I received the “Clarins Double Eye Serum” complimentary in exchange for my honest opinions/reviews. This “DOUBLE” eye serum was already a bit unique with the title (in my opinion). The instructions threw me off for a second (but I was grateful for them!) as I was instructed to mix two different liquid-y oils/creamies together? One of them had a creamy-ish/milky texture to it, while the other one was a lot more ‘like-water,’ I was skeptical, but they actually mixed pretty well together (leading me to wonder, why have me do it?) It was a little inconvenient - perhaps just due to the way the sample packs are laid out - I never felt like I quite got them even, but I’d imagine the full sized product has all of that under control. It felt very easy to glide around with minimal pressure - which is obviously ideal around the sensitive eye area. After using this for a week (2x a day - AM + PM) which lasted me nearly an entire two weeks - I have noticed the skin around my eyes seems to be more hydrated (less cracking or makeup wearing out throughout the day visibly) and eyes look more plump - almost like needle-less filler. Sign me up! I’m big on smells - and the scent to this serum provided an oddly relaxing sensation - a bit like when you go to the spa. Not too intense, but enough to feel like you’re getting pampered. Although it began as a learning experience, I quickly realized that only a little could go quite a long way. I feel this is probably most effective too, as the few times I felt I used too much - it seemed to take a bit to uncover where all the excess was to go. All in all, I really loved this little treat and feel I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking, specifically, for an eye serum!!

I was thrilled to receive a sample of this product from influenster. My grandma loves their eye cream and has recommended it to me previously. This is the Clarins double eye serum which is a two in one formula with 13 plant extracts that combine into one powerhouse eye treatment to visibly smooth, firm and hydrate for more youthful-looking eyes. I can’t confirm that over the last couple days I’ve seen a difference but it claims that within 7 days you do. It has Hydrolipidic System of 1/3 oil-soluble extracts + 2/3 water-soluble extracts which are the optimal concentrations to match the skin’s natural oil-to-water ratio. It’s double texture combines the tightening properties of a gel with the comfort of a cream for a lightweight treatment. You apply it to clean eye contours, morning and evening. The sample packets we received were fun you would fold it open and squeeze the two sides, mix them, and then apply. I think a pump which the full size does have would be better though. A little bit of product goes a long way so it could last awhile. It’s $80 for 0.6 oz and to me that is really expensive for an eye serum. That being said for more aged skin this may be worth the investment.

One component is creamy and white while the other is clear and more gel or oil like. When mixing the two it reminds me of a water based gel for the face and has a mild clean soapy fragrance to it. 🍀After mixing the two products I made a decision that I had enough product in each packet to apply both in the day and at night (so I did). On the skin it is light weight slightly dewy, very hydrating, and thus far I have experienced no irritation. 🍀After a full day, this eye serum gets oily!!! It’s like I rubbed baby oil on my face, do not pair it with a moisturizer if you have normal to oily skin. It now feels heavy, dirty, greasy and will definitely separate your makeup. I just want to wash it off so bad. Aside from the oily feeling the serum makes my skin look oily (it is just so shiny) not a good look at all. I continued to use the product despite the oiliness and I am honestly not upset about it. 🍀On day four to seven my skin began to absorb the product more, the oily feeling isn’t felt as much, and before and after washes my skin feels amazing. There is no visible change in my eye but it is really soft, hydrated, and not reacting in any negative way to the formula. It is also important to note that I have very bad insomnia and that my dark circles are hereditary, a formula alone cannot help me. I am happy with my hydrated and healthy looking skin, I also noted that previously there was a sun kissed, and heated sensation, this has now become more of a firming sensation (it just took some time). 🍀Lastly, if you wear makeup daily I suggest beginning your routine at night for the first four to five days. This will allow your skin time to adjust and learn to absorb this product. Once your skin begins absorbing it, and looks dewy and not oily, makeup applies perfectly over it and does not separate. But I will review the things I noticed based off those 7 days. Before you apply, make sure you warm and rub both solubles together or you’ll notice a yellowish tint on skin! I love how silky this feels going on my skin and it absorbs well without leaving my skin feeling oily or sticky. I didn’t experience any type of irritation in the 7 days of using nor did it cause me to breakout. The fragrance is pretty strong, but I’ll get to that down below. After 7 days of use I noticed my complexion was more radiant, had a really nice glow, felt moisturized, and skin felt soft. I didn’t see any improvement in fine lines, as it’s going to take more than 7 days of use to see any type of improvement for those, saw no difference in firmness or smoothness, and saw no tightening of pores (see con). I’m going to be honest here, while I did like the brighter/glowing complexion it gave me, this serum is pretty overpriced (around $90 per ounce) for something that contains more synthetic fragrance than the 21 plant extracts they list up front. I don’t tend to mind a bit of fragrance in my skincare but I would prefer the 21 plant extracts to be listed before fragrance. I do still think it’s worth a shot if you can make the splurge because the glow really is amazing. I really like this serum and, if I'd have received a free sample (and actually managed to get equal amounts of the serum and cream out of it at once), I would probably be giving 4 stars. It's a nice texture, I like the combination of serum and cream which makes it easy to apply and the cream element prevents it from being oil-slick greasy. I also notice a difference when I use it, although not when I don't so you really have to use it every day if you want to see results. When I stopped using it there wasn't really any prolonged benefit that I noticed. My MAJOR issue is the pump. It appears to be the same design pump as the normal double serum for face which means that, even on the low setting, it pumps out WAY too much product. A product that is designed to be used only around the eyes should not dose the same amount as a product designed for the whole face, that seems pretty obvious to me! When I try to do a half pump on the low setting, I don't get equal amounts of product so I either end up with the greasy serum or just the cream element. Not good. I will not buy this again unless the pump design changes as ml for ml, with the pump the way it is, it is incredibly expensive, wasteful and so disappointing!
