.

Lacks bass
26 April 2023

I bought this so I could listen to music and receive calls. I am using an iPhone and connection is quick and great. calls are good and set up is quick and easy although it may need some skills to hide the wires and setup. I have a com ready helmet so it wasn't hard to install since there's slots ready for the mic and speakers. practically a plug and play. My only complain is that the bass is weak.I'm not sure if it was just my unit but I am a bit disappointed with the sound. It lacks bass considering it is an upgrade to the basic (branded as JBL speakers.) I know that it is a small speaker, but normally speakers in an enclosed helmet would sound great and wouldn't even need powerful bass at all but music isn't as satisfying with this unit.

Music sounds good. The comms are hit and miss on connecting. And when i do connect with my passenger i can hardly understand her. These are set up exactly as they should be but ive talked thru tin cans and string that worked and sounded better. Guess im stuck with an expensive music player. Shes back to tapping me on the shoulder and pointing. And i got these to use for our Sturgis trip. Sad.

I bought this Freecom 2X mainly to interface with my Garmin ZumoXT nav system so that I could get turn by turn directions in my full-face helmet. It works GREAT! I always ride with soft earplugs to eliminate engine and road noise and I was able to clearly hear music, the nav directions and phone calls from my phone on my Softail that has a Rhinehart exhaust on it at 75MPH. The 40mm JBL speakers and mic installed easily into my HJC helmet. It took me a little while to figure out that to connect both my phone and the nav unit, you don't want to have the Freecom connect directly to the phone.
