The Carhartt work trousers are made of the famous and robust Cotton Duck fabric, which is almost indestructible. To increase comfort, 1% Spandex Rugged Flex was added to the fabric, which is noticeable in the course of movement. The cut is straight, the pants are a little tighter. In addition to the spacious front and back pockets, there is also a multifunctional pocket on the thigh and a hammer loop. The seams have been reinforced accordingly, as has the interior of the back pockets.

For 25 years straight I have continuously owned at least one pair of Carhartt work pants. I wear them intensively and then, every two or three years, buy an exact replacement pair. Lately there has come to be signficant variability in the quality, design, and sizing of the pants. This time I ordered the exact same product that I last purchased three years ago. However, this pair fits much differently and has a different design in the knee. They're also made in a different country than the last pair. It's as if Carhartt has limited quality control across its various international factories and across time.

ordered slim fit, and the label says straight fit, but the product numbers seem to correlate. Maybe it's all the same?I'm 6'4" 200lbs 44'" chest for shape reference. In comparison to the 34/36 slim fit levies I buy...Waist is tighter. Too tight and no stretch.calf material is more voluminous. I'd say a straight cut in any other jean brand.I like feel and color of the material, but there is no discernible stretch, it's like regular ol' canvas.I would think a 36/36 would be baggy as hell on me, from the amount of material in these.I would say, Straight and light in the waist measurement is the accurate description, as they fit like a classic levi 505 non flex straight cut, and not like a levi 514 slim with flex. Not quite what I was hoping for.

The good- nice fit for me being tall and skinny, and good quality materials. The bad- The belt loops are paced comically close to one another (this is apparently only done on small waist sizes for some reason). The coin pocket is super deep (almost 7in) so it is really hard to get anything you put in it out, rendering it basically useless. The hammer loop is too small to fit any standard hammer (no Estwing will fit), thus making it completely useless.I can't fathom why work pants would be designed so poorly. I won't be purchasing them again.

Love the sturdiness of the fabric and the cut of the pants. Definitely need a few runs through a washing machine or something to fix the stiffness, though, because I literally cut my hand on the seam inside my pocket the first time I stuck it in there (and I'm elderly or thin-skinned).I didn't notice the loop on the back when I bought them, and I don't love that design choice, because it kind of knocks them out of the dress category of "business informal" that I might otherwise try to squeeze them into from time to time, but they're good pants.I bought three pairs (three different styles of Carhartt pants) in the same size. I wish Carhartt would cut more pants like this in this fit.Not all working guys want parachute pants.I'm not asking for skinny jeans here. Just form gotten work pants. These pants are phenomenal. They're sturdy and fit super well.I keep ordering more of them in fear they'll go away.Highly recommend if you like your pants to fit. These are HARDLY slim fit at all. They're "Carhartt slim" so regular fit in normal brands
Great pants. Heavy duty material with lots of stitching reinforcement. Very comfortable with plenty of flexibility without compromising on durability. I have a slimmer frame and these pants fit just to my liking. I prefer a slimmer fitting pant and these are just what I was looking for. Slightly tighter through the thigh than the relaxed fit but not much. The real difference is below the knee they are much slimmer than the relaxed fit. These fit perfectly over my lace up thorogoods. If wearing slip on boots the leg might be slightly snug on the shaft of the boots and may look a little funny but would still fit over them. Overall very pleased with the pants and the fit. First time Carhartt customer. I turned to this company because it's so hard to find pants with the correct set of features. I wanted rugged yet comfortable, with good belt loops, and phone pockets. These are great. I only take off one star because they only come in two colors. I got both. I would prefer the khaki that comes in the normal rugged flex pants. I got those too but they don't have a phone pocket (in the "slim" cut). I am annoyed that they make "5 pocket" pants but not phone pocket pants. Nobody carries a pocket watch anymore. Everyone has a phone. So the only reason I got these "duck" ones was the phone pocket. I'm still glad I got them. Would recommend.
They are very baggy for "slim fit" pants. They came in with multiple stickers saying "straight fit. I called customer service and she told me that's another name for slim fit. I strongly disagree as I ordered a different pair that came with "slim fit" on the stickers and they fit perfectly. Additionally these pants are not comfortable for everyday wear. They do not stretch, they do not get softer in the wash. I could probably stand these up on their own with how rigid they are. Honestly, very disappointed but my two other pant types I ordered were perfect.
I ordered these on a 20% off sale. Upon arrival I found that I needed a different size. I filled out the return form but there's no exchange option and they will only refund you. The sale had since ended so now I'd have to buy the pants at full price.I did a live chat regarding them honoring the discount I bought the pants on. After 15 minutes the live chat guy told me I'd have to call the phone support line. Upon talking to phone support they would honor the discount but I would have to call back once the original pants have been scanned in back at their warehouse. So it looks like it's going to be another 2 weeks before I can get these pants but since dealing with them has been such a pain in the ass I think I'm just going to go Duluth Trading Co since I know ... MoreI ordered these on a 20% off sale. Overall happy with Carhartt Utility Dungarees. I'd give the a 4.5 stars but no option for that. I do recommend buying them in a larger size in waist size because they do start to shrink in that area over year of washing. I wear a 34W but I need to buy a 36W due to the shrinkage. Have always loved the that they have side pockets on both legs (unlike all other brands) that and the usual durability keep me coming back. They need more colors in the Slim Fit size though.
