Clairol Blonde It Up Permanent Hair Colour - Platinum Blonde

The "no bleach" is what grabbed my attention, like most I'm sure. So my hair goes down to the middle of my back and it's mostly grown out light brown "virgin" hair besides 4-6 inches of my ends remaining color-treated blonde. I just tried this product last night and it barely did anything at all in comparison with what I expected. The majority of my hair that was light brown now has a slight orange tone, as if I were to have squeezed lemon juice on it and went out in the sun for a day. However, the ends of my hair that was already blonde, they look amazing. I just wish my whole head looked that way and not just the very tips that were previously lightened. Also, aside from having a seriously STRONG smell of chemicals, the constancy was extremely watery. I just used my fingers to apply, as using a brush was clearly not happening. Overall, I think if your hair is already lightened, this product could possibly work well for you, but it took me 2 boxes and almost 2.5 hours to fully saturate my hair evenly with my section clips and foils and I feel like I wasted my time and money.

I would not recommend this product. I’m naturally a light blonde so by the package I should have become a level 10. However this product just turned my hair orange. Luckily I was able to get my hair down to a light yellow color with the help or color correctors and toners. Also the smell is horrible!! It’s super strong and one of the worst smells I have ever smelled. Really the only good thing about this product is that it didn’t make my hair fall out. Personally I would just recommend people to use bleach to lighten their hair. This product is supposed to be less harmful than bleach but as long as you don’t over-process your hair and you use good hair care products bleach will do little to no damage to your hair. I think this Clairol Blonde It Up dye is a great option to lighten hair without having to use bleach. Application of the dye was very similar to other hair dyes I’ve used in the past. The roots actually looked more natural, for bleached hair, than what I have been doing for more than 20 years. No hair fall AWESOME and my hair actually feels better than before I used it! It took my roots from almost black to a light tone blonde in one sitting! That's more than I expected from a no bleach product. I was happy that the processing time was longer than with bleaching. It gave me more time to get it all in. The formula didn't get dry and was super easy to work with, allowing me to make parts in saturated sections if needed. You can see in the before pictures how I had close to 2 inches of roots. When I applied Clairol’s lightener, I applied only to the roots and left a little space from my scalp. I left on for almost 50 mins (I didn’t cover it up with foil or anything to contain heat) after reading the directions. Then about 15 mins before washing it out I pulled the color a little down the strand and also put it all over my scalp! I am FLOORED with how well it lightened, along with the minimal damage. This is a way better alternative to bleach if your scalp is sensitive because there was absolutely no burning! I followed the directions on this box to a T. I didn't think I'd have enough to do all of my hair as it is pretty long. After about 20 minutes I decided to just since it all out because I was afraid that my hair would show two obvious colors. although the bottom is a little darker than the top, I think it worked out well. it's not really blonde though, it's more of a strawberry blonde.

I dye it blonde. I do not use a 2 step process, just regular blonde dye. My roots needed touching up, so I thought this would be perfect. Not necessarily harder to use, just more steps. The dye itself was a little runny. I personally like a thicker more creamy mixture to prevent messes and drips. I have mixed and applied tons of different hair dyes in my time and this formula was easy to mix and had very little smell compared to previous hair dyes I have used. I feel the development time is too long. I understand that it does not have bleach in it therefore the developing time is longer. However, nobody has over an hour to sit and wait for results. Natural blonde turned brown in my 40’s

I decided to try Clairol’s blonde it up. I figured it couldn’t hurt trying it as it’s bleach free. I am a natural blonde, as I’ve aged my hair has changed to a light blonde/brown color. I decided to give this product a try because bleach tears up my baby fine hair, I cannot use bleach on my hair. I used blonde it up yesterday. It says leave in for 30 min. I could only leave it on 20 min!! My hair is now a strawberry reddish blonde! 😩This product is terrible! How did I end up with strawberry reddish blonde hair if this product does not have bleach?? It most definitely lifted my hair five levels more like 10 levels.! I’m not a happy camper, this is not what I expected to happen.
