Really pleased I ordered this. We’ve used trip trap chairs for my first two and for some reason always got by serving food at the table. But the tray is a game changer to containing the mess; especially if you’re doing baby led weaning. Baby no 3 spends a lot of time in his chair and the tray helps him play toys, eat snacks and meals without constantly dropping them or tipping it on the floor. Really pleased I ordered this tray as I was forever pickup things from the floor.The design is simple, really easy to clean and really easy to fit, I didn’t need instructions it just clipped straight on to the baby set.

Slight flaw to the design unlike other high chair trays it doesn't have a flat layer. Literally nothing with suction sticks to it, bamboo bowls/plates manage it for a few minutes only with is a pain. I started to notice after purchase some bibs and toys warn you will not work on the Stokke Tripp Trapp.Our baby is small enough I can lift her out with the tray attached. If you need to take the tray off regularly the clip is really stiff/ hard to do. Fine for hubby but a real challenge for me.

This tray is sturdy, great surface area, simple to fit on and remove from the high chair and easy to wipe clean.Unfortunately the design flaw that lets it down is that suction plates won't stick. I gave my 8 month old baby some food on a bamboo plate with suction cup bottom, but as it didn't stick on to the tray, the plate and food were constantly being flipped over.The tray alone costs the same as some other high chairs, so you'd expect all functions to have been thought of.

This tray worked great until we had to take it off to clean it. The tiny clip at the center of the tray was hard to see and not marked so it wasn't clear that there was a release in the center. Long story shirt, we attempted to lift and it snapped in to three pieces. We had pressed on it and it flexed so little that it didn't seem like it was a mechanism so when it broke, it was pretty frustrating. The tray still rests ok without it in tact but it feels like it could have been designed better.
We love this high chair! The common criticisms you hear are that suction things don’t stick and it’s hard to clean/adjust. The suction thing is true. I’ve never found a good suction dish on this. However, I don’t find that to be a huge issue. We mostly have our toddler just eat off the tray. That leads to the second point of cleanliness. That is where I must disagree with common criticism. The tray is super easy to clip on and off of the high chair one-handed and this has been a very useful feature for me. We love our Tripp Trapp high chair and this is a solid, well-made accessory.However, I find it quite expensive at full price. Additionally, I've noticed that two different brands of suction plates we've used don't seem to stick well to it. I've read this complaint in a review of the Stokke-branded plate too, so it seems like the surface of the tray may be the issue. Easy to clean but hard to get plates and bowls to stick to - tricky when you have a baby that loves lifting items and tossing them around like mine does!

I had previously bought a £150 big chunky plastic high chair for my older child when she was a baby and found it took up too much room and it didn’t fit at the dining table well. We are really pleased with the Tripp trapp as it matches our oak dining furniture. It’s one of the smallest high chairs we could find so we aren’t forever tripping over it. It’s sturdy, easy to clean and it’s not too heavy so I can pull it out, clip the tray on and use it while I’m in the kitchen. I’m glad I paid the extra money and bought the Stokke brand rather than a cheaper alternative on the market as the ... The only thing I would say negatively, is the harness seems like a bit of a design afterthought. It doesn’t attach to the top of the chair and just sort of hooks over. We have a very wriggly baby and he manages to unhook them easily. This isn’t too much of a problem as he can sit up nicely already. I would highly recommend spending the extra money as it is definitely worth it.
I bought the tray for my second child, as it always bothered me that our table was too high. The tray is the perfect height and a lot more comfortable for my six month old baby. I wish I had bought this for my first baby.We’ll use it until bubs is 1.5 years old and then ket her sit at the table (she should then be tall enough). I also think it is better to sit in front of the baby when they’re starting solids (until they’re around 1 year old).Only downside is the rough surface which means all the suction plates don’t work properly.
Bit on the pricey side, but then so's the chair! Having a tray makes the clean up operation for babies much more manageable than using the main table directly. Tray is very easy to take on and off and easy to clean (hatching on the back gathers water so found it best to wipe between meals and then leave upright overnight to drain after a proper clean in the evening). Difficult to find suction bowls that stick but so far OXO Tots stick and stay bowl/plate are working well for us.
