App is a train wreck!

I have had the T20 a little over a month now and I am thrilled with it. Finally both a robot mop and vacuum that live up to the promise of true automated cleaning. I have been too busy to worry about the details of using the app but it works well for whole house cleaning. Also it has a sense of humor. My child was asking the dog “Where’s my pretty girl” and Yiko answered “I’m here”

I bought this a week ago and was so excited to put it to use. We previously owned Ozmo 950 for almost 3 years and loved that device. So we wanted to stick with Deebot brand and upgraded to T20 OMNI. We are a bit disappointed with overall performance particularly given the price. The robot vacuums really well as advertised. However, the retractable mop which is supposed to pull up gets caught in the carpet rugs and gets knocked loose often. I have had this happen 3 times in the last 3 days and different spots within the house! The main reason for choosing this over X1 was this feature and it is disappointing that it does not work. We are likely going to return this unit.

It went into the spare bedroom, instantly wet itself on my carpets, made a bee line for under the bed and just stayed there for 15 minutes until I retrieved it. My dog used to do the same thing.I contacted customer service and they were telling be something about changing my wifi password. It was clear that there were fixing multiple problems at once. Not of them were mine.I did get it to mop some of my tile. It did a good job. If it would just not make a grinding noise while in transit, I might keep it.Oh yeah, it sometimes squeals.

Is it perfect?

Preface this with: I just got it in yesterday and have only used it once today.First, the cons:1. The app. You'd figure as long as Ecovacs has been doing this that they would have fixed their app by now.a. you still can't divide areas under certain circumstances. I have a foyer+dining room+sunken living room all as one area. I'd love to be able to separate those into 3 different areas, but since there's no normal size doorways separating them, NO.b. labels. oh come on, let me type my own labels! There's not even a foyer as an option. I don't call my office a study, but I have to. Nobody calls their hallway a corridor around here. No option for a guest room. Only bathroom, no distinction between main and guest. Just let me type my own labels, please.2. Only bathroom, no distinction between main and guest. Just let me type my own labels, please.2. And this is more of a "I wish it did this" instead of a "It does this wrong". It's still the old mindset of one way back and forth. I wish it'd do one way on one pass with wider routes then turn 90 degrees and go over the room again. It cannot miss anything doing that pattern. That being said, the deep clean feature on this does NOT miss anything.3. uh... well that's it!Now, the pros:1. Wow is this thing quiet. I'm coming from a T8 AIVI which lets you know it's in the room even before it kicks in turbo for carpet. T20 on turbo is quieter than T8 on normal. Even the mop hair dryer you can barely hear even if you're standing next to it.2. There's no water reservoir on the T20! This one is huge! Instead it just goes back to the base after X amount of minutes that you set, it cleans the mop heads, re-wets them, and then goes back to where it was to continue its job. Love this!3.The rotating mop heads are the best. The T8 had that annoying vibrating mop which is basically useless. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED my T8, it's just this T20 is light years ahead.4. I cannot stress how great of a convenience the clean/dirty water reservoir is. Admittedly they could be larger, or come up with a way to tie them into plumbing with another reservoir for the cleaning solution. I only say this because on my one run through I did a deep clean and I had to refill/empty the reservoirs once during the cleaning and it was ready for me to do it again at the end. I dunno what normal will be like but I'm excited. Also, it's not a very big house. The app says it did 656 sq ft in 1h54m. Like I said, deep cleaning is no joke.5. The deep clean feature! Basically it almost triples the number of back and forths it does by overlapping them a lot more. It's incredible.6. It's just that good. I mop regular enough, or so I thought, but that dirty water reservoir is definitely calling me out, ew!! Chocolate milk anyone? The T20 is a massive improvement over every other bot I've ever owned, and there have been many in my search for "the one". My search may finally be over, but it's only been a day. Let's see if their app still forgets my floor map every other week like it does for the T8, but that's just the app not the bot.I love this thing!

Keeping my life easy.

This thing does exactly what is supposed to do. I have been using the T20 for a couple weeks now and it replaced an old worn out N8+(3 years twice daily use). I set the vacuum up to my old vacuum’s schedule. I have multiple animals (Great Danes, no bigger mess makers) and between them and the family the create decent mess on a daily schedule. After a week I noticed the floors looked better and I reduced to one daily cleaning with the T20. The old AES needed weekly cleaning and daily water. Now, I Replace the water every other day and have not yet had to clean the AES. The Robot is really nice to look at and the functions in the APP are plentiful (almost too much). It’s about the overall times savings and how well it cleans, doesn’t matter how it got it done.Judging on the two most important items when looking for a robot vacuum.Cleaning & Time Savings….. The T20 is a five-star product.Let’s face it, if cost is an issue, how much is our time worth? With the T20, I just saved my self an extra hour and a half per week, at the end of the year, it just gave me an extra three days of my life back and I value that!!

