A Bust Product for Me

Bought this because I like the day cream version a lot. This however was just not a great formulation for me. It simply NEVER absorbs into my skin and then it just rubs off on my pillow case or hands eventually. And I don't use an excessive amount because of the price tag. I'm a big fan of using the minimal amount required. It's too late to return it, so it's just going to move into my graveyard of products that I can't bare to throw away because, $$$, but just don't work on my skin. Le sigh. But, I still love the extra firming day cream and all my other Clarins products. I would recommend trying a sample of this before buying if possible so you know if it's a good consistency for your skin.

A very good cream, highly recommended.

Again... well, this is a cream that I have been using for a long time and maybe that's why it doesn't have the effect it had before. So I will probably start using Nutri-Lumiere because I see a greater effect, although it is not related to my age. Either way, it is a very good cream and when combined with orchid oil it gives a wonderful effect. BTW, when applying the cream to your face, you only need to pat in a minimum amount of the oil with your fingers, do not use the oil on your face directly!!!

Be careful which one you order

This cream comes in a variant for “all skin types” and one for extra dry skin. I found the one for all skin types to be a much nicer formula and more hydrating and I suggest it for extra dry skin. The extra dry variant didn’t moisturise my skin very well and I wasn’t a fan of the texture. The product is pricey but Clarins is a good brand that makes superior skincare products so I recommend it if your budget allows.My all time favourite is still their Nutri lumiere, I’m yet to find anything that my skin loves as much

Changed formula! Not for the better!

Really disappointed with the degradation in quality of all Clarins products. I have been using Clarins products for over 30 years. The texture has changed & becoming gloopier & sits on the skin rather than being absorbed comfortably. The scent has changed to a less appealing fragrance (no doubt as the ingredients have changed). Having said that the Extra Firming range is still better than the super restorative range despite that range being more expensive targeting the more mature skin market. So I'm sticking with it.

I was not sure this product would actual...

I was not sure this product would actually work. I am 73 and was resigned to wearing my wrinkles around my mouth. That's the only area that really needed some good treatment. Thought I would give this a try. Substituted this Clarins product for the product was was u sing (it worked, just not good enough) and inside of 10 days, I could see a difference, and especially after I finished my morning ritual of skin care, priming, and minimal makeup. I am so happy I bought this product.

I'm back with clarins extra firming night cream.

I used to use clarins before lockdown. I then went natural and only used basic oils to moisturiser. Last year I decided my face needed professional cream s .I tried a couple of well known, well advertised cream s and found them sticky and drying. Now I'm back and my face feels great. The cream is moisturising and not sticky. If I miss a night application, l do not feel as if I had had lime on my skin..Yea it's good to be back with Clarins.

Like all versions but this one

I am a fan of both the dry and all skin type versions of extra firming day though all skin types is probably most suitable for me and I have gone through multiple full size versions. The dry skin version of the day is just a little richer but with a silky fluid texture. My skin likes/accepts this version as my skin type is normal to dry. The night version AST is more emollient/oily but applies nicely. The dry skin nighttime version was sent to me in samples and the texture of this product is horrible. It is not more hydrating or moisturizing but comes out thick and putty like and has a waxy dry occlusive feel on the skin. It just sits there like a mask. I do not recommend this product to normal or dry or any skin types. It is to me a fail. This has ruined my skin

I've never purchased Clarins before and I have to say I am extremely underwhelmed. The day cream (and maybe the night cream??) has destroyed my skin within a week. I've never felt such dryness in my life. My face is red raw and even my eyelids are scaly. So disappointed as I saved up for these products and was excited to be on a new skin journey. Currently sat with cocoa butter and vaseline all over my face! Their policy states you can't return items unless they're unopened so leaving this review to warn others was my only option. So annoyed at myself as I was torn between Clarins and Elemis and wish if picked the latter!

Top notch night cream 50+

I've been using the Extra-firming Night Cream by Clarins for probably over 10 years now. I'm 52 now and I don't have wrinkles. I share this information because I've been taking great care of my skin for a long time and this cream had been part of my routine! It has a wonderfully rich consistency without being too thick. The scent is divine without being overpowering and you can tell the botanical are of high quality. I highly recommend this night cream for anyone in their 40's and 50's.
