Casio GBD-800UC-5ER G-Shock G-Squad Brown Watch
G-Squad is Casio's sporty line of G-Shocks and has digital (GBD) and Digital/Analog (GBA) models. These watches have a step counter, Bluetooth connection, and training functions, but unlike common smart watches, these can take a beating, and the battery lasts for years. The GBD-800 looks husky, but the round shape and weight from the lower end of the series make it very wearable. The form descends from the legendary DW6600 as used by the Navy Seals. The 5 mm hole spacing (closer than normal) on the watch enables a better fit on the wrist. In addition to the precision strap, the watch has a lap/split button on the front and a comprehensive interval timer. If these appeal to you, comparison between models just got easier. The suffix UC-5ER means the color code (Utility Color, 5 for Brown) and European version. The various regions are most often just packaged a bit differently, and the manual language varies.

An excellent watch with good backlighting and dependable time keeping! An Excellent watch! I have owned many different watches over the years (some high-priced Seiko's, Invicta's, a Tag Heuer and a few others) and I can honestly say that my humble and simple G-shocks are just as good as almost all of them....for a lot less price!! (I am tough on watches....so I tend to look for the more durable brand....and G-Shock by Casio does not disappoint!)

I loved the style and was able to program it ok, but I returned it. The numbers are so faintly illuminated that I could not see them against the dark face. Plus, the numbers are not even light up until you place your arm in a completely horizontal position in front of your face, like the way Apple watches light up (I'm told). I bought this watch because I wanted a man's watch and not an Apple watch style. I returned this for a different G-Shock (GA-700UC) style watch with hands (not digital) that you can read just at a glance like a normal watch.

I have purchased Four "G-Shock" Casio watches. I DO "TUFF JOBS!" Jack Hammer, welding, grinding, jet skiing, etc. These watches TAKE A BEATING! All of my other G-Shocks had black letters/Numbers with a White background. This watch Doesn't. I just Plain-Couldn't-See-the-Numbers! In "low-light' it's even worse. I loved the looks of the watch. If it had "White letters and Numbers" I would most likely have it on my wrist. Yes, I Know I can set the back light to come on. That's Not the point. And, it does wear the battery down.

As a water-resistant digital watch, the Casio G-Shock Power Trainer is excellent in both design and function. It features a durable housing that allows for sports and activities in multiple environments without fear of damage.Overall, the Casio G-Shock Power Trainer is a functional, durable and reliable waterproof digital watch for athletes and fitness enthusiasts. If you are looking for a sports watch that is durable and full of features, this watch will be a good choice.
Its a G-Shock. so should be a 4-5 star watch, it's not. This watch is orange, but not bright in your face tango orange. It wears smaller than size specified (54.1 x 48.6 x 15.5 mm) but very comfortable, seamless bluetooth connection to G-shock app. Step count is not very accurate if worn for work as I believe it registers every arm movement as a step. Not yet used for fitness, so unable to comment Picture is very misleading, this is a negative display watch, that is, black on black and it is difficult to see at a glance, but the back light is great. Auto backlight (6 hours activation) and has to be switched on every day to use. One more slight gripe is date format, this is common on Casio watches. I expected Month - Day - Year, but Year-Month-Day is just weird in my ... MoreIts a G-Shock. so should be a 4-5 star watch, it's not. This watch is orange, but not bright in your face tango orange. The item is the photo is not the same colour as the actual product. I purchased this watch based on it being a light grey colour. The actual product is a very dark grey. Other than that the watch itself is good. Will keep it anyways as I'm in Canada and shipping it back is a pain.
Bought primarily for step tracking and regular watch/stopwatch functionality. Overall unimpressed. I was skeptical of the prior review, but it was accurate. IMO, not worth $100+.Pros:- Lasts 2 years and doesn't have GPS (= lower cost)Cons:- I found the wristband overly rigid and uncomfortable when the watch was snug- Display visibility is worse than in the photos on REI's website (as of this post, at least)-- The display is dimmer than depicted-- The display text is as small as it looks in the images. I found it harder to read while moving than other watches- The buttons sit below in the aesthetic ridges on the perimeter of the watch, which makes them harder to press than similar watches I've had. Went to a military college and so having a watch like this was vital due to the high intensity nature of the environment. This exceeded my expectations by far, just always reliable and great.I ride a motorcycle and do muay thai so when i’m in gear/at training I have to take the watch off and I feel bald without it. My first g-shock so not sure about comparison but still a great watch 👍
I bought this watch with two gift cards and $10 worth of ScoreCard rewards. Shipping was free. So it was essentially a gift.I was looking for a watch that could track steps, but also had durability and water resistance in mind. I also didn’t want a watch that looked too “tech-ish” and was made by a reputable company. I like it very much. The app is cool, setup was easy (self explanatory when using the app), and it is comfortable to wear 24 hrs a day. For <$100, this is an awesome watch. My only issue is that Dick’s doesn’t carry these in store. I wanted to see it with my own eyes before buying, but I’m glad I gambled and bought it online.
I have had Casio watches for 20 yrs. and have been quite satisfied until recently. The last two I've purchase were definitely disappointments. This one not only went dead several times on me, unbelievable since I live on Maui and work construction, the solar battery charger should work not problem. I also get fog inside the watch from time to time. The light works off and on. Sad
