This watch is very nice looking and several people commented on the beauty. In fact, one review was so over the top it was almost like he worked for Casio. For me functionality is the most important. The watch is difficult to set up and use because the three digital circles are nearly impossible to read. I returned this watch and have ordered a Casio Pro Trek. So we'll see how it works out.I have another Casio G Shock atomic solar watch that I've owned for 10 years and it functions perfectly. It's digital display and well lighted back screen are easy to read. I do not recommend this solar-atomic analog black/blue watch.

This is a good-looking and robust watch, but it is not perfect. One of the reasons I chose an analogue watch was due to failing eyesight, but there are issues with the lack of contrast with the hands on this model. In low light conditions, the watch can be difficult to read. In darkness, it is also problematic to use the light because it causes the 6 numeral to glow so bright that it is impossible to see the hands. The world time abbreviations are impossible to read and should have been backed up by the abbreviations appearing on the digital display, something that would have been easily achieved. £699 is a lot of money that is hard to read and essentially needs more development. I may have chosen a different watch with the benefit of hindsight. If I could, I would ... MoreThis is a good-looking and robust watch, but it is not perfect. Great watch for the outdoors
19 May 2021

I've had the watch for 10 days only, so these are initial impressions. The features that I appreciate the most (other than time keeping) are being SOLAR, its resistance to harsh environments (mud), water proof to 200m and the compass (a continuous compass reading would be preferable to instant readings). Moon phase is also a nice to have thing. I owned a solar watch before, so this was a definite requirement on my new watch. No battery changes for many years to come. Stop watch and countdown timer, while pretty convenient, are standard in today's digital watches. The only feature, so far, that I find not so satisfactory is the temperature measurement as it gets significantly affected by the body temperature. Finally, in its core function, time keeping, it is showing to be very accurate. May be 1 second difference, if that much, in 10 days. I ended up preferring the watch with the black characters over the light background mainly because I read some reviews where some people found it a bit difficult to read the screen in certain lighting conditions. In the end, I also think the black and gold design could become a bit tiring over the long term. In summary, a very well designed watch for the outdoors lover.

Low quality
22 January 2022

Honestly, that watch is of really low quality. I had to send it back after just 5 days of use due to horribly creaking/squeaking belt/band with every movement of my arm. On top of that the hours hand was not evenly covered with the fluorescent coating indicating low standards of quality control. That tripple sensor is a joke as well. Due to its position it will never show accurate temperature, and the altimeter since it's linked to the atmospheric pressure will give you unreliable results which even for that same location will change withing few hours. If you need to calibrate that every time then what's the point? It's over two weeks since I sent it back to the retailer (who subsequently sent it to Casio for assesment) and I'm still waiting for any updates. Not something you'd expect from a watch of this price tag (£699), which pretends to be a quality/tough piece. Shame on you.

Mud Master Tough Solar
20 November 2022

I bought the RAF special edition Gravity Master a couple of years ago and loved the features, and I thought the only thing missing was solar, so I bought the GWG-2000 because of the solar, but I find myself a little paranoid about getting enough charge into it, but we’ll see how it goes. Great looking watch and I love the fact it receives a signal to keep the time accurate. It probably has way more features than I will use but this watch is a great addition to the collection. It is very comfortable, more comfortable than the Gravity Master, because of the ‘wings’ inside the strap. Very happy !

I have to admit that I am not in the habit of leaving reviews for any purchases. However, this watch (given to me by my wife as a Christmas present) has pushed me to give a review for the first time. I initially spent a great deal of time checking for the type of watch that suited my needs after the early demise of my Sa#@ung smart watch. I realised that I didn't use 90% of the technology and that recharging the watch every day was a chore especially when I was away on business. Nice robust watch and not too heavy. Good retailer for Japanese watches.
14 September 2021

Comfortable on the wrist despite being larger than average size mens watches and not too heavy. Very easy to read the time at a glance, excellent build quality with some useful features. Bought it at a really good price through H Samuel happily honouring their price match promise in store. Third watch bought from this retailer. The staff in the Gateshead Metro Centre branch are always very pleasant and helpful. A good place to get a nice quality japanese watch. Previously bought a GMW-B5000GD-9ER g shock online from this retailer, during an earlier sale, at a fantastic sale price with quick delivery. Highly recommended retailer

Was supposedly strong but faulty
17 June 2022

Initially I was happy and excited to finally got my watch after less than 2 months it was faulty and have to return and refund. I wasn’t expecting this to happen specially from a well built G-SHOCK. The automatic hand adjustment function did not work properly. I notice when daylight saving time occur and it didn’t adjust automatically. When I check it was long time ago when it adjusted automatically. Hope next time they can add Bluetooth. I’m still hoping to have 1 but I’m reluctant to buy.

Worked four days, never actually got to weqr it.
14 August 2021

Stopped working after days, no display. Thought it was just a dead battery. Opened up the back to replace the battery. The battery clip wasn't latched, so I re-latched it. Nothing. Nothing in the user manual. Went online and found I needed to reset via a technique/process described on what should have been on a label attached to the battery. One problem, there was no label describing any thing. Tried a new battery and resetting per what I found online. Nothing again. Tried another battery with reset. Still nothing. The listing was "new with tags". I don't think it was new because it "didn't" have the reset instruction label on the battery and the band had what looked like white stuff on the bottom side where the band pins connect the band to the watch.
