The only "pore defying" going on is how this primer defies one's attempts to minimize the appearance of enlarged pores. I used to love the prior formula that had tinting in it. It was the best product ever and I absolutely loved it. I could use it alone without make-up and my face looked so smooth. They discontinued that and came out with this. I purchased this new product twice, returning it once thinking that something was wrong with it. The second one I will also be returning. The formula is so dry it won't even rub into my skin. It just clumps on my face and does absolutely nothing for the appearance of my pores. I have tried using very tiny amounts, using lotion first, mixing it with my makeup, everything to make it work, but it still does not rub in well and does not improve the appearance of my pores and it's just way too much work for no results. I too used the universal primer that was discontinued. I used this and it is MUCH different and better. I'm at phase in my life where I still have oily skin but I'm starting to show age and wrinkle in my forehead. I randomly forgot to use this product one day and started a facetime with my husband. I saw myself, specifically my forehead, and I was surprised at how wrinkly my forehead actually looked. It was embarrassing. I know lighting in a camera can make all the difference so I made sure I put this primer on the next day and facetimed my husband again from the exact same spot and around the same time of day. Annoyingly hard to distribute, i have to massage it in a lot more than other primers that just melt in. When I try to massage it in I notice clumps that just roll around on top of my skin. Eventually I smooth them out but it makes me feel like the primer is not getting distributed evenly. I haven't tried it yet, but putting on while your moisturizer is fresh might help.On the bright side, I have sensitive, combination, acne-prone skin from the devil and this did not irritate my skin or cause the usual itching. Pretty decent at helping with oily areas and no breakouts afterward (I always wash my makeup off). Very disappointed to find that Pore Refining Solutions has been discontinued from your inventory. Pore Defying Primer is definitely not a replacement for it and I will be returning my recent purchase ASAP. Why in the world would you discontinue such a great product as Pore Refining Solutions and try to replace it with this? I'll bet you never had a complaint with Pore Refining Solutions, but you have many discontent customers such as I with this new Pore Defying Primer. When i used less product my makeup was thick looking in some places and not others. It didnt lay well over moisteruzer. Seemed to really work against skin care. I am old enough now to say less makeup is more suitable. I wanted to hide my eye creases and pores around nose. This just didnt work for my daily no makeup "makeup look". But if i had a photoshoot and was okay piling this on my face then id say its good. I have used instant pore perfector for years. I came here to reorder a few items to find out it has been discontinued. That is incredibly frustrating, as there is no comparable item on the market, nor did I plan on searching for one. I like my sunscreen, pore perfector, and bronzer. Despite the bad reviews, I decided to try this and form my own opinion because I needed something. It's not even comparable. It's on its way being returned. My skin looked no different, it didn't sit well with my sunscreen and was just another layer I don't need on my face. The pore perfector allowed me to use it only where needed in small amounts. I'm done with Clinique now, after 20 plus years, they have taken away too many reliable products.
After cleansing my face with Clinique products and using Moisture Surge, at attempted to use this product. It immediately pilled and fell off my face and onto my clothes. My next attemp was to use it before Moisture Surge. While this attempt was somewhat successful, there was still pilling. When I applied Moisture Surge, the rest of the product pilled and fell off.I have been a Clinique customer since before there was internet and I had to drive 40 miles to the nearest store to purchase Clinique. I have used Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector for many years. Because Clinique has discontinued Instant Perfector and they do not listen to their customers, I am now searching for a new product line.

I have larger pores on my cheeks and chin, and this greatly diminishes the appearance of them!
