But really I wanted to come here and give thanks and my 5 stars to Beauty Affairs! In this current climate (covid) it’s been tough.... I’m a mum of three with a small baby and a child with special needs who as anyone in NSW would know r home doing school.... shops aren’t open anyway and I have been in real need of a “glow up” Beauty Affairs helped me! How? First off, they have great customer service! They’re very friendly and get back to you straight away (given it is within working hours) the pack it and send it and I honestly receive it the next morning! 100/100 WOULD RECOMMEND ALL PRODUCTS!!

Currently, I (ritually) use 13-14 Clarins products and this being one of them! :) I use it the exact way they demonstrate in the product details - just phenomenal and so satisfying! I’m approaching 2ish years since making the full switch to only using Clains skin care routine & make-up products. I’ll never use anything else. Im super picky yet I’m not someone who can usually afford pricey products such as these. So, naturally the price absolutely scared me at first. However, I’ve never regretted these purchases for a second. Im not easily impressed or even one to leave reviews, but I’ve NEVER truly been more pleased with a skin care company let alone having any confidence in their product quality, ever before. I hope my (long) review helps to encourage your purchase or making the total switch too! You deserve it :)

Changed and ruined yet another product

Clarins discontinued the foundation that was PERFECT in color, texture, and coverage and replaced it with something that is a rubbery mask, discontinued the perfect light moisturizer, and now has discontinued a wonderful toner. While this kind of works OK, I do not like the scent and do not like the feeling left behind, a little sticky. Iris was great, used it for years. I am finishing this bottle and then this is yet another product type I'll have to find elsewhere. I guess the policy is to introduce new products to keep up interest, but the classics were better. (Please don't bother with the standard apology reply.)

Disappointed

Purifying Toning Lotion didn’t meet the standard I was expecting. It is a new product which replaced discontinued Toning Lotion with Iris (I really enjoyed using it). The smell is extremely sharp in a negative way and I can’t continue using it. Some reviews stated that the new smell was ok and because of that I decided to give a go. However that wasn’t the case with me. After trying few times in the morning, I had to stop as the not nice smell would stay for a little bit longer even after putting on the face cream. Misleading New from original formula

This is not the tonic lotion Iris, Peaux misted ou grasses. I just purchased one that seemed to be the same one: same color, same bottle and then there’s the smell….. imagine applying unbrushed morning saliva on your face, it smells horrible—very deceiving. The green face wash also changed the “new” one is more coarse, the previous one was foamy. Why did you change the formula ? It makes no sense. So disappointing

Old Formula was a winner, new formula is trash

For the customers that have never used the old formula and started with new formula, I’m really sorry to say that you truly missed out. The old formula with Iris smelled so wonderful and refreshing. The toner truly balanced out my skin pH level, it dried quickly after applying yet kept my skin hydrated before putting on moisturizer. Now the new formula not only smells WAY too strong and really horrible, but also leaves a uncomfortable texture on my skin after applying. Clarins, please please bring back the old formula. You don’t have to invent just for invention’s sake. You are losing loyal customers from what I’m reading in recent reviews.

Reformulation needs some improvement

This product was reformulated & though the performance is just as good, the scent is highly unappealing. I saw other online reviews stating similar issues but thought I should try it myself to make an informed opinion. I did purchase it & unfortunately I have to agree with other online reviews, the odor of this product is in no way appealing. The prior version had a fresh, light, invigorating scent. This new formulation is a bit sweet, earthy & there's a pungent odor that happens on the dry down that I can't explain, but that's where the unappealing odor stems. I can't use this product anymore & I'm so disappointed because the quality is still fantastic, but product scent is wildly off putting. Smells so awful had to return. Bring back Iris!

I have used Clarins for 20+ years and my favourite part of my skin care regime has always been the fresh feeling and gorgeous scent of Iris Toner. I ordered the new Purifying Toning Lotion not realising that the formula had changed. What a shock and disappointment! The scent is overpoweringly sweet and cloying. I tried to get used to it, but there was no pleasure in using the product anymore so I returned it. I've had to start using an alternative brand now which I would have preferred not to have had to do. I note that many other reviewers are saying the same thing, not just about Iris Toner, but the others too. Please, Clarins. Listen to your longstanding and loyal customers: bring back the old formulas!

What is that SMELL?

I received the Purifying Toning Lotion as a sample and was looking forward to trying it. As several other reviewers have said, it has a very odd, unpleasant odour. That was the first thing that put me off. The odour lingers even after the product has dried. After application, my skin (aside from the putrid smell) felt dry, tight, and dessicated. I cannot honestly see anything to recommend about this product. Sorry, Clarins.

Will be buying but ...

I recently received a sample of the modified toner ( when purchasing the multi active day lotion - which reverting back too instantly cleared up my problematic moderate but consistent acne and I absolutely love the product and will not stray again) I will be buying a bottle of the toner to have on hand HOWEVER not to use as an everyday twice a day toner (which the previous version of the toner was for me) the product made my skin too tight and dry which would have resulted in me again over using a moisturiser and creating acne. It cleansed and purified and effectively cleared the area, I could feel it deep inside the pores and it felt very refreshing. Where I have acne on my jawline from using the moisturise from another brand I have put the toner on via a cotton pad and holding it on the inflammation. It has definitely helped.I will be buying this product and reliant on this product for the purpose I have stated above and it will be a go to of mine, I intend to use this after cleansing and before putting on a spot treatment on a problematic area.But not all over my skin and not daily and certainly not twice a day.I do however feel I am back on track for healthy skin now that I have found found a 1 2 3 step routine that works after experimenting since Clarins amended the face wash and toner.The multi active range is still brilliant and I still consider myself a Clarins girl.
