Clairol Nice 'N Easy Root Touch-Up Permanent Hair Colour, Medium Blonde, 8

I’ve been doing my own roots for a few years now, since the grey hairs have been coming in more frequently. I was very excited to have clarol’s root touch up sent to me completely free in exchange for my honest review! Unfortunately it was not for me. Grey hair is much harder to cover and although it claims it’s great for covering grey hair, it fell short. I followed all of the steps and it suggested to leave on for longer for stubborn grey which I did, and you can still see the grey hair throughout. I also found there wasn’t enough product to do my whole head of roots, only the top half. For the same price as a normal sized box dye. I also didn’t like the smell of ammonia. I normally go for ammonia free dyes. Don't you just hate those stubborn sneaky greys that hide in full sight? I was sent the new @clairol_uk_ire #ClairolColourBlend to test. My hair has changed texture in the last few years. I have dry/frizzy 3B/C hair. Welsh weather does nothing to charm my fine hair into tumbling curls at the moment. The kit comprises of everything needed to touch up regrowth. Brush, mixing dish, colour, developer, gloves and full instructions. The only thing missing was a protective bonnet but I used a conditioner shower cap i already had at home. I was sent shade #6 which is the perfect shade for me. It was really easy to apply the colour on parting, edges , nape (when hair in an up-do). The Instructions advise is to develop for 10 minutes. At this point, I checked the development and added remainder to the very stubborn greys for another 5 mins [15 in total]. No sting, no unpleasant smell, no dripping]. Very easy to rinse out on the shower without any skin staining. Most of my greys were covered, blended well. I did have a few sneaky strays that didn't blend. So, whilst I didn't manage 100% cover, I'd guess 95% coloured satisfactorily. A great result for first use. My top tip. I keep the top box flap for colour reference for my next shopping trip. Amazing and quick root touch up product!

I was a bit skeptical about a root touch-up product with zero bleach and how badly I would notice it against my bleached hair but wow, the Clairol Extra Lift Root Touch-up was amazing, it covered the roots whilst blending in with the bleach.I was impressed the kit came with a little mixing bowl and brush applicator which makes it much easier to apply to your roots and the harder to reach areas.It was really quick and easy, only 20 minutes to wait for it to do the job and I just washed it out with some moisturising shampoo and conditioner. Amazing coverage!

Dying my hair has become a necessity in my 40s due to the greys coming though. It’s a task I don’t enjoy and regardless of which dye I use it only ever lasts a short time. Lots of work, weakening of my hair and for very short lived benefit. I wish I had found this touch up dye years ago. I am currently on week 3 and not a grey in sight! Easy to apply with the curved brush and no mess to hands or bathroom! Only needs to be put on where you need it (for me that’s the front of hair and around my roots). Easy and fast with great results!

Thank you Home Tester Club and Clairol for allowing me to test this product.In the box came instructions, gloves, a recyclable mixing pot, a brush/separating tool and of course colour cream and activator. Mixed into pot - by the time I had mixed thoroughly, I was left with a quite thick rich cream, which I really liked - no dodgy drops to worry about. Then applied to my roots with the brush. At this point I’m 10 minutes in, no mess, no fuss, and I’m done! Instructions say to leave in for 10 minutes, or 15 if your greys are stubborn. Mine definitely are so I left it on for the full 15 as suggested. It is now at 25 mins from start to finish! Rinsed off and applied my usual conditioner. All done, easy , simple, quick and fuss free! I would definitely buy this!

Great for touchups

I have been looking for a good kit and came across this one at Ulta. I tried other brands like Madison Reed, revlon, L'Oréal, and only this one provided true grey coverage. Definitely going to buy again.What a relief just mentally for me because I can't go to a salon with these prices and I struggled for months finding something that worked. I kept using color spray and felt sad seeing my hair not look good when I went out. My confidence is back and I'm happy with what I see in the mirror.I hope this helps others and works just as great as it did for me.For reference - I have natural brown hair and have dark blonde highlights. I go between this combo and also red. This is what my stylist would do at the salon so I also try to mimic the same routine. (Highlight, no highlight color only, hightlight 8 weeks, etc.)So I went with the auburn red kit and applied to my roots then added the all over toner that comes with it and to my surprise it helped blend all the tones beautifully. I can see it eventually washing out back to my blonde highlights but my roots still look great.

Colour matches my hairdresser dyed hair perfectly. You get just the right amount of mixture to cover your roots a good inch or so. This is not for a full head. People have commented that it is a waste of money buying this when you could buy a full pack and just mix what you need when you need it. Personally, I prefer the comfort of knowing that the different products you need to mix are in the right proportions. Once mixed this goes on easily and without drips. I did find the brush tricky to use - almost felt like the wrong shape, so once I had done my hairline I massaged the dye into my roots with my finger tips and this worked just as well. Quick fix for those pesky grey hairs

I received the colour 4G which is meant to match dark golden brown shades. I wish we got more product as I struggled to cover my grey hair with the amount given. The colour turned funny as I squeezed out the tube so perhaps it reacted with the metal at the bottom of the tube or it was old stock. However, the product was so easy to use and no drips at all and no smell which is surprising. The colour blended so easily into my already coloured hair and gave me more confidence before I have to use an all over colour again. However, I probably need to use two boxes so this would work out quite expensive which is a shame. A lovely product to use and I loved the kit which contained everything you need including a plastic mixing vessel and a brush. Excellent product! Useful dish & brush to use with creamy thick product which meant no dripping or mess, plus accurate application around hairline to prevent skin staining. Colour was a great match for loreal shade group 4, and was a nice dark brown (not ending up black or with an orange undertone like some brands recently). I managed go apply this quickly and then brush from the roots down the length of my hair just to assist the colour blending into my existing colour. Plus what was amazing was being able to apply it very quickly and neatly and then play with my toddler for the short development time before rinsing off…something I definitely couldn’t do when doing a full head of colour because of the mess and time that involves, and because having a full head of ... MoreExcellent product!
