CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Acne Control Gel - 40 ml

I would say I was shocked with the results when I used it the first time. I have hormonal acne, so they keep showing and clearing but lately it’s been a mess and my face has red acne scars that didn’t go away with anything. I tried this acne control by Cerave and I was impressed. At first impression, my scars minimized to the point that they were almost invisible. Even my husband was impressed when he saw my face (although I didn’t tell him what my secret lotion was 🤫😄) I kept using it and was satisfied with results. It just didn’t prevent the formation of more acne. I still got a few but I could say, it’s less than before. If you are looking for a solution for blemishes and acne scars, I’d say try this, however, the results might vary depending on everyone.

2x a day keeps the acne away

This actually helped clear my acne! I’ve dealt with acne for years and years. I have a lot of scarring because of it. Before going to a dermatologist for scar treatments, I wanted to try and get a handle on my “live” acne first. This took a couple weeks for my skin to adjust to but once it did, WOW! I used it both morning and night, followed by the cerave daily moisturizing lotion. It will dry you out a bit if you’re not moisturizing properly, but if you are I didn’t have any issues with flaking or things like that. I found it definitely helped stop my breakouts, and my face overall felt much smoother. I switched to the Cerave Retinol Serum for about a month because of those reviews, but found it wasn’t nearly as good as this stuff. I am definitely switching back!

Absolutely Love

This is a staple for anyone with acne prone skin. I have always struggled with blackheads and large pores and this product truly does help. I use it along with the CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser. It is so gentle, I can use it twice daily with no irritation/burning/dryness. I love that it's a gel so it spreads easily on my face and dries quickly. A little also goes a long way. The tube is a nice size and has lasted me a good while as well.

I was skeptical upon buying this product at first because i feel like i’ve tried almost everything throughout my years of real stubborn under the skin cyst like zits (murad spot treatment, med spa acne treatments, prescribe benzoyl peroxide, etc). Every once in a while i get big painful under the skin zits that can last weeks that are very embarrassing. But after reading the reviews i get the hype. It’s a pretty decent size for the price. After the first night of using this my zit noticeably went down. I am very pale so the area is still red. But the point is the zit is going away quicker. And it’s only a matter of a few days before it’s gone. So far good thoughts on this product and it’s only my second day using it! Disaster averted!

This definitely stopped what could've been a disaster right on the front of my nose. A decently sized pimple had started, it was red and slightly raised, threatening me. I've been using this product on it for about 6 days and I feel confident it will not rise up or develop a head anymore. It's been shrinking and has not grown since using the product on it. I also had a few smaller pimples on the sides of my nose that didn't get to grow up either. Worth the price! I am in my 30s and get the occasional pimple in the same area, my nose and upper cheeks, most likely due to rosacea and sensitive skin plus wearing masks everyday because of the pandemic irritates my skin more. Effective for oily skin.

I’ve had oily acne prone skin all my life. Dearth with bad acne throughout my entire teen years into early 20’s. A round of accutane, pregnancy, postpartum and my skin settled down a lot mid-late 20’s. Turned 30 and bam my skin changed once again to even more oily and acne prone than ever. The only thing that has helped is this serum and regular facials with my esthetician. I definitely recommend this for oily skin only. And I mean super oily, the type of oil that seeps out even just after 10 mins of washing your face. I put a layer of this on before moisturizer about every other day and it’s helped curb the acne and tone down oiliness.

It works, but the smell...

This product works. I used it once per day, at night after double cleansing with the matching Acne Control Cleanser. The liquid gel consistency doesn't fully absorb into your skin but it dries into a very thin layer that doesn't peel upon applying a moisturizer. Please apply the thinnest layer then let this product dry before applying anything else over it, otherwise it will peel. What I did NOT like was the maple syrup scent. It is overbearing and because of this, I won't be repurchasing.

This product has given me my life back

After 5 years of trying different products, this has been a God send. I have been going through menopause with hot sweaty episodes all day and night. This therefore led to severe acne on my face legs and forearms. Been to doctors and dermatologist. Believe it or not, they didn't know what to give me,always giving me wrong things. I even went through two rounds of chemical peels and giving me a cream called protopic which was prescribed. This inturn made everything worse. I told doctor and was told to keep using it. She was treating me for excema!!! I was looking like a monster. I cried everyday in the bathroom when I would take a shower. Normally I don’t really write reviews but I often look at them before deciding if I want to get a product. So, today I’m gonna actually write one to share with you all how GREAT this gel is! It is VERY lightweight and spreads easily. It’s also non-greasy, when i first start using this, it did purge my skin for about a week or two. After the purge phase was over my cheeks started to clear up very quick. I use a very small amount on my breakouts in the morning and night. Be sure to use moisturizer so it isn’t as harsh on your skin. 10/10 would definitely recommend to all of you!
