I have combo skin that can tend to be sensitive to new products, and my skin did not react badly when putting this into my routine, and I had no issues using this on more oily days and more dry days. I was given a sample bottle of Clinique's take the day off cleansing mousse from Ulta for spending above a certain amount of $. I went into washing my face confidently, covering my face and neck. Within minutes, my face and neck broke out in hot itchy red bumps. I immediately washed my face with a different face wash and applied cold compress. After 30-45 minutes of pure itchiness and heat with new spots arising, I had to take one of my partner's Allegras. Though it was soothed, I am still having some itchy spots arise a couple hours later. I have NEVER had an allergic reaction before in my life. I was extremely shocked to say the least. Read reviews that the Cleaning Mousse was an equally good product and thought "same product in a nice clean, easy tube, even better!" It's not. I slather the Balm over my face and eyes, it disolves everything in seconds, including waterproof mascara, which I then rinse off with a hot cloth. Job done. You CANNOT use the Mousse anywhere near your eyes (as it clearly says on the label, to be fair) as I painfully discovered. I am really enjoying this mousse. It’s definitely thicker than I was expecting. I was expecting the Clinique cleansing balm but just in a squeeze bottle, however, the two are very different. This mousse goes on very thick and needs water to emulsify it. With the cleansing balm, I can usually use the it without water and it turns to a thin oil but this mousse is very thick and hard to rub on your face without ample water. Once it’s emulsified, it feels so nice on the skin and lathers super well. A little goes a long way!!! It rinses clean with absolutely no residue or tacky feeling. All of my makeup was completely off- not even a trace of mascara. There is no scent which I love. I will definitely buy this when my current tube runs out!