Please fixed the APP!
23 July 2023

I bought this a month ago and was really happy about all the new and advance futures in this robot vacuum. However the app is a disaster.. I have constantly have to restart the app to be apple to resume task. The app is a nightmare. About the vacuum it self it works great however the mopping could be much better if could come closer to the board and corners. It leaves a huge gap between the vacuum path and the board away larger than my old T8 wish I loved. I believe a firmware can fix all of that. Please ECOVAC Make this one a perfect one so I don't feel that I put money on the trash.

Really wanted to fall in love but better on paper
24 July 2023

I tried the T20 for a month. It has a lot of potential but is much better on paper than in real life. Please note my feedback is just for the unit I received and not for all T20. The app has many more features and functionality than Roborock, but it is slow and laggy.App: It is challenging to split rooms and be unable to name their rooms yourself. You cannot rotate the map, and to refresh the current status, you have to go back out to the main screen and re-enter. It does not refresh on its own. And often, you get an error message stating it cannot retrieve data.Navigation: it is fantastic and works great when working, but it often has trouble returning to the docking station, especially if you have mirrors around that extend to the floor.Docking station: ... MoreI tried the T20 for a month. And often, you get an error message stating it cannot retrieve data.Navigation: it is fantastic and works great when working, but it often has trouble returning to the docking station, especially if you have mirrors around that extend to the floor.Docking station: Docking station Even sitting at the longest (15 minutes) interval to wash the mop pads, it utilizes a lot of clean water, which means to mop an 850 ft.² floor. You will have to refill the tank once.Performance: Suctionint power and mop cleaning is above average. The edge deep cleaning is only done every seven days, but if you want to have it done every time, you will need to turn off and then turn on the feature, then the housekeeping or auto mode (cleans the entire house). Otherwise, it doesn’t get very close to the walls. Another great feature on paper, but annoying having to do this manually every time.Battery life: it is just terrible. I’ve run the regular vacuum and mop simultaneously, and I’ll have to recharge to finish my 850 ft.² floor. And the charging time is prolonged. It takes about 6.5 hours to charge fully, so I must wait a long time before the job is complete.I’m unsure if it is a defect on my unit, but the mop pads fall off multiple times, just going over standard carpets or mats. I constantly get an error message that “not both mopping pad plates are installed.” I have to at least pop the pads back in twice a day on average. Meanwhile, it’s sitting there draining the battery, and the job never gets completed.Lastly, I don’t see a significant difference with the hot water wash to mop the floors. It is washed with warm water, and by the time it comes out, the mobs are cold within minutes.I really wanted to love this unit, and I was even stretching to convince myself to keep it, but ultimately I would not recommend the T20 until it improves the app, the navigation and securing the mop pads.I hope this was helpful because many video reviews are high-level and don’t address daily issues.

Too many flaws
17 July 2023

I'm so sad...like everyone else I wanted to love this. I was so excited to see a combo unit like this that lifts the mopping pads when on carpet. This was key for me as I have a mix of hardwood, tile and carpet on the main level. I haven't even had it that long and the errors come in pretty regularly. The vac often gets stuck trying to get up the ramp to charge. The "sink" is regularly flooded and can't pull up the water to the tank. If you set it to avoid carpet altogether, it will clean for about 10 minutes and cover about 1/100th of the room. And don't get me started on the app....the app......AWFUL!!! I paid over a thousand dollars for this and you make me see ADS every time I open the app? Gross. And trying to find your way around the app is nonsensical. What are these people saying?

Firstly, I never give anyone five stars so four stars is pretty good. I read the reviews and I had to go back to my machine and recheck if it's the one they are talking about because I have had none of the problems they elude to. I will say the app is NOT intuitive--if you are expecting an Apple product, forget it, and I wrote Ecovacs about it. However, it is not unworkable and I suggest to these people that they check out the you tubes online so they can tweak their programs. I was able to get a fairly good map, tell Yiko (a name I can do without) what order to clean in and whether to vacuum then mop or do both at the same time. Don't touch the button on the hoover monster, tell Yiko (sister to Yoko) to start--you have to use specific language whether talking directly or using Alexa or whatever--the phrases are in the instructions sent with the machine. There is also a way in the app to have the vacuum deep clean in the corners again that can be found on you tube or the instruction manual. So, yes, there is a learning curve here, and the vacuum is quite expensive except for us lazy types in the Western world, but it surely deserves more than 2+ stars.
